Vegetarians: Rejoice- no fish sauce/oil used in any curries or dishes aside from Pad Thai. Even that can be prepared without. We had our pickings off the lunch menu - which had a variety of dishes where you pick your protein which included tofu and mock duck. Each item comes with soup or salad and a spring roll. Massaman Curry with tofu, Green curry with mock duck and Basil thai fried rice with no egg. Salads were fresh with a peanut dressing. Spring rolls were hot and crispy with little to no oil. The green curry was spicy the way my wife prefers and the massaman curry was full of tofu, crinkle-cut carrots and potatoes. Large portions, lovely atmosphere and very helpful and polite staff. They have boba teas as well- which I plan on trying next time.

Thankfully, even if I couldn't easily find street parking in front of the restaurant, this place deserves every single star. Great work, not only is the food excellent but the decor is absolutely wonderful and the staff is beyond nice and welcoming. I went with my standard go-tos: Eggplant basil with tofu Tom yum soup with tofu Papaya salad Generous portions, lots of veggies, lots of flavor, enough spice to clear out my nose. I was thoroughly impressed. I'll be back.

The dining options at short hills are limited, and Eataly is probably the best option…read more I've always found the food at Eataly to be tasty and consistent. Maybe I'm just ordering the right thing? The pomodoro pasta is one of the best I've ever had. This sauce is really delicious and complex. The pasta is really nice quality and al dente. Very good. Recently we came for brunch and it was just ok. The eggs with asparagus, ricotta and pancetta - We asked for a soft scramble (not soft). They had sliced raw asparagus tossed in little olive oil on sliced bread... needed to be more than just that. It would have been a lot tastier if they seasoned the ricotta and toasted the bread. Still, I like coming here and it's a great restaurant for a mall. It's also easy to bring kids here which makes it very convenient!

Not a plus when our friendly server had a hard time taking our orders. We ordered a salad and bread to start. How fun that my nephew was able to order a heart shaped pizza!!! We all opted for the pasta dishes. The pizza arrived first, then lasagna, pasta dish, then salad, fettuccine swirled in Parmesan wheel... and finally the bread. First of all... we expected the appy type stuff first... as was requested. Secondly, each dish was a few minutes after the next which made it awkward on whether to start eating or wait for everyone to have their meal. Lastly, the stylish, oversized bowls and dishes really didn't fit on our table. Food was spectacular... but would really appreciate the first courses arriving first... At this price point, I expected more. Overall, loved the pastas, but not sure I'd come back for a social type of meal, especially due to the excessive noise level.

I discovered Sofun because I was desperately craving stinky tofu, and there are maybe...6?...places…read morein the Tri-State area that even serve it. Yes, I am one of those people who crave stinky tofu. Maybe it's my Taiwanese upbringing. Or maybe I was born with demented taste buds. I mean, who years for a dish that smells like the love child of gym socks and hot garbage? Me. I do. Anywho, Sofun was on our way to another spot, so we decided to stop by for lunch....and I couldn't believe how abso-effing authentic and delicious it was. - Stinky Tofu (臭豆腐): Not the full-blown, soft-stewed, CASSEROLE OF FUNK that I would've liked--but I rarely find that outside of Taiwan. This was the less stinky but still gorgeously pungent black, Hunan cousin. Crispy outside and soft inside, it was just fermented enough to make my organs shudder a bit but make my taste buds sing madrigals. - Beef & Pickled Pepper (泡椒牛肉): A stir-fry I rarely see and never believed I'd find in suburban NJ of all places. The sliced beef was perfectly cooked and accompanied by some of my favorite spicy pickled peppers and fresh peppercorn in an umami medley of spice that made us want to lick the plate. I kinda did... - Stir-Fried Spicy Cabbage (手撕包菜): A classic but a goodie. Nothing much to say but that it hit all the crunchy, garlicky notes we wanted. - Coconut Sesame Balls (椰蓉麻球): A spontaneous pick for something sweet. This was a nice twist on the classic black sesame-filled balls you usually see. Instead of that ebony paste, we bit into gobs of milky cream--and I was not mad about that. In conc, if you ever have a reason to be in...*checks notes*...Summit, NJ and need food with REAL flavor, definitely come to this elegantly modern spot that would fit right in in Beijing's trendiest neighborhood. I said what I said.

We usually have to venture all the way to Flushing to get our fix, but not anymore. We ordered one of our favorite dishes, fish fillet soup with pickled cabbage, and it was incredible. The broth was tasty and rich, the fish was tender, and the soup was loaded with noodles and veggies. We were so pleasantly surprised that they nailed one of our favorite dishes! We also decided to try the beef and pickled cabbage. The beef was so tender and flavorful. The dish also had a good beef/veggie ratio. The ambiance is also very nice and upscale. This was one of our first restaurant stops with our new baby, and we were seated in a nice, quiet corner. Our server was incredibly polite and even offered to help us when the baby started getting fussy. Overall this was a great experience.

We was very disappointed this year. The pancakes had no lemon flavor and barely any ricotta. The texture was a little doughy like could i've cooked a little longer. The syrup was very watery . We also had the spinach, mushroom and bacon/sausage and cheese Omelet. Had a side of home fries and toast.which was tasty but normally better. The omelet dish looked really good when came out. The service was a little slower but it was a holiday. Where they sat us was not a good location. It was in front of a window that faced the inside area of the mall entrance and people looked or glanced at us as we ate.

I didn't get a chance to try the cakes, which is where I feel that they would've rebounded. Steak Frites: The steak was tiny and almost well-done even though I asked for medium. Flavor wise, the steak was fine. I was hoping for a taste closer to a "low-end" steakhouse, but I ended up with "just make it yourself at home" kind of vibe. They thought the compound butter would hide the imperfections, but it didn't. The fries were actually pretty good. Crispy, seasoned, and parmesaned enough that I tasted it til the end. The one big sin for me is the lack of a Bearnaise Sauce. Steak Frites has always been a 3 part meal (Steak, fries, and sauce). Losing the sauce pretty much means that this isn't Steak Frites and it's a shame. Service: It's a bit weird. The staff were using the right words, but you could just feel that they didn't want to work/be there. I get it, work sucks, and we gotta pay the bills. I bit of tone change will go a long way. Other than that, it's alright. Waters were more or less topped up, and we got everything we needed within a reasonable time. Ambiance: Dim, spatious, with a healthy dinner rush noise. Location has never been an issue for The Cheesecake Factory, it's the things that makes restaurants good (food and service) that could improve.

The Cheesecake Factory - I returned to give it another chance, but it was jam packed with a long wait.
