You choose either their special rice roll or regular roll. Prices range from $5-12 depending on the size and what you want. They offer fillings like beef, shrimp, bbq pork or curry fish ball. Top it off with lettuce, bean sprouts and corn for texture. It takes a bit for them to make but it's hot and fresh af. We ate here twice during our NYC trip because they're just that good and affordable! The shrimp and cilantro combo was hellaella bomb. Drizzle some soy sauce and dab some chili oil on top and you're good to go! I like how they preslice them and put them on a plate so it's easy to scoop up. Come before lunch or you'll have to wait a while for your rolls because they do get pretty busy. My mom waited almost 30mins for their rolls after ordering. It's one of the most popular stalls at the New World mall. Seating is so-so, really depends on the time you go but sometimes seating will be hard to find. You'd have to make friends with an elderly asian grandma or pa at a table. They're located near the restrooms so there will be a lot of foot traffic there. Overall, good food at a good price! Service is meh, just order and food and stand off to the side. Grab your sauces and go. But anyways, their rolls touch my soul. And I aint being a troll. Check them out if you're in Flushing! Bring cash because it will be a little cheaper.

I was afraid that their hours may be compromising the taste but that was never the case!!! I would say the pork ribs with garlic and curry anything and the desserts were to DIE FOR. What we ordered: - Shrimp Dumplings - Pork Siu Mai - Steamed Short Rib - Steamed Chicken Feet - Rice Rolls w. Shrimp - Soupy Dumplings We placed our order and most of our items came out around the same time. We noted to her that the Steamed Short Ribs didn't come out yet. Shortly after they came out. Then awhile later she came out with a Spare Ribs with Garlic dish. We declined it because we knew we didn't order it, we thought it was just at our table mistakenly. She brought it back to the kitchen then a man came saying that it was ours. We explained that we already got the ribs we ordered and she must have not understood when we were asking for our missing item as us ordering a different item. He understood and took it back. Won't become our go to dim sum spot but it was good for what it was.

We got the ginger milk pudding. Do think it's a bit pricey ($10) since it's an easy dessert to make but I guess it's all the theatrics. They pour the dessert in front of you and put a sand glass on top. Once sand glass is done, so is the dessert and you can even rest a spoon on top. The dessert is very smooth, barely a solid, and its ginger taste is very strong- which I like. Strong ginger but pairs well with the milk and good amount of sugar. It is a bit spicy but I like it this way. They do have a lot of other desserts as well as savory items on the menu. Intrigued by their savory menu and will definitely come back to try them next time.

Flavor profiles were hitting in all directions I didn't know which one to pick as my favorite! Durian mango coconut pudding - Durian wasn't overpowering at all and the mango shined in this dessert. The mango was nice and sweet, yet tart, soft and not at all unripe. The durian bits were creamy and custard-y, while the coconut pudding served as the perfect base for the dessert. Light and smooth Taro with mochi dessert- This was a taro sweet soup and had the consistency as black sesame soup. The taro was potent and the aroma was very prominent. The mochi was nice and soft, yet chewy. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. Ginger pudding - Utterly delicious. The ginger flavor and taste was insanely strong and the pudding was jiggly soft. Not too sweet and almost tasted spicy in a sense from the ginger. Super solid pudding. I'd come back just to get this again honestly.

This is Hong Kong style done right, and in Flushing you're getting the real thing at prices that genuinely rival what you'd pay in China. We lucked into a nice day and grabbed a seat outside. Service was fast and furious, which is exactly what you should expect and honestly want from a spot like this. You're not here for a leisurely dining experience, you're here to eat something delicious and get on with your day. My one gripe, and it applies to the whole surrounding area and not just Maxi's: there are basically no bathrooms to be found. Plan accordingly before you commit to a big bowl of soup. Cheap, tasty, authentic. Everything a Flushing noodle spot should be.
