    a variety of spices
    Jillian S.

TLDR: Plenty of spices, oils, spice blends, vinegars, and tea to choose from. Friendly, helpful employees. Street parking. Organized, well stocked spice shop in downtown Fuquay! I'm a fan of Savory Spice shop in North Raleigh. Being south of Raleigh at the time, I chose to check out Fuquay Spice & Tea. I'm glad I did since they had numerous spices, vinegars, oils, and teas to choose from. Usually I would immediately head to the teas. This visit I focused on the spices. They have common and unique spices and blends. They range from reasonably priced to pricy. However, numerous packages are discounted. I chose a variety of spices, mushrooms, oil, and vinegar. The employee at the counter was patient and friendly. Overall I had a positive visit here and recommend this shop to others!

I was very happy to find this place, quite coincidentally, as I've been becoming more and more interested in tisanes, concoctions, decoctions and teas. The shop just landed in my lap. Synchronicity and all that. I'm a regular at a nearby shop, so it makes me deliriously happy to be able to kill two birds with one stone. So to speak. I can hit up both places when I'm in town in one fell swoop. Let me get this out of the way. They sell a ginger gum and I was jazzed about trying it but it's a fail. The flavor goes away quickly and it sticks to everything. Even lips. Lol I don't recommend it, but I highly recommend this shop. They've got an exceptional assortment of small product. I'm not sure if you can go bigger just by asking, but the hand-sized packets of ingredients are usually enough for me. I used a variety, from rose to valerian to burdock to whatever blends I'm planning for the term. Again, I drink these and don't use them in foods. That said, I don't pick up many spices. However, I have to say - the owners have great taste. Everything is delicious. I've used their Turmeric Tonic sometimes just for the flavor. And I've never just downed a shot of infused vinegar before, but I was a willing virgin and boy was it tasty. They often have samples on display for just that. So far, it's a rockstar of a business and I'm glad to have them. Okay bye.

Clean venue, good flavor (3.5 / 5 star)…read more Venue: bright and modern decor. Small-to medium sized venue on the ground floor of apartment building. (live, play) type of building. Food: small menu which I do not have any problem with. When I go to Thai/lao restaurants, I always order papaya salad - which will tell me everything and what kind of food I can expect. Very simple taste- that doesn't mean bland. It captures sweet, savory and tang. Ordered green curry. Good flavor but almost bland - it can improve on the ingredients. Khao soi noodles again, taste good but missing something - All the dishes tried seems it was missing fish sauce flavor and more, which all dishes didn't seem to reflect traditional deep flavors. The chicken wings were pretty good. Wish the skin was crunchy and had a better batter. The hat yai dry rub was good, salty and sour but kind of reminded me more like tajin. My son really loved it. Service: yin and yang. One older lady who served our table was nice and attentive. The other supporting female staff there was unfriendly, almost seemed mad at the world. Slow service. Price: I don't know why NC charges so much for Asian food in general. I can't say it's outrageously expensive or reasonable price for the genre of this food. All in all, not a bad tasting food. It captured good flavor and has potential. I felt that the dishes are made afraid to show the real flavor traditional Thai flavor. May be good for entry -level food exploring.

I didn't realize when I first searched nearby and found this location, but it has multiple cuisine spot. I remember thinking as I was driving over that 'man I wish she liked Indian food' because I hadn't had any in some time. Much to my delight when we got here, I discovered not only were their Thai and Chinese inspired stuff, there was a nice large selection of Indian options. She got some chicken lo main, and I got palak paneer. She got some spring rolls, and I got my favorite Samosas. I introduced her to the papadum and chutneys that were given before the meal and she was a trooper and tried them all. Food arrived, was hot, fresh, and delicious. With the samosas it was too much for me to finish my palak paneer and I'm eating it now as I type this up for lunch on Sunday. Lo mein was well liked, she doesn't have a spice tolerance though and a 3 was a bit much for her. she said the spring rolls were great, and had finished off the lomein she brought home by Saturday night. Really great place you should check it out, they do delivery and stuff, but it was great to go in somewhere in person and enjoy a meal. Not a giant seating area but plenty of room to come in sit down and enjoy stuff.

I had absolutely NO idea where to start or even the questions to ask. I searched, read about and investigated so many different places to hire, and always walked away with the feeling that I was just another customer. That was not the feeling we were going to accept for our very important day. We were determined to make our day one where everyone was as happy to be there as we were, including our caterer. Our friend Lori introduced us to Leisa, and we are eternally grateful. The very first meeting with Leisa convinced us we were going to be working with her. She put us at ease immediately stating that it will be what we want at a price that will fit our budget. She didn't disappoint! Here's the kicker... Leisa showed up to find that most everything that was promised to work at this event place was in fact not working or was not working up to expectations... but we did not find out about these issues until AFTER our ceremony. That's right, no excuses, no bellyaching and most importantly no worries were revealed to us while we were busy trying to get everything completed for our big day. She even gave us samples of her delicious treats while we were setting up the hall and always with that beautiful smile on her face! Leisa Newby is a true professional! She was an integral part of our very special day, and also took time to talk with our family and friends about her wonderful spread. Each item was delicious and beautiful... and perfect. You will be making a wise choice with Everyday Gourmet, and wonderful friend with Leisa Newby. Most sincerely, -Michelle Locke and Kai Hellyer

Cooking at home for a large group sounded even more daunting, and I'm no slouch in the kitchen! With one phone call to Everyday Gourmet, everything started to fall amazingly into place. Leisa took great care in talking through choices and options to make our family dinner completely customized - from finalizing the menu, to working within our budget; she made it all very easy. Once the evening was upon us, we were all very excited...Leisa came in like a modern day "Mary Poppins of the kitchen," while we visited over drinks in the living room, wonderful smells started to waft through our home, and delicious food began appearing...it was delightfully surreal. Leisa interacted with our group perfectly by explaining the food and answering questions, and she complimented our evening with her professional and likable disposition. When the night was winding down, I walked in to find Leisa drying the last of the dishes - to my amazement; my kitchen looked exactly the same way it did when she'd arrived!! I wanted to applaud. And off Mary Poppins went with a smile on her face... Tell everyone who will listen, call Leisa at Everyday Gourmet!!! Thank you once again , we'll be calling you soon ;) Paige Cummings, Roswell GA
