I am currently in my ~matcha era~ and recently evolved to wanting to make my own matcha lattes at home. Tin Roof Teas' Ceremonial Uji powder was noted to be best for casual drinkers and lattes, it was around $30 for the tin (I don't recall the exact number of grams). Having made a few matcha lattes with their powder now, it is overall pretty good! The lattes are a lovely vibrant green, very umami and more on the vegetal side. Microfoam doesn't really form though (although that could be from my whisking technique, only time will tell), and there is a bit of bitterness (not overwhelming). While their matcha selection isn't extensive, they had so many teas from around the world plus items to make the perfect cup of tea. They also have a tea bar serving up fresh cups for purchase! Lots of parking available, fast service, ambiance full of comforting tea fragrance. 8/10 would recommend!

Vast variety of teas, containers, and mugs, etc. I drank the Vanilla Cherry loose leaf tea and it was smooth and flavorful. I purchased the last spoonful of it. The owner of the shop was very knowledgeable, friendly, and obviously took pride in his shop. A must stop for a tea lover.

Pricey but worth it. Tea lovers will need lots of time to look at every item. Cups, tea pots, honey, and gifts both local and international. Counter employee helped me pick an everyday loose leaf green tea. He explained the origin and tastes of 5 teas before making a final recommendation for me. Felt taken care of and listened to. Also picked up a tea brewing basket and local Cary honey. The bee pollen was a wonderful surprise. I'd been to 8 other tea and health food locations and could not find that item. Again. There are deals here and pricey items. Something for every tea lover.

Amazing selection of tea here, and tea accessories. Ask for a whiff of their aromatic teas and head to the back bar to see their options for lattes and such. They'll make you a tea to go but you need to pay and order at the register. It's fairly crowded at the holiday was a bit of disorder lining up to pay.

Tin Roof Teas in located in the Village District. They offer a large variety of teas plus accessories. You can also grab a beverage to sip on while shopping. This spot is a must visit if you enjoy tea.

Why do tea shops always have a vibe? Tin Roof Teas is a tsunami of smells as soon as you enter to be washed away by the chill, knowledgeable staff. This was a fun sensory experience this morning. The tea wall is so cool and so overwhelming. I bought a chai sample pack, which has six unique tea blends, for $30. The store has every tea accessory you could ever ask for. I highly recommend their London Fog Latte with almond milk and a dab of honey. Parking is easy in the adjacent lot.

I'm not a huge fan of tea but I still enjoyed visiting Tin Roof Teas. They have a wide variety of loose leaf tea available for purchase as well as honey, snacks, tea pots, candles, and more. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable, and were more than happy to answer any questions. At their tea bar you can order a drink hot or iced, and can choose any tea from the store to try, not just the ones listed on the menu. Overall a super cute and unique shop!

Ask the Community - Tin Roof Teas

Are there areas to comfortably sit down and enjoy the tea?

There are places to sit outside and they do have a small bar area inside. It is great when the weather is nice.

Service was top notch with friendly folks greeting you the moment you enter the doors. Our bartender was so sweet and so welcoming. The chocolate brownie is thick and rich, but not too sweet, and the marshmallow cream is divine, especially with the ice cream. A lot of their drinks and gin based, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but I always find something I can enjoy. The service is great and relatively quick, and everyone I've met there is kind and willing to help. The inside is a bit small, so smaller crowds are better and it does tend to get crowded later in the evening and on weekends. The outside street sitting area is nice too and hopefully will be fully fixed soon. Overall a great places to stop for drinks and desserts after a nice meal! And the menu rotates seasonally so you'll always have the chance to try something new!
