I purchased a sofa in November 2024. It arrived damaged and I sent photos as requested by the store manager, "Florentina." In January 2025 part of the sofa was replaced, but not all the damaged pieces. The pieces that arrived were also damaged: scuffed fabric and panel on the back coming off. I have called repeatedly and left numerous messages, sent additional photos with no follow up. It is now April 2025 and Florentina still refuses to return any calls or provide any follow up on replacing the damaged sofa or offering any kind of discount. I will absolutely never buy another piece of furniture from this company and warn anyone in Albuquerque not to purchase anything from them. Bought some furniture pieces from ve location at Coronado Mall. We had to keep calling after a month for updates. All they could say is they didn't have control over how long it took to come when at times of purchase they said 2-3 weeks. Now almost a month an half they don't have control. If they have the furniture there in stock buy it. If not don't. Not worth the hassle. And you call and they are not even sympathetic they get upset your not patient when they are the ones under delivering. 3/10 update. Called for the fourth time. And was told they would ask a manager and even took my number a lady named Marcia. And it's the 15th and not a call or anything. 03/16 my husband rec a call to pick up the item finally. They sent to a different location where he didn't buy the piece but he went. Then when he got there that it wasn't there it was at the place he purchased it. He waited over 20 min to find that out. I purchased a makeup vanity from Furniture City in Albuquerque. The Salesman Kevin stated it was in stock and proceeded to draw the paperwork and take payment. He then left for a few minutes and returned tell me the item was not in stock and could expect it to be shipped 2-5 weeks. I ordered the item December 12. My credit card was charged immediately even though the item was on back order. I am accustomed to being charged once the item is received, as that is what businesses I have dealt with in the past has done. This was a 1600.00 vanity. The item did not arrive in 5 weeks. I had to call the store at the 7 week mark since I did not receive a call from them for any updates. I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on. I called back and spoke to a manager Florentina. Instead of any apologies this woman proceeded to berate me when I was trying to explain what had happened and my dissatisfaction with the customer service and the misrepresentation/ lack of call from the store with updates of the entire transaction. I asked for a discount and she flatly told me no because the item was already discounted 15% when I purchased it. She said there was nothing she could do for me. It was not a misrepresentation at all Kevin clearly lied to us to make a sale. She even threatened to place notes in my file for the other managers to read because after my frustration of not getting anywhere with this woman I had to threaten to file a complaint with the State Consumer Board and the BBB, as well as writing reviews on Yelp etc. Florentina after arguing with her for 10 minutes stated she would call me back in 20 minutes so she could discuss this with her managers to determine if I was the one being unreasonable. I had to call her back and her offer was a 100.00 off and free delivery. She also stated the item would then be in by end of February. The next day I received a call from her stating that the vanity would not be in until the end of March. I called back and spoke to another manager Alicia who was very professional and apologized for over promising and under delivering. I canceled the order and was fully refunded. Alicia asked that I consider giving the business another chance when shopping in the future, asking specifically for her to take care of our needs. I am writing this review so that if you choose to do business with them you are very aware of the salesperson tactics and do not sign any paperwork unless it is clearly in stock and available that day. If I had done in store financing I would have paid monthly payments and interest on an item that maybe would have arrived 3.5 months later, and possibly longer.I placed it on my credit card and paid it within 2 weeks or I also would have been making payments and interest accrued on an item I had not received. If you do decide to give them your business my advice is to ask for Alisha and don't buy unless it is in stock. I will never give them my business again because my experience is not isolated based on their reviews on Yelp. The isolated 4/5 star reviews I suspect are planted reviews to boost their rating on yelp. Too many horrific experiences similar to mine. I absolutely do not recommend Furniture City. They sold me a table and was told that the leaf would come with it. Day of delivery I called asking for it because it wasn't delivered with the table. Was told I would get a phone call back and still haven't received one, more than two weeks later. Tried to call yesterday and it goes straight to voicemail when I call from my phone, but went through when I called from my husbands phone. Was told I'd get a phone call before 5pm yesterday and NEVER got a call. Just want to know what the resolution is instead of keeping me in the dark. Furniture City just recently (Nov 2019) opened a new location in Coronado Mall. I moved to Albuquerque a few months ago and I bought a dining table set from them. Kevin, the salesman that helped me was located in another store (3821 Menaul Blvd) but was transferred here and I followed him because I received a good deal and nice attention from him. Do not shop here!!!!! I purchased furniture (paid in full) on September 5th 2022. I did not hear anything for 6 weeks at 8 weeks I called them. They said it was an issue with waiting on a ship. So I waited I finally got it on December 5th I was so excited. I was promised that they would help us move our old furniture out because neither my husband or I can move furniture ourselves. When the two men came. I told them how excited I was and happy that they were there. They looked at me like I was an idiot. I reminded them that they needed to move my old furniture out to our garage and to the street for one of the pieces. One of the gentleman dragged the pieces across my house and out of the house no lifting anything up off of the ground. Because of this the piece going out on the street started falling apart so by the time he got it to the street it was in pieces. I have never had anyone be so rude in my life I felt such anger from this person. I believe this is his job delivering furniture right? By the way I still tipped him because I had planned on it. Was there some glitches along the way, yes. From the store to the warehouse they went way beyond making sure things were corrected. I ordered about $2000 worth of furniture in December and still haven't received it. I understand that the holidays and the pandemic have made things slower, so I figured it would be a few weeks. Not once did I receive an update or status about what had arrived, or an accurate description of what had arrived. Now, for maybe 3 weeks, my furniture has apparently been sitting on a truck......not being delivered. This is particularly at the store at 3821 Menaul Blvd NE. They sometimes don't answer their phones and sometimes direct you to the other store which they claim is for delivery, but, they are actually just dumping customers onto the manager at the other store. My furniture was scheduled to be delivered a couple of weeks ago, but I told them that I have to work and I wouldn't be there and to schedule it for the weekend. It was scheduled again for yesterday. So I sit at home all day to make sure I was there......you know, because I am mindful of other people's time. I called in the early afternoon to check. As the sun started going down, I called again to find out "something happened to our trucks" and it would have to be postponed until Monday. Again, no one was even going to notify me and just wait until closing time. So I arranged for Monday morning before I go to work. I call today, (and will have to hunt them down tomorrow) and they say that they can get me in by the 25th. I told them that this wasn't acceptable and that it needs to be delivered tomorrow before I leave for work. The same person that always answers the phone always has to "speak with the manager," so she can get you off the phone, but clearly, there is no one managing that store. The manager at the other store actually works. Deliveries start at 8 AM by the way, not the three different times I've been given by this store. I will be finished paying for this merchandise next month and the finance company actually pushed the 100-day buyout option to June after I informed them I hadn't received my merchandise. After this, I am never using this business again and I hope they are liquidated. read more

After waiting over a month for our bed, the Sevant plush they lied to us and told us the name had been changed and gave us a Sealy mattress hybrid. When the one we ordered was all memory foam. So beware they are full of crap. After this we reorder the icomfort 1000 cushion firm. We wait another month and call them. This time they told us that the matress had just came out And was brand new. So I call Serta and was told the mattress was created in early 2018. These people just lie. Lie. Lie. Shop directly from Serta or the brand of matress. This store is a freaking joke. Not to mention when you shop from Serta they have free delivery. Oh on top of that since they gave us the wrong matress we have been sleeping on a plastic covered bed because of there mistake. Beware beware beware. We purchased a bedroom set from Furniture City in early November. The nightstand drawer never worked right and it had a small knick on the top of it. I called and was told to email customer service with the details. I did that mid November. Heard nothing. I then called and they said someone would call me. Heard nothing. I called again. Nothing. My husband drove there and spoke with the manager who said the service department would call us that week. That was 2.5 weeks ago. We still haven't heard anything. I understand businesses are having issues providing timely service under covid restrictions, but that does not include blatant lies. From what I've read on other sites this issue was there before Covid Ordered a sectional in September with a 4-8 week delivery period. Plenty of time even during Covid. Called at the 8 week mark and was told it was on its way from El Paso, a five hour drive from where I live. Waited another week, still no call that it was ready for delivery, so I called and was told it would be another week? Not sure how it goes from being on a truck 5 hours away to another week of waiting? Another week goes by still nothing, it goes on like this for another month, now they are way over the 4-8 week estimate, Thanksgiving comes and goes, still nothing. Told it will be another 2 weeks. Finally went in on Dec 20th and asked for a refund, warehouse manager looks me in eye and says, your sectional will be here tomorrow morning, it's coming from California. How did it do from El Paso to California??? That means they must have passed through here right? Couldn't they have dropped it off? He pretends like he didn't hear me. Next day comes, no call. So I call and now it's going to be another week which puts us in 2021. I said I just don't believe you and asked for a refund. After searching for several years for a nice looking high-back couch and loveseat, we fell in love with the pair we found at Furniture City. Since we needed a new mattress as well, we chose to purchase all three at the same time from this store. The furniture in this store is gorgeous! Chris was one of the few salesmen that I have ever met whom I really liked working with. He's professional, personable and not the high pressure type I find in most businesses. Thank you for your help and kindness, Chris. Unlike some of the other reviewers, we were told four to six weeks to get our purchases, and everything was delivered in about two weeks. The delivery men were fast, efficient and very professional as well. Our thanks to them! After using our new items for a few days, we can truly say we LOVE the couch and loveseat! My husband (who is the one of us who has trouble sleeping) seems to be sleeping better than ever before on our new mattress. I'm still adjusting to the change. Where to start.... so granted that when I purchased a bed and coffee table back in April of 2021 I understood it was in the middle of a pandemic and that things could take a while but this store assured that we would get these delivered in 8-12 weeks. The 12th week rolled by and not even a call was made. We called the store and the clerk was extremely rude. We were given a new date of the first week of July. The first week of July came and still no furniture. We called again. We were given a new day in August. At this point we were getting frustrated with the stored because they don't even have the decency to inform us about the changes. Extremely poor customer service. We ended up deciding to return both the coffee table and the bed. There was a risk we were willing to accept which was 25% cancelation fee. Upon of the arrival to the store, a clerk told us they do not accept returns. Even though we didn't even get anything delivered. The supervisor ended up authorizing a full return after he tried to convince us to let them try contacting four other warehouses where they could have had both purchases. At that point I was in disbelief, because where was this attempt the first time we called when the 12th week rolled by? Really poor customer serviced and bad experience. They informed me on the phone that replacement parts had been ordered and were expected in 4-6 weeks. After numerous follow-ups over a period of months, it became apparent to me that the store had no intention of addressing my problems. Bought a couch; it was delivered within the estimated time (3 weeks), the recliners worked as advertised. That night it developed a problem; one side would not fully collapse, it was catching on itself and wouldn't close. We called 6 times and never got a response 5 weeks later the delivery guys showed up unannounced; and sure enough, its defective. Now they will have to order an entire mechanism for replacement. We weren't offered a replacement because it was "special order". News to us, it was on their display floor. How is that special order? I went to pick up two additional dining room chairs. And told I could get them immediately. It turns out they were at their other location and that if I drove down there, they would call ahead and let them know I was coming. Whether this was done or not, it took me over an hour to get the chairs. First I was told it was my fault for not calling 30 minutes before I was going to arrive at the second warehouse. I would call and they would have no idea when it would be here and I was given a different date every time as of when my sofa would arrive. When I asked to cancel my order and speak to the manager the manager was not in office for two weeks and they cannot process my cancellation. Finally got a hold of the manager and they said my couch was delivered and I can pick it up. When trying to pick it up they again could not confirm that they had my couch even though the sales person said it was delivered. Said they would give me a call back but never did. From my experience and all the poor reviews I can tell you... once they get your money you mean nothing to them! The salesperson was conniving and deceptive. He sold me a mattress cover that he knew full well I can get just about anywhere else for 25% of what they charge. I tried to return it unopened less than 24 hours later and the manager was a rude, disrespectful little guy. He said they don't take returns of any kind of bedding items due to COVID. It does not say this in their policy on the receipt the customer signs. Nor is it posted anywhere inside or outside of the store. He would not take the item back even though it had never been opened. He had no legal policy to deny the return. It was an off-the-shelf item and all he had to do was wipe it off and put it back on the shelf. They are greedy, deceptive people. I returned an unopened air mattress to a different store and they just wiped it off and put it back on the shelf. I strongly advise you to shop at a reputable store or chain and not Furniture City. This place has the most stunning, high quality furniture, but the customer service is absolute garbage. My husband bought me a $2500 vanity for my birthday on 12/20/18 and today, after a month and a half, we finally got the replacement glass that had originally arrived broken. They initially took down the wrong phone number (when he bought the item) and were asked to change it multiple times. They never did and blamed us every time for not being able to reach us (at a wrong number!). They were rude every single time we dealt with them. Instead of being rude a) after we bought an expensive piece of furniture from you and paid extra for assembly and b) finally bringing the new glass, maybe say "thank you for your business and sorry for OUR mistake(S)." I had bought my couches from here about 6-7 weeks ago. And when I had bought them they had told me that they would be in, in 2 weeks. It's now week 7 and they haven't even shipped them yet. Every time I call, they inform me that they will be shipped out 'next week'. I have already made my monthly payments on these couches and have not received them. If I could give it no stars I would. my African American husband and I had a very bad Experience here with the costumer service normally I wouldn't have my race input but it was clear as day it felt like it played a part in the lack of costumer service we experienced. 1st strike We came in the store looking around for about 15-30mins we saw employees who did not have current costumers to help and they saw us and not 1 person greeted us or asked if we needed anything they then walked away and spoke to different looking costumers. 2nd strike we wanted to know a price of a couch my husband shouted out "can I get help over here." People LOOKED but NO ONE RESPONDED! 3rd strike we sat on a couch an older lady came and said "Is everything ok" I stated "No the employees in the floor here are ignoring us yet making eye contact and costumer service is bad". She stated "That's good" and walked away. Now I hope she just didn't hear what I said clearly but that also speaks volumes that she also wasn't listening. Me being a nurse and my husband being a tow truck driver we are BIG on costumer service. We help people on a daily basis so to experience that was very heartbreaking. I hope no one of any color Will have to experiences the lack of costumer service and acknowledgment as a human being in a place of business where I would consider spending my hard earned money. If I could give no stars i would. Please read entire review it is long but has useful information. First off about a year ago we purchased a bedroom set. When I picked up my items everything was in boxes except a night stand . When I asked if it was the floor model they assured me it was not but when I went inside there was one night stand missing from the display that was just there. They said the would order a replacement that never came. Now we were thinking of ordering a couch but told the salesman Mo who claimed to be part owner of the store why we were a little cautious of buying from them again.He said he wanted to make things right and offered free delivery and a slight discount on the extended warranty. We went ahead with the purchase and everything was fine until delivery time. We received a call from the receptionist on Monday who said Thursday and Friday were available and she would call me back to set a time. We never got a call back. That Thursday I get a call from the driver saying they were there to deliver the couches. I was not expecting a delivery as they never called me back and i was not available at the time. I guess they expected me to take 2 days off and just wait for them to show up. I call the store and get the same receptionist i talked to on Monday she asked if I could be available between 12 and 4 the time being 1:10 so she must be on a different time zone. I said I could be there at 230 and she said that wouldnt work and the next day was not available. I said just cancel my order and she very quickly reminded me there is a 30% restocking fee. I said there would be no fee and wanted to talk to a manager. Just my luck he had just stepped out and would call me back . After that she was no longer nice and became snippy. The general manager calls me back and i explain what happened and instead of trying to fix it his reply is also that there is a 30% restocking fee. So i say well the guy that sold us the furniture is the owner let me talk to him. He advises there are no owners in the building and wanted to know who my salesman was. I told him he should know and should have the paperwork showing who it was. He said Mo is your salesman and asked if i wanted to talk to him. So Mo gets on the line and i asked why the general manager said there are no owners when he said he was owner. He said yes I am part owner . This makes no sense to me. I tell Mo what is going on and he also reminds me several times there is a 30% restocking fee and him even being a owner cannot cancel the fee. I asked if this is the way they treat all their customers who have issues with their service and his response was yes he actually said yes. So basically they rope you into a sale and once they have your signature can treat you however they want because either way they get money either from the product you buy or from the crazy high restocking fee which in my case would have been over $700.
