The owner (Steve) on the other hand, was the worst we've ever dealt with in our furniture purchasing life. Extremely unfriendly, irritable every time we went in. I'd been to his store 4 times; once to look at a dresser set my husband found online, once to bring my husband to show him the set he liked (but purchased a whole different set for a total of $1800 [with tax]), once to check the status of our delivery, and once to talk to the owner about a scratch on one of the dressers and to bring in a knob that wasn't screwing in to a drawer on one of the dressers. The 3rd time we went in (to check the status), we were having lunch at Moonies and just thought, because we were in the same parking lot, let's just check the status. We were excited about our new dressers. When we walked in, Steve had his feet up, watching a football game (no biggie, it's his store). When we asked our sales lady about the status, Steve chummed in and said in an irritated voice, "you JUST ordered it a week ago! Of course it's not ready yet!" Our response to him was, "we realize it's not going to ready, we're just excited about it, and wanted to check the status." When our furniture was delivered on Saturday, 1/18/2020, the delivery guys were very nice. They removed the packaging from each dresser and then noticed there was a rather noticeable white paint mark on the top of the wood stained dresser. One of the delivery guys tried to stain over top of the mark with one of his pens. He noticeably made the mark worse and offered to exchange the dresser for a new one. My husband called the store Sunday afternoon and mentioned the delivery driver told us we would get a replacement dresser. Steve refused and only offered $100 discount. My husband then told him we would be at the store to discuss the discount in an hour. Upon arriving at the furniture store the 4th time, Steve argued with my husband about getting a replacement dresser. Steve also told us he'd never seen us in his store, but then when my husband mentioned he had his feet up watching football, Steve then said, "oh when you came in last Sunday?". Steve started to get extremely loud and angry while arguing with my husband, so we just decided to take the $100. The unfortunate part of this situation was the sales lady that helped us through most of the process was extremely friendly and now they will never get our business again for concern Steve is not out to make the customer happy.

    I had a very unfortunate experience, primarily due to the man who was incredibly rude and…read moredismissive each of the three times we spoke. I ordered barstools through their website on June 6. The listing said 2/CN and I ordered a quantity of 2 which basic math tells us should equal 4 barstools total. The price of $81.68 did seem low compared to what I was seeing on Wayfair ($133) or Target ($118) but they are called "Texas DISCOUNT Furniture" and they were running a "moving sale" to boot so I figured it was just a good deal. Fast forward 23 days later and I get a phone call saying my barstools have arrived and I find out there are only 2 of them. I inquired why there were only 2 when I had clearly ordered 4 and the man on the phone immediately went on the attack insisting I only ordered 2. I hung up but called back after I reviewed my order confirmation and checked their website where it clearly lists the barstools as either 1/CN or 2/CN. The man continued to insist that even though I ordered the 2/CN listing I would have had to select a quantity of 4 to get 4. This makes no sense. I asked if maybe there was a pricing error or mistake on the website and instead of considering that possibility for a fraction of a second the man continued to berate me. I've worked in e-commerce for 15 years and I've dealt with pricing errors, it happens and I'm sympathetic to that. I even said "if this was a pricing error, I understand, let's discuss it and figure out a fair price" but the man continued to insist there was no error and I had only ordered 2. I asked if they had an additional 2 that I could purchase and he insisted they do not and it would be weeks before they would get them. As I need 4, I asked if I could cancel the order and receive a refund. After hanging up, I sent a note through their contact form on their website (because they apparently do not have an email address) asking to confirm that, as discussed, my order would be cancelled and I would receive a full refund. Instead of replying to the email, the rude man called me back leading to a third unpleasant conversation where he essentially asked how I could be so stupid to think that I had ordered 4. Note: To be fair, he did not use the word stupid but it was heavily implied by his argumentative and demeaning tone. I'm giving them two stars because I truly don't expect them to sell the barstools at a loss for what was clearly a pricing error on their website but I do expect kindness or at least decency instead of being attacked for what was obviously their mistake. Now I have no barstools and had to order them from Wayfair and pay for upgraded shipping as I need them this week. I really would have preferred to give that money to a local establishment but sadly Texas Discount Furniture made it pretty much impossible to do business with them.

I had no idea this location was an actual warehouse. AMAZING! Honestly, I could spend hours here and it still wouldn't be enough. I went in on a Friday night after work and there was only a handful of ppl in the store. LOVED THIS FOR ME. When I shop for anything, I just want to look around without feeling like someone is watching me, wondering why I'm taking so long, and/or asking if I need help over and over again. I love that this was not the case here. I ran into a few workers through out the store with whom I exchanged a smile and head nod but other than that, was left alone while I perused this enormous store. I stopped in originally to look at the art work and was not disappointed at all. There were so many beautiful items to look through. Everything was nicely arranged and the store was super clean. Truthfully, it had been a hard year and we wanted to do something that would feel cheerful. We parked and as we were walking in someone collecting carts curtly said "we're closed". I said "oh, it says you close in 15 minutes" which she replied "yeah well, they're not going to sell you anything." Cool. We brushed it off and walked in and two employees looked at us and one said "we're closed now, not enough time to shop." So we said "we were just going to look at the Christmas trees for 5 minutes" and the woman shook her head clearly frustrated. We walked over to the Christmas tree aisle and stood in silence for a beat. My husband turned and said "this doesn't feel joyful anymore". We could have used any of the following: kindness, holiday spirit, or anyone to simply stfu and keep their misery to themselves. Instead we were called out to rudely by two separate employees. You can keep your overpriced home goods and we'll happily find somewhere else to shop.
