Mr. Velez accepted funds for parts that needed to be ordered for the repair & failed to return numerous phone messages left on his answering service since accepting the funds. After his second ( & last) service call, we noted that the receipt he provided was generic with no printed business name, which, in retrospect, raised concerns. A follow-up business search with the Sec'y of State of Ohio shows he has not filed business documents with the State of Ohio & has no "Certificte in Goodstanding". Due to his failure to complete the repair as he promised on his last service call & our failure to thoroughly verify his credentials we were obligated to purchase a new appliance. This review is to alert the community that Mr. Jose Velez is operating J & J Appliance unethically & to prevent others from being scammed by this disreputable, untrustworthy individual.
