Extension of my previous review because it was off putting that this business would prefer to deflect than accept feedback. 1. Regarding my pup contracting Giardia--I already stated in my original review that I understand parasites are common and my puppy was probably more susceptible, so I wasn't placing blame on the facility. Just a warning that these things happen. However I would like to point out that my dog did not go anywhere else besides home and their facility (since theyre insinuating that it could've been contracted elsewhere). Additionally, the fact that Furrtropolis requires a negative fecal test every 6 months is a warning in itself that any dog could be carrying a parasite between that time, so this requirement isn't full proof. This is just the nature of daycares and boarding facilities, and it wasn't the sole reason I decided we wouldn't be returning. 2. Regarding kennel cough--again just spreading the warning of what my dog experienced coming back from the facility. I'm fully aware they don't have control over the health of every dog that enters. 3. Records show that we were in contact, because as I stated in my review, I would have to continously badger the staff in order to get any updates. Yes, responses were prompt but that wasn't the issue. It was getting updates to begin with, without me having to reach out on the 4th day of boarding to ask how things went. I've seen other boarding places have cameras or provide daily updates (on meals, training sessions, nap time, etc)--totally fine if this isn't one of those places and you're a dog parent that doesn't mind. It's just not for me. *I also want to clarify that I directly expressed to the staff multiple times of wanting more communication/updates and it not being met before I came to yelp* 4. This just further proves my point on the poor communication from this facility, the fact that I wasn't made aware my pup might have had a decrease in appetite or activity level is serious alarm bells. Both of those things would indicate to me that something is off since my dog normally has endless energy and a black hole for a stomach. At the very least, a simple update that my dog just finished his additional 1:1 training session/1:1 play session that I paid extra for would've been nice. My dog is the love of my life and I'm sure other pet parents feel the same. It's important for me to share my experiences to provide insight for others and so the business can improve for others. read more

Our family is a Furrtropolis family. We love the Furrtropolis programs, the facility and especially the people. Whether our pup is there for daycare or boarding, they often have training or grooming appointments available - which have been great in our experience. The fact that our pup can be engaged and pampered while outside our home is awesome. The Furrtropolis staff also like to experiment - we had a 1 year birthday party there for our little guy with some of his favorite Furrtropolis playmates as guests. The party was super fun - for the humans and the pups. Our dog is excited every time we drop him off. He runs in their outdoor yard, they have a huge indoor rink and also activity rooms and comfortable individual enclosures for lots of doggie daytime rest and overnight stays. One of the trainers in particular is a fave for our dog, whom he greets with jumping kisses that are met with affection rather than judgment. Furtropolis is so much more than doggie daycare and kennelling, it's grooming, agility training and behaviour guidance. Mireille, Rubin and the team at Furtropolis are wonderful and caring. Stella, my furbaby was one of Furtropolis first dogs. When we pulled up to the door to drop off, Stella would bound out of the car and wiggle in delight to see the staff. That's how you know your dog loves and trusts your kennel choice. I highly recommend Furtropolis- this is the best kennel and doggie daycare in San Jose. Stella hated going to other places we had tried first. I am so thankful to have found Marielle and Furtropolis. Sadly I had to say goodbye to Stella earlier this week. She was 13 and had a great life, but I feel that adding Furtropolis to Stella's world made her last two years her best. And for that I am very thankful . read more

My dog is fearful at times, but absolutely loves coming to Furrtropolis where he is greeted by genuine, animal loving staff that know his name, and then he is able to play and build confidence with other dogs. Thank you Mireille and the Furrtropolis team for taking such great care of our dog for both daycare and boarding! We previously went to another place but one day our dog suddenly started refusing to go into the building. Luckily around that time Furrtropolis had just opened so we decided to make the switch. Now our dog always gets excited when we reach the parking lot :) We appreciate the variety of classes that are offered during daycare - our dog really enjoys the enrichment and having a job to do! He especially loves flyball and urban locating (rat class) with Michelle! We've also been able to take classes with our dog and it's provided us opportunities to bond with our dog and gave us exposure to dog sports that we didn't even know existed. We've also had positive experiences with boarding as well. We appreciated the texts and photos so we knew how our dog was doing. The IG account is also great - we love seeing the day to day happenings and the training recaps. The whole team is really friendly and accommodating and we always trust our dog is in good hands. It's a brand new facility that just opened up in the San Jose area, but the owner has a great background with pets. We're bringing in our pet for boarding in a few weeks. Highly recommend their self wash stations! I have tried self wash stations before and was looking for one in San Jose and stumbled across this gem! Normally I give her a bath at home, but since she is a bigger dog this is so much more convenient. The room is small but it has 2 sinks so 2 dogs can be washed at the same time. After washing, the high powered dryer saved me so much time drying and getting out all the loose fur (she is a chronic shedder). I wish more places offered this service, especially for dogs who are nervous around strangers, this is a nice stress free alternative and promotes positive bath time and bonding time. My pup was more calm here than bath time at home! The staff is also amazing and gave her treats afterwards! This will be my monthly go to now for baths! Can't wait to be back! We were super anxious to board our fur baby for the first time, but the staff at Furrtropolis were so kind and reassuring. They don't have live cams, but they kept us updated with texts, photos, and Instagram posts. Our dog was nervous and wouldn't eat unless hand-fed, and the staff gladly did that the whole time, something we really appreciated. The facility is clean, organized, and well-maintained. My dog Gooby is usually very anxious with grooming, but she genuinely likes the team here -- which says a lot. They're gentle, patient, and always take great care of her. This was my first time using the self washing station. As a dog groomer I was very happy with the tub and dryer setup. There wasn't a time limit for the wash and dry which was very appreciated due to my having a long haired dog. 10/10 would recommend to any pet parent. My dog Hattie has been attending day care at Furrtropolis for the last few months and she absolutely LOVES it! She is always so excited when we get there. It's clear how much Mireille loves pets and is very knowledgeable about dogs. I also appreciated that Furrtropolis does an initial evaluation to get to know each dog and make sure it is the right environment. The dogs are well cared for and get plenty of attention from people who seem to really love dogs. The facility is brand new, clean and safe and the dogs have plenty of access to fresh water. They also do fun activities you can pay $20 extra and your dog can participate in for added mental stimulation and training. Hattie is a HUGE fan of rat Thursdays and it always makes me happy to see the videos they share and how much fun she is having. I've tried both Wag and Petsmart in the past and Furrtropolis is hands down the best day care. We were looking for an affordable doggie daycare for my hyperactive doodle, and this could not have come at a better time. I was extremely nervous during the initial evaluation because my dog was continuously barking at the poor owner, Mireille. But she was very calm and patient with him, and somehow his behavior wasn't a dealbreaker. She also mentioned that even if on the off chance she deemed him unable to be around other dogs he'd still be able to go to daycare he'd just have one of the rooms to himself and have one on one time with a trainer which I thought was really cool. I asked my many questions and she answered them patiently and with ease and showed how knowledgeable she is which made me very confident that we can go ahead and do the complimentary half-day evaluation they offer. During the half day, Mireille said she had him in a room first so he could get to know her and then she slowly introduced him to the smaller dogs and the larger dogs both of which she said he did very well and said she's confident that he would be fine in full-time daycare with the other dogs, which was such a relief. I love that everything was one my dog's timing and she never pushed him into a place until she knew he was ready to take that next step. The evaluation process and Mireille sets the doggie daycare bar very high. I also really appreciate the different classes you can sign up for separately to give your pup some extra mental stimulation during daycare. Like last week they had a rat scent class that was only an extra 20 dollars which was an incredible deal. I really don't have any complaints or suggestions but I see on the client portal that there may be an option to tune into a webcam to check in on your dog in the near future which would only be the cherry on top of the already marvelous cake to me. I'm nosy so I would love to have the option to spy on my dog but not having that option doesn't take away for the incredible facility Mereille has worked so hard to build. My dog has been going to daycare almost every day for almost two weeks now and i hear nothing but good things about his time at daycare. My hyperactive-seven-month-old puppy always leaves extremely exhausted which is no easy feat. We're lucky to have found this facility with incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff who genuinely care about animals. read more
