We've been coming to Lush Spaw for years, both the Winchester location and more recently this Cambrian Park location, even when we were living further north when Lush Spaw wasn't the closest option. Our dog is a less common breed, so we like to find a groomer that will take care to try and groom somewhat close to how he should look. Antonia does a good job and our dog never shows signs of excessive stress after grooming - he always comes home happy and smelling nicer, usually with a surprise bandana design (this last time of donuts!) The charges are on par with most grooming places and they'll sometimes have promotions or discounts on certain days of the week. We're happy to come here and trust they'll do a good job. You can see the big difference before and after.

I'm not sure who groomed my puppies but they did a fabulous job if you can get back to me so I could have them do it again. I would love them to do it again. They look so adorable and so cute.

I noticed other reviews complaining about trimming but EVERY time I go in Cynthia reviews the style I want. Lush Spa did a great job grooming my Maltese/ shi-tsu. Her hair gets very knotty when it's longer so most groomers just shave very short, at Lush spa they took the time to brush and detangle her, so she didn't have to be cut super short. read more

We've taken our elderly husky in for a bath at the Union Ave. location. They were very gentle with him, which we really appreciated. He looked beautiful afterwards. Today, we took our 16 1/2 year-old poodle in for a full groom. Frank was very gentle with her. She looks wonderful. Frank also made us aware of a special grooming for senior dogs. From the moment I walked in with my dog we had a good experience. The lobby was clean and didn't smell like wet dog. Willow was taken back quickly. She was brought in for a flea treatment grooming. But if, during bathing, there was no evidence of fleas and she was going to get a very conditioning skin treatment. Either way was a good option. I received a phone call two hours later and Willow came out looking beautiful and happy. read more

We have been taking our Lab Moose to Lush Spaw since they opened the Union location years ago. Moose was seeing Eric for a few years and he was great with Moose. When we found out Eric was no longer working there I was very sad, and wondering who would be a good fit for Moose. Well, today we had Moose's bath appt and his Groomer was Aqua. She was AMAZING!!! Nova is a little skittish during grooming and it takes someone with experience and great patience to be able to succeed. ;) She was very sweet with Nova from the beginning and by the end Nova seemed to like her which is amazing on its own. The cost seemed very reasonable at around $150 after tip with the first time discount, so that was a bonus since I didn't know about the $15 off for first timers. She has never bled before from a nail trim. I know she is anxious with nail trims but has never required a muzzle and other places either let me know and ask me to hold her or have someone else hold her which she does fine with. I was told the price AFTER they had started cutting her nails and was not told of the charge prior. Still would not recommend this place even with a free coupon and would rather go to Lush Spaw on Winchester where I have never had a problem with their wonderful groomers.

I do want to mention that the staff was friendly on each of my accounts. I went in hopeful--the tour was a nice gesture, and I appreciated that they offer cameras for monitoring. Unfortunately, the week I brought my dog in, the cameras were down due to Wi-Fi issues, which I understand can happen. However, my concerns started after the first day. When I picked Maui up, he urgently needed to go poo. After we got home (about a 45-minute drive), he drank almost an entire bowl of water. This made me question whether he was being given enough water or regular opportunities to relieve himself during the day. The same thing happened the second day. When I picked him up, he immediately drank water from a bowl they had outside immediately and had an extremely long pee--lasting over a minute--which again made me feel like he wasn't being let out frequently enough. On top of that, I noticed a very unpleasant smell coming from him in the car. When I checked, there were stains on his chin and belly that smelled far worse than urine. This raised concerns about cleanliness, either in the kennels or play areas (which were not included in the tour). I truly wanted this to be a good, budget-friendly option, but based on my experience, I would rather pay more elsewhere to ensure my dog is properly cared for. Saving money isn't worth compromising my pet's well-being.

Rebecca also asked for permission to take our shy puppy to a puppy social while he was in her care. Regarding my pup contracting Giardia--I already stated in my original review that I understand parasites are common and my puppy was probably more susceptible, so I wasn't placing blame on the facility. Just a warning that these things happen. However I would like to point out that my dog did not go anywhere else besides home and their facility (since theyre insinuating that it could've been contracted elsewhere). Additionally, the fact that Furrtropolis requires a negative fecal test every 6 months is a warning in itself that any dog could be carrying a parasite between that time, so this requirement isn't full proof. This is just the nature of daycares and boarding facilities, and it wasn't the sole reason I decided we wouldn't be returning. 2. Regarding kennel cough--again just spreading the warning of what my dog experienced coming back from the facility. I'm fully aware they don't have control over the health of every dog that enters. 3. Records show that we were in contact, because as I stated in my review, I would have to continously badger the staff in order to get any updates. Yes, responses were prompt but that wasn't the issue. It was getting updates to begin with, without me having to reach out on the 4th day of boarding to ask how things went. I've seen other boarding places have cameras or provide daily updates (on meals, training sessions, nap time, etc)--totally fine if this isn't one of those places and you're a dog parent that doesn't mind. It's just not for me. *I also want to clarify that I directly expressed to the staff multiple times of wanting more communication/updates and it not being met before I came to yelp* 4. This just further proves my point on the poor communication from this facility, the fact that I wasn't made aware my pup might have had a decrease in appetite or activity level is serious alarm bells. Both of those things would indicate to me that something is off since my dog normally has endless energy and a black hole for a stomach. At the very least, a simple update that my dog just finished his additional 1:1 training session/1:1 play session that I paid extra for would've been nice. My dog is the love of my life and I'm sure other pet parents feel the same. It's important for me to share my experiences to provide insight for others and so the business can improve for others.

Customer service sucked coming from the manager Cindy. Lied about my dog stating that my dog tried biting the technician that was grooming her. My dog is a pitbull terrier. She is a big baby. She has never been aggressive nor try to bite anyone. Now when I tell you she's a pitbull I know automatically we think well all pit bulls are mean because I'm one to not trust pit bulls myself, but I know my own and she's a very good dog. My house got broken into a few months ago and she was scared herself and ran out the door and was outside until we came home. I had arrived a little earlier before neighbors text me to let me know she was wandering out front scared. Anyways I had taken her a few times to the Lush spa on Winchester boulevard and she did great there I asked the girls how was she they said she did good the only thing she was afraid of was the blow dryer she's scared of the noise. When I tried making an appointment over at the Winchester site they had no appointments available that week but they had told me that they had another store over on Union avenue if I wanted to take her there I said okay that would be fine. My mistake was I should have continued taking her to the same spot where she was already feeling comfortable and familiar. So the day I took her to the union avenue store which was her first time they didn't even have my phone number correct they kept thinking we were somebody else I had to tell them around three times that this was my phone number. When I left her it had been past an hour and I was concerned thinking maybe they text the wrong number since they already had me confused with somebody else so I did arrive at the store and got down and the manager Cindy asked me my name and my dog's name I told her then she said the technician said no she wasn't done yet and that she would text me so I walked out of the store got in my vehicle within 3 to 5 minutes I get the text stating that my dog is done as I'm getting off my vehicle to go inside the store the manager Cindy comes out with my dog and starts telling me that her technician told her that my dog tried to nip at her a few times and if this happens again that she will not be able to come there to their store anymore I said okay that's fine but I asked her how come they didn't tell me this when I walked in the store or why didn't they text me she had just got through telling me that my dog was doing good so none of this was making sense to me. Then I ended up going to the Winchester Lush Spaw store and ask the girls if my dog has ever given them problems they said no never I then explained how I thought one of the girls there at the store was very rude sarcastic and come to find out she ends up being the manager which is Cindy. Now Cindy tells me that I cannot bring my dog there anymore so she referred me to another grooming place that are for bulldogs. Lol! I feel that technician that was on Union avenue was already afraid of my female pitbull due to she's a pitbull and didn't have any experience maybe dealing with pitbulls maybe I don't know but I have no complaints about any of the girls at the Winchester but I feel that Cindy as a manager she handled things all wrong again I don't feel my dog try to bite the technician I think she was just afraid the whole entire time and if that was the case they should have just text me or called me and told me instead of going through all that but now I found another grooming place and they are very good with my dog she loves it there no problems nothing and the majority of their dogs that go there are all small dogs. I've been a loyal fan of Lush Spaw since moving to the South Bay in 2023, and today was my first visit to the Union location. I usually go to the Winchester spot, but I decided to check this one out! I booked an appointment with Antonia, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She used to groom my girls at the Winchester location but has now moved to this one. Antonia is incredibly friendly and transparent, and she genuinely listens to your requests, delivering exactly what you ask for. She's an exceptional groomer, and I have no criticisms or complaints about how my dogs' cuts turned out. It's evident that she has a deep love for animals, which makes the experience easier for my girls. The location is in a small shopping center with convenient parking, making it easy to drop off and pick up your pup. Plus, if you want to stick around, there are plenty of nearby places to explore while you wait. Overall, Lush Spaw continues to impress with its excellent service and caring staff. 1st time customer Maggie,. my 12 yr English Lab was overdue for full groom. She's had hard year arthritis in all paws etc. Maggie is happy, so happy. Clean ears Clean breath Clean body. I have one high anxiety shi-poo that had a horrible experience at Petco & PetSmart after getting a full groom, he got traumatized. My boy was so long overdue to have a trim because of his last experience. Lush Spaw (Ana) was AMAZING with Snoopy and I am just in awe. This is the best grooming facility I've been to. Cynthia at Lush Spaw Union Ave is an outstanding groomer ! . She bathes and trims my large goldendoodle and afterward she looks perfect. And that is no easy task because Dolly is very feisty and doesn't like to be groomed.
