Okay so honestly this is my favorite place to get sushi from. It's like you're own DIY bar where you can customize the roll or your bowl. Most times I visit here are in the evenings but it's never packed. I get in and out pretty quickly. I think it's just not top of mind for some people, but I should be in my opinion! When I order a roll, I usually do half cooked salmon, have shrimp tempura, cucumber, cream cheese, light green onion, lump crab, then top it with sweet soy (because it's the closest to an eel sauce) and spicy mayo. I decided to give fusion a try at the start of this month and the person serving me didn't even look like he wanted to be there. When i walked up to the counter the person was leaning over in the back staring at his phone with an airpod in, I had to yell to get his attention. I have been here a couple of times. Both visits were in mid-afternoon after lunch hour. Service was quick and friendly, and the serving size was decent. But frankly a little overpriced given the quality of the food. Granted I had poke bowls each time but it just did not have the fresh feel that I expect from (and why I generally love) poke. At least this location gives the feel of a fast food joint (which is ok if that's the intent). Consequently it's not fancy, and it suffers from the dirty tables that are common in these sorts of establishments. And the drink selection was mediocre at best for my tastes. I've been to this Fusian location a couple of times now. Both visits were great experiences. It's clean, friendly staff etc. Fusian curves my sushi cravings that I occasionally have. It's the fast food of sushi I call it. The only negative that I would mention and why I left one star off is the prices. My wife and I stopped for lunch and it was over forty dollars. Had me at "There's a few minute wait on rice", because I do get excited when you're next in line at a counter and they bring out a new fresh food item! Well if your in a hurry waiting for rice might not be ideal but I was like "hey sounds good to me, fresh cooked white rice heck yeah!" Plus we were offered free drinks for the wait. So no complaints there. Did not have to wait long and got in line with some other people waiting. Counter is set up like a Chipotle, you get to watch them make your food and see all the ingredients you can to choose from. You can order from their signature bowls and rolls or make your own. We took our bowls home and they were great! All the ingredients were fresh even the avocados! We had to wait a bit at the end for them to cook/heat up the gyoza, sadly they were not worth the wait. You can order chicken or veggie, we picked chicken and they were just so-so, did not really taste like anything and a bit mushy. Service was friendly, may have been some new people working as they were focused and listening for the orders. Stopped in here to pick up a roll before heading out to the airport. Also got an order of edamame and a salad with ginger dressing. I had never been before and was momentarily confused by the process of ordering. It's like Subway for sushi. The edamame was good and cooked to the perfect crunchiness. The salad could have used more of the delicious grainy ginger dressing but was good. The roll was great. Since I put what I wanted on it, it's hard to get it wrong! For my base protein, I got the salmon and then added extra salmon on half and tuna in the other half. For my veggies, I got carrots, avocado, and cucumber. Finally I topped it with sweet soy sauce and seasame seeds. All with brown rice in a seaweed wrapper. Loved it! My only gripe is that you can't tip on a credit card. You have to tip in cash. That location is not Kenwood; can management from this location go help the folks up in Centerville, please??? So, back to this location. So disappointing. That was my experience with my lunch here today. My daughter and I stopped in today for lunch. The young man who greeted us with a smile and asked what we'd like to order was pleasant. The woman who filled our order seemed like she hated her job and was irritated that we were there. The other workers weren't friendly either. Ok, no big deal. All of our food had been packed into a bag and it kind of confused us but we didn't think about it until we tried to find a place to sit. All but 2 tables have been blocked off. We looked around multiple times thinking we were missing something because surely there had to be more that two places to sit in the whole place. Because of the design of the dining room there are only 2 tables in the corner, to the right of the entrance, that are open for diners. There was two girls at one table and one woman at the other. Three total customers were able to dine in. Had we known that we would have skipped this place. We understand that these regulations are not Fusian's doing and we were not upset. But it was a huge inconvenience since we were out for lunch and shopping and there isn't any outside tables. We had to eat in the car. That is not the reason for the drop in rating. I just want others aware that they will likely be unable to dine in at this location until some of the social distancing regulations are loosened. The low rating is due to the above mentioned poor customer service and bad fish. Yep, bad fish. While eating my poke bowl I bit into a foul tasting and smelling piece of tuna. I spit it out in a napkin and continued eating, hoping it was a one-off piece. Nope. I got 2 more pieces of bad fish. At the moment I'm spitting out my 3rd piece of nasty fish my daughter starts to gag on a piece of bad fish. That was it. Both of us stopped eating and threw out more than half of our food. I used to avoid FUSIAN because from their store front I never exactly knew what they were until one day my wife and I just walked in and loved what they served. Americanized asian cuisine that's vegan friendly. I prefer their bowels over sushi to me more filling and bit more ingredients.
