This is a very unique experience. The drinks are served by robot. The sushi comes out in plates on a conveyor belt right next to the booth and you just pick which ones you want. You can also order from the menu and those items are delivered via a small semi truck. The sushi was good, I liked the ocean fin rolls the best.

I don't know why I waited this long to dine here. My friends at work rave about this place. They told me to be careful, because you can get sucked in and purchasing more than you have to. So it's a sushi bar with a revolving conveyor. They have everything from appetizers, sushi, and desserts. You can order from a kiosk machine. It's delivered by a small train. Your drinks are delivered by a robot. Yes we still have servers that will guide and help you along the line but it's an experience. Be careful, I was not prepared for this so I was grabbing everything from the conveyor and it can get costly. From the kiosks we ordered: Hot sake large Edamame Tuna pizza Salmon avocado roll From the belt, we were grabbing everything from mass sushi and desserts. The food was epic and I really enjoyed our time. My advice is that you come here on an empty stomach and eat your heart desires. That's it. Love it here. I would definitely come back.

Let's start with the positives: the bullet train that delivers your food is cool, and the conveyor belt runs smoothly. Service is interesting in the way that you've got a waiter, a tablet, and a robot all involved. Besides that, this is some of the worst sushi I've had. It looks like sushi, sure, but the taste doesn't do it any justice. At $3.35 per plate, it's expensive for what you get, especially compared to other revolving sushi chains. There's no automatic plate counting, no fun prizes or rewards, just kind of nothing for the price. If all you want is not-so-fresh fish wrapped in rice and seaweed and drowned in random sauces, maybe this works for you. Personally, I think this place tries too hard to make the sushi unconventional and trendy instead of just focusing on good taste. The Hot Cheetos roll was especially bad. The Cheetos were stale, like they'd been sitting out for days. It just didn't work, none of the rolls did. Overall, the place feels more like a gimmick than a spot for good sushi. Try it once and never come back type of deal for me.

My lady and I had been wanting to try a revolving sushi place for a while and we're glad we did so with some close friends. The place itself was great too with awesome staff and great food. The atmosphere is absolutely like something straight from Tokyo (I spent a little time there years ago). Each plate coming around on the conveyor is priced at $3.35 a piece and there's a plethora of options coming around all the time. You can order bigger dishes and drinks (including adult libations) from a touchscreen at each table. I could tell you everything we got, but I lost count mere minutes into our dinner, because everything looked great. This makes it a bit dangerous because your eyes become bigger than your stomach. Still, we all had a blast, and we loved all the food. The desserts were great too. Try the tempura Oreos if you have enough room. My lady and I will absolutely be going back.

This place was packed for Friday night dinner. Robot trays deliver drinks to the table, and a waitress kindly cleared our table of plates every so often. As for the food, most of the roll options don't feature much actual fish, just a lot of sauce, fried tempura, cream cheese, imitation crab, etc. It's personally not my preferred taste. Many rolls were also very inconsistently sized across plates. I think that most of the draw comes from the novelty of revolving sushi. At the price of $3.25 for most plates, I can find higher quality fish and much better value at other sushi places. This is definitely not to place to come to if you're looking for real sushi, but great for a fun experience (and maybe celebrations--there were multiple birthdays when we came tonight!).

Very fun. We had never been to a revolving sushi place before. The staff was very kind to help explain the process and it was very simple. Pull items off the conveyor and they count the lids when you are done. You can also order items off the computer menu. Overall, food was good and was rotated out enough to get a variety. Service was good. Drinks were refilled quickly.

Kitchen orders come on these cute trucks!

Kawa was amazing! My husband and I went here for lunch on a Saturday and everything was delicious. The restaurant is clean and well-kept and the service was really good! Even thought most things are automated, the wait staff kept our drinks refilled and cleaned our table promptly. Everything we ate was fresh and prepared perfectly. We will be back!

For what it is, I really enjoyed it! You can't expect super bright quality sushi but honestly, everything tasted really good. My favorite was the spicy girl roll and then my boyfriend's favorite was the Bengals role... There's also a steak Nigiri, which we really liked. The crème brûlée was pretty good too. You had to pay for each plate that you got and each plate is $3.35. Which I thought was a pretty good deal! Fun experience and service was good. They had robot servers lol . It was really busy in there.

Went back recently because a friend wanted to try and I'll say I think it was much better than the first time I went!

Great service, very attentive! Love the interactions with the robotic server, that comes to your table to serve you your drinks. How fun!! The sushi is Fantastic! I have to say it came REAL close to my all time favorite sushi place. So that being said Kawa is officially my second go to restaurant for sushi! Now it's not suitable for large groups. They do have a bar style seating where you can sit side by side with your group. The ambiance is whimsical in its own right! Must pay a visit!

Long story short: fun experience with decent sushi I've never been to a revolving sushi restaurant before, so this was a totally new experience for me. It was so fun! The sushi itself was nothing spectacular, but it was definitely enjoyable. The whole conveyor belt thing was fun, as it allowed us to grab what we wanted & try new things. I feel we had a lot of sushi for the price, too. I would definitely go back & use it as an opportunity to try new rolls.

A sampling of our choices. Yum!

I can't wait to bring my kids here. Drinks and entrees delivered by robots and a conveyor of delicious sushi continuously tempting you table side. The robots and human servers respond quickly. The restaurant is quirky and fun. We loved it enough to come back within a week. If you are into sushi I highly recommend Kawa.

Ask the Community - Kawa Revolving Sushi

What cooked dishes are offered? Have spouse who does not eat sushi?

Kawa also offers ramen, tempura, teriyaki, don, and appetizers such as spring rolls, gyoza, chicken katsu, edamame, different salads, stuffed jalapeños, sesame balls, etc. Not to mention the dessert menu!

    How does pricing work?

Its base on the number of plates and then specialized orders are priced accordingly from the order machine.

Do you recommend getting a reservation/ do they take reservations?

Not necessarily - maybe if you have a large party

Do they have any kids food options that aren't sushi or ramen?

When we were there we ordered my kid chicken teriyaki and French fries. They don't have a proper kids menu.

So is there no wine or sake?

    Correct, non alcoholic drinks only.

After a quick search on…read moregoogle and Yelp she found this restaurant and based on the reviews decided to check it out. It's located in a strip mall next to Kroger. It's a smallish restaurant that has six 4+ top tables and a sushi bar. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by a nice woman who was also our waitress and prepared food. The menu included some basic sushi rolls, a few speciality rolls, hibachi items, rice bowls and appetizers. It's small but includes a lot of classics. We ordered two house salads, miso soup, gyoza, crab Rangoon, spicy tuna roll, tempura California roll, and Thai boba tea. (We were hungry!) We had read a few reviews that service was slow but we had the opposite experience. The food came out extremely fast! Our salads and soup arrived first and then almost everything arrived at once, hot and fresh! The restaurant only had 2 other seated tables but they had a fair amount of togo orders while we were waiting. Let's start with salad and soup - traditional hibachi type salad and soup. The salad had the dressing on the side in cute heart shaped bowl. The soup was traditional and was hot and tasty. Next up appetizers - the menu didn't indicate the gyoza was deep fried but it was very good too. Crispy on the outside and moist and filling in the middle. The crab Rangoon had been mentioned in previous reviews and I'm so glad we tried it. It's on the sweeter side but filling is very creamy with pieces of imitation crab. I'd recommend them both. Finally onto the rolls - my daughter loved her California tempura roll - packed with traditional California roll filling and perfectly fried. My spicy tuna roll was extremely delicious, a little spicy and packed with flavor. Our total was $45, but we had a really great and extremely filling meal. I'd highly recommend dining in or ordering togo. Service was excellent and our waitress was so nice. One last detail, they have wooden chairs with smiley faces cut out.

Why is everything deep fried? Ok, I may be slightly exaggerating and not everything is deep fried but I would say roughly 90% of the dishes are. Not good. This place needs some variety. Some greens even. Sushi: 1/10 rating. Once again, more than half of the sushi is deep fried. What's up with this place and frying everything? Additionally, a good chunk of their sushi selection had cheese. Now, if you were to find a roll you liked, I wouldn't recommend even eating it. That sushi looked like it's been sitting out for a couple hours. I stuck to the sashimi. Salmon was the only edible item. I ate about 10 saucer trays and noticed they stop putting any more out. Deserts: 3/10 rating. You're probably wondering how they mess up desserts if everything is just preordered. Well many of the desserts have been sitting out way too long much like the sushi. When I thought it couldn't get worse, I try the ice cream. Tried a vanilla and a chocolate cup. They somehow failed storing ice cream cause it was not solid. Ice cream had the consistency of sour cream and the chocolate tasted sour. Ambiance: 1/10 rating. You want to play janky covers of songs? Fine. You want to have a bunch of nonfunctional bubble fountains? Fine. But the guy should not be screaming the entire time. Why the F am I able to hear you at the sushi area from my table? They're not dogs. You don't need to be shouting commands at them. Service: 5/10 rating. Can't say I expect much from servers. You're collecting the finished plates and refilling drinks then that's a 10/10. Unfortunately our server forgot one and never once refilled our water. The other Tokyo Hibachi Buffets found in Beavercreek and Kettering are better. This particular one is definitely a pass.
