Surprisingly the dhoklas were vegan (made without yogurt or buttermilk) Couldn't resist picking up one Wada and splitting into quarters for us to taste them in the car right there. The Wadas hit and perfectly spiced for an Indian taste buds. The outer chickpea flour cover with spiced potatoes inside. The spice also a hint of sweetness that speaks to the Gujarati style of spicing thing you. The dhoklas when tasted at home were spicy even for an Indian taste buds and the tempering had too much oil (way too much). Normally the dhoklas are not spicy at all, but I think the chillis in the tempering were spicy and the dhoklas turned out way too spicy for many in the family (except me, of course). But the over greasiness killed the experience for me. Most of the pieces dripped in oil.
