Came here for lunch to catch up with an old friend. Was surprised how busy it was for a Thursday. Both inside and outside seating was fully occupied. It's really nice to mix and match which "tacos" or sandwiches you want. I use quotes for the tacos as they looked more like fajitas. Love lucky Belly! I've tried almost everything and am seldom disappointed. HUGE PORTIONS. Three suggestions for Lucky Belly which I truly hope they take into consideration in order for improvement. Pineapple! Please please please begin using fresh pineapple and can that canned shit. The expectation versus delivery when I see pineapple and then receive flavourless canned fruit on my sandwich or taco is devastating. I no longer order anything with pineapple for the sole reason that I cannot handle anymore disappointment in my life. It's a rough life. Secondly! Your soup to-go containers leak EVERYWHERE. EVERY-TIME. Soup is a 5/5. Everyone soup that I've tried. However I only ever get half a bowl after my trip home or the delivery has arrived. New containers are desperately in order. For the sake of my car mat and my level of satisfaction from eating a full bowl of delicious soup. So please and thank you, change your soup containers. Lastly, your chicken. This would have been perfect had it been a real chicken breast or hand battered REAL chicken. It was not. It was a processed piece of breaded chicken which I imagine contained 62% real chicken, and tell me if I'm correct. The pretzel bun- perfect. The onions and blue cheese- well done chef. Not sure what all the hype is about. The food was decent but I don't feel it's worth the 4.5 to 5-star reviews I keep seeing. I was surprised to walk in and find a fast food type restaurant (like a converted tiny Taco Bell.) That being said, the place was bright and clean. The staff was pleasant and quick. I had a slider mix combo with the chipotle pulled pork sandwich (excellent) and the Black & Blue (should have probably had this half sandwich first), pink lemonade (a bit watered down), and zucchini fries (great!) My friend also had a mix slider combo with the falafel sandwich and the crispy chicken parm, roasted brussel sprouts. She reported that the falafel was decent, but wasn't impressed with the white sauce that covered it (crumbly, like the texture of feta and wasn't quite tzatziki). She commented that had it been really good tzatziki, it probably would have made that sandwich perfect. The brussel sprouts were doused in a soy sauce but looked a bit soggy. She found if they had seared them or truly roasted them a bit just before serving they would have been much more desirable. I paid just over $40 (tax and tip included) for these two combos, but we both barely finished half the meal. It's a bit steep for what they presented. Again, the food was decent, but I could get better food for less downtown. Best feature: The free pickle bar. The three types of pickles offered were delicious. If I were to go back, I'd probably order some zucchini fries to go and then munch on pickles while I wait. read more

Loved their beet box (a daily special menu). I got small box ($7 but additional $2 for protein. I got chicken breast) and it was still a lot of food (I am def. not a small eater). Their arugula pesto was on point, and the combination of components in the box just worked so well. Wish they can make this a regular menu. My friend got chicken and waffle sandwiches and brussel sprouts as a side. I got to try brussel sprouts and it was well cooked and flavourful. Took my mother here for dinner on Taco Tuesday and we were not disappointed. We sat out on their sunny patio and the service was superb. My mom ordered the Po shrimp Taco with a side of broccoli bites. We both found the broccoli bites a bit doughy but good portion size. Decent amount of shrimp inside which is rare. I got their Thai chicken taco with peanut sauce & mac&cheese bites as my side. So tasty! I hear their salads are great too so will try one next time I dine. read more

I used to LOVE this place about 2 years ago. I've only ordered twice since then and I have to say I'm disappointed. I'm not sure if it's under new management or something, but the quality of the chicken has significantly decreased. I always order the chicken parm slider and the past 2 times I've ordered it the chicken has been sketchy. The chicken is rubbery and tough (almost like a tendon) in some areas and then EXTREMELY soft in others. The chicken was so soft in some spots I was checking really thoroughly to judge if it might be raw still. Not sure what's going on but this alone has made me feel nauseous just worrying about the cook on the chicken - and it's definitely not an enjoyable texture. Hopefully they start using better chicken again, I can't see myself going back which is a shame because I was a regular customer a few years ago. read more

Holy smokes. Seriously. My wife and I had two sandwiches. I had the duck, she had the pulled pork. The sides were brussel sprouts and mac and cheese wedges. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Yeah kimchi cucumbers on the duck were a great acid over the sweet duck. Creative, delicious, cheap, fast! Wowzers. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment. They offered a bacon caramel apple ice cream sandwich on the old menu and on the screen in the restaurant, but I was told the only options were a bowl of ice cream, a plain waffle ice cream sandwich or caramel mousse. Well too borings and a slightly different? Ok the slightly different it is. It was gross, by the way. If I could do it over, I'd opt for coffee as leave with the five star review I started with. Shame. Go to pay and notice the cool dessert I had wanted was on the menu board. I'm miffed. The owner asks how I am, I explain how I am. He offers to make the ice cream sandwich, which I reluctantly accept. It takes long enough that I change my mind. Still an overall positive experience. It was marred by a young lady that hadn't yet learned the menu. I'll go back. I'll order the ice cream sandwich. I'll make a 5 star review, no doubt. Not today. This is our go to spot for office lunches. Always amazing. It's always hard to choose. The sliders and tacos are a perfect mix of savoury, sweet and tangy. Food is excellent! Awesome things to try like fried chicken on a waffle, as well as healthy veg bowls. I love Lucky Belly!

I see what they're trying to do with the food here, and I really liked the ideas, but the execution needs a little work. The buffalo chicken sandwich was decent, but Popeyes with blue cheese and onions could rival it at half the cost. The side brussel sprouts I got were mushy because they used frozen brussels. The sauce they used was burnt. The dish was really inedible. The lentil soup was in a heavy base of a BBQ sauce flavouring, and a little too thick and sweet for my liking. Use fresh produce and hone the flavours a little more and you'll have some winning dishes. I haven't tried enough of the other dishes, but I'm not encouraged to at the moment. Tried this on date night. Had the chicken lemon soup to start, then a variety of tacos (butter chicken, Thai, Caribbean) and a pulled pork slider. The Caribbean was our favourite, followed by the slider. The other two were food, just not excellent. I had wanted the sweet potato salad but they were out. Had the broccoli cheese bites and the Brussel sprouts. Again, they were good, but I would try something different next time. Now the soup, it was fantastic. Will be my go to chicken soup when I'm sick! Brussel Sprouts were a little salty with the soy sauce used. I mentioned this to the server and he was apologetic and offered to take them off our bill. My partner and I walked in at 1pm. We wanted to sit at the patio and it was clearly busy so we went inside to let the staff know that we were going to sit on the patio. We were given menus and sat ourselves at a dirty table (all free tables hadn't been cleared). We stacked the dishes and moved them to the end of the table. After about 10 minutes the table next to us got their food and the waitresses made eye contact with us so we thought we'd be served soon. 5 minutes passed by and they were still bringing out more plates to the table next to us and no one cleared off anything on our table or talked to us. We held up the menus as we were looking to make it obvious that we we're not yet taken care of. The waitresses both made eye contact with us but still nothing. After a total of over 20 minutes another tables was seated inside and served drinks while we had still had not been taken care of. We decided to leave at this pont and the waitresses saw us get up and leave. We understand that it was busy but there was no effort made. There should have been more staff on a Friday at lunch time or at least more communication between staff as one of the waitresses knew that we were waiting for service. We were very excited as we like the food at Lucky Belly and we're sorely disappointed. Reading the menu we were also disappointed that the tacos were not gluten free options as they could easily be made with corn tortillas. Also, the salads were not marked as vegetarian with their symbols from the legend which was very odd. read more

The server was very knowledgeable and made me feel welcome while I waited. I'd love to write more, but that's it! If you want a light snack, lunch, or dinner give it a try.
