My Experience at Fusion Dental - Waldorf I chose Fusion Dental in Waldorf because of its positive reviews and because I wanted a dental practice closer to home. I had been receiving regular dental care in Virginia and had undergone dental treatment less than six months earlier without any major concerns. At my first cleaning and examination at Fusion Dental, I was surprised to be told that I had five cavities, all involving the front teeth. Given my recent dental care, I thought this was unusual, but I trusted the dentist's judgment and agreed to the treatment. The filling appointment was not a good experience. The dentist began working on several teeth, then left the room for an extended period. The delay was long enough that the dental assistants apologized several times. By the time the dentist returned and completed the remaining work, the appointment was approaching three hours. I felt the final two teeth were completed much more quickly than the earlier work. By the last tooth, the anesthetic had worn off enough that I could feel the procedure and had to be numbed again. I also experienced significant bleeding around the gumline before the filling was completed. Afterward, I began having problems in the treated areas. One contact was initially so rough that it repeatedly shredded dental floss. More concerning, food and debris consistently collected around the final restored tooth near the gumline. Despite regular flossing and using a water flosser, I repeatedly noticed an unpleasant odor when flossing that specific area. This problem was localized to the area where the dental work had been performed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Approximately five months later, I returned to Fusion Dental and requested a different dentist for another perspective.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was not asking for free treatment or accusing anyone of wrongdoing. I simply wanted the area evaluated because I was concerned about the filling, the gumline, and the persistent odor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, I felt the appointment quickly became more about defending the previous work than investigating my concern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dentist flossed between the teeth and pointed out that the floss was no longer breaking. I explained that this was not the main reason I had returned. My concern was the persistent odor and what might be occurring around the restoration and gumline.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The dentist then tapped on the restored tooth, which was somewhat sensitive, and suggested the issue might be related to the filling being close to the nerve. I again explained that sensitivity was not what brought me back. I wanted to understand why I continued having odor and debris in one specific restored area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was ultimately told that the filling appeared intact and that the dentist did not see a problem. What disappointed me most was that I never felt my actual concern was thoroughly investigated or explained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The interaction felt defensive rather than focused on determining the cause of my symptoms. First off I want to say I gave Dr. Williams a great review last year. But this time HE WAS ON VACAY... Dr. D'Souza took care of my husband. This guy here wasn't good at all. The drill was leaking water even after he put another top on. So he left didn't say anything i looked up & he was gone. Left my husband in pain for 20 minutes because the novacaine wore off. After about 1 & 1/4 hrs he decided to get an oral surgeon which after the oral surgeon numbed hubby it only took 6-7 minutes to extract the tooth. I wanna know #1 why did he let ALL THAT WATER DRIP INTO HUBBY'S MOUTH....I don't know where that hose has been... Even after I asked for it to be changed he only changed the drill, not the coupling or the hose. #2 Why did he only get the oral surgeon after digging in hubbys mouth for 1 1/4 hrs??? #3 The medication. They were told hubby cannot take Ibuprofen and requested Tylenol #3. WHY DID HE WRITE A PRESCRIPTION FOR TYLENOL 400MG? Well isnt 650mg stronger than 400mg? Duh.... why should he pay for 400mg(i didn't even see that strength) when we have 650mg at home? Come to find out this dentist couldn't write a script for anything stronger. WHAT? So I had to wait for another dentist to sign the prescription. After about 30 mins I was on my way. So you asked for my review... here you have it. I would not recommend Fusion. The care and quality has declined greatly. There is a whole new staff of doctors and assistants who provide a lower standard of care. Dr. Seaberry was my go to doctor at Fusion for years, but moved from the area. She was the best and took excellent care of my dental needs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had an emergency a few months ago and Fusion fit me in to see Dr. Williams.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] OMG! Long story short, he attempted to perform a root canal and drilled beyond the norm. All that drilling only to refer me to an endodontist after he failed. The most unprofessional dentist and assistant duo I've ever experienced. After consulting w/an endodontist, a root canal is no longer an option and now I need an implant. Save yourself some pain, anxiety and money. Stay away! Plz do your research. After many years as a patient I have noticed over the past year that the quality of service especially for more advanced procedures beyond a dental cleaning leaves me not feeling confident. My prior dentist Dr. Bob was my primary dentist (and owner for the practice) for years, and simply an outstanding dental practitioner. Since his departure, I have needed more advance services than a basic cleaning, and no longer have confidence as a patient. My kids and I have been going to this dental office since 2017. Between the 4 of us we've had regular cleaning, fillings, teeth pulled, an implant, and braces from the Ortho next door. I've never had issues with the techs and doctors. The doctors do the regular doctor bull and try to sell you stuff you don't need. Sometimes I go for it sometimes I don't. . My issue today is with the billing department or person. I keep getting the same invoice with no explanation. I've called now 3 times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]1st time the person said they had a new system and to ignore the bill they hadn't validated the information that had been transferred.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 2nd notice was the same and since I had never received a bill before and again no explanation, I ignored it. On 2/3/25, I got the 3rd notice. This time saying I was late and threatening collections. So I call again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person said, I can get the explanation on my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company. WTH... was my response. Your office sent me a bill with zero information and you want me to go elsewhere to determine what the bill is for.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Really annoyed I told the person to have a good day. I checked my EOB with my insurance company and there is a balance but it's way less than the invoice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I call back, the person said they would have the billing person check my account and Lisa (the billing person) would call me back today or Monday. I had an appointment for a cleaning on August 5th at 8:20 am. I arrived at 8:10, checked in and waited for my name to be called. 8:20 came and went. Then 8:30. Then 8:40. At 8:45 I was finally called to the back only to be sat in a chair and told to wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]By 9:00 am, I was done. I gathered my belongings, told the front desk staff that after being there for forty minutes and my appointment had not been started, I was leaving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Funny thing is, if I was forty minutes late to my appointment, they would have canceled me. This practice came suggested from my dental insurance, the initial appointment made for my almost 5 year old son was made in person. Unfortunately I had to cancel the appointment on its same day due to him being sick. I tried to call but couldn't get through on the phone and went in person to reschedule (their phone lines were down). I was given what we were told was a specific day due to the availability of the pediatric provider. Come the appointment day and I'm being told my son had no appointment, "so and so" didn't schedule him and in the exam notes it states we "just showed up saying we had an appointment ". Needless to say, I was extremely upset. They happen to have a cancellation and said I could wait and be seen. My son had extreme anxiety and the exam was difficult to complete and he was referred to Kids By The Bay (for sedation, X-rays and treatment plan). Fast forward a week or so and I get a call asking for my address, stating they can't process without demographic information- HUH?? How can you book a new patient and not get that information first? Then they said I could go to the office to pick up a demographic sheet but I couldn't fill it out in the office at the time because they were closing early... I make an appointment with Kids By The Bay and they state I need a referral from Fusion Dental to avoid paying out of pocket for another exam. It has taken 3 weeks to get this. The first trip I went to the office (to return the demo sheet) and requested it and was told it would be emailed. A weeks passes and I call and they say they'll look into in and would email, and here today another week gone and still nothing. I was finally able to talk to someone with some initiative who was finally able to complete this request. I would not refer anyone here nor would I ever return. While the staff may be pleasant, they don't follow up. The office is a walking HIPAA violation with no privacy glass at the front desk, patient screens are visible to people at the front desk and the door to the exam room was wide open and I could see patients getting their exams, not to mention poor office practices. So I am a working stiff so of course I put in my leave. You confirmed the appointment at 10:41 am on that day. You sent a subsequent confirmation on January 17th at 2:01 pm. Furthermore, you sent another confirmation text on January 28th at 9:16 am. You sent another confirmation, so the fourth one, not including the initial one, at 12:00 pm today. Yet you texted me at 12:30 pm today saying that the appointment, which should be in less than two hours, needs to be rescheduled. How unprofessional is that? When I called to voice my concern, you stated that my initial request was in a different system, but you have contacted me four times since then, so how does that happen? You would penalize me financially if I canceled less than two hours before the appointment, so what type of compensation will you give me? If you doubt my story, I have all the confirmations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a such a positive experience![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dr. Curtis Williams is the best dentist hands down, that i have ever encountered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have been a patient of his since the 1980's and was able to locate him at his new location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would give him more stars if I could. He really cares about his patients, has integrity and does quality work. Dental work he provided me in the 1980's is still in place- never had a single issue. He recommends the best option for the patient, not for his pocket. And dental hygienist Theresa, cleaned my teeth. She is awesome too. I kept waiting for the discomfort and fist clenching but it never happened. She expertly gave me a much needed cleaning but there was no discomfort. The front staff lacks the reading comprehension skills to interpret and simple insurance coverage. Tina the office manager is such a hot head she ejected me from the practice denying me vital surgical dental care because she could not take the fact I challenged shady billing, unprofessional behavior, misinterpretation of coverage and I told her I would get my teeth pulled today but I did not think I would be coming back. Ultimately this practice held on to my medical records so I could not receive immediate care at any other dentist leaving me in pain. I suggest to all readers do not patronize this business. As someone who has had "dentist trauma" in the past with rude dentists and painful surgeries with insufficient anesthesia, I cannot recommend Dr. Shaun Seaberry highly enough. After years of not going to the dentist due to fear and shame, I started seeing her when she worked at a different practice in DC and continued to see her when she moved to Fusion Dental in Waldorf - it was worth the long drive from Takoma Park. She's patient and gentle, friendly, and explains everything thoroughly without being condescending. I had a mouth full of problems and she and her team fixed it all! The office was always spotless and they had great COVID sanitation protocols. The front desk staff was professional and friendly, too. I also appreciated that there were no surprises on my bills because their estimates were always spot on about how much my insurance would and would not cover. Great dentists are hard to find. They send you reminder after reminder then 30 minutes before your appt they ask you to come in early or you'll Have to be rescheduled when you've already waited two months. This is a nice dental practice however this was the second time with an issue with wasting my time and Dr Seaberry's schedule. If I come for an emergency visit and was diagnosed with a cracked tooth - why do I have to wait until Dr Seaberry is available to tell me the exact same thing the other dentist told me (is one dentist more qualified than the other)? I was told Dr Seaberry would be back tomorrow but could only see me at the time when I have to get my child from school (so that isn't an option) and the only other time she can see me after that would be in January (mind you this is for just the consultation)! Hello my tooth is cracked does it make any sense to wait around for Dr Seaberry to give me a consult on the exact same thing I was consulted on today, then wait for over 2 weeks and potentially damage the tooth even more? The last time I had this issue I wasted almost a month going back and forth with Dr Seaberry and her recommendations however the one recommendation she NEVER provided was having the tooth pulled which would have been the easiest thing (it was a back tooth so it's not necessarily needed). After a month of going back and forth with Dr Seaberry, Dr Sorkin thank god pulled me into her office and gave me the option to extract the tooth which took only 20 mins!! Assuming Dr Seaberry would have provided that option a month prior I could have saved myself a lot time and definitely a lot of pain!! I saw this exact issue about to repeat itself today and literally had to put my foot down to be put on the Extraction Surgeon's schedule so I could at least not be in pain for Christmas. While I understand it's the holidays and we all need our time off for some reason Dr Seaberry is always out (even when it's not the holiday time of year) and when she's in it takes a long time to get to the bottom of what needs to be done and just getting it scheduled. The best Dentist i have gone too in a long time. Yesterday i met with Dr. Bob because of the severe pain i was having. They got me examined and set me for surgery today with Dr. Moose they make sure that you are completely comfortable from start to finish. The hygienist were great i wish i could remember the 2 ladies now that worked with me but they were completely professional. The office was clean and inviting. It appears they have pretty good state if the art equipment in here as well. So glad i live close to this dental office. read more

I have been going to fusion dental in Waldorf since 2018! I use to love this place! My issue with them didn't start until feb 2022. Dr Bob recommend a fill. I had and appt for a cleaning and fill in Aug. they canceled my appt and when I rescheduled front desk staff only booked me for a cleaning. The person that Checked me in never check me in so I was waiting 20 mins until my huge fist came up front looking for me because she said it was unlike me to no show up. I told them what I booked my appt for and then was told no only a cleaning would be done. The hygienist was nice enough to grab a dentist that was open. He recommended me a root canal consultation. It stated in my chart only a fill. They book my consultation and never told me it would be $140 fee. I didn't find out until my consultation I had to pay. I then was suppose to get same day procedure but the staff knew nothing of it and that I was told the wrong information. Again, I took off a full day of work for this! They were unapologetic and had no empathy for what I was going through. I would not take my family of 4 back and will tell all my family and friends that go there to leave. The staff here was very friendly. My son ended up needing a tooth extracted and the dentist did a great job. My son had no idea he received the numbing shot thanks to the doc giving him numbing gel first and being very discreet with the needle.. I stared going to Fusion Dental about 18 months ago. Every visit has been professional. I love Dr. Bob's professionalism. The staff is wonderful as well as the dental assistants and hygienists. I had to get a get a root canal today and did not know what to expect and was a little nervous. Dr. Winberg and Lori were "AWESOME ". Dr. Winberg explained the process and even tried to save me from having the root canal. My visit was painless and I felt great when I was done. read more

This dental office use to be a 5-star rating. They have become over-whelmed with scheduling of too many patients that there care has decreased to unacceptable. Our ortho appointment was at 3 pm. We arrived at 2:50 with only 2 people waiting. Three new people came in and were taken immediately. We finally were called at 3:50 to go to the back. All seats were filled and technicians steadily working. The technician we were assigned seemed unknowledgeable of what needed to be done and left to assist a girl who had come in after us. The technician fiddled around with the other patient.. then went to speak to her father... then came and put new gloves on, only to get the camera to go take pictures of the other girl. After a lengthy time, she proceeded to come back to us--and not changing her gloves. I asked her wasn't she going to change her gloves. She got an attitude saying she had not touched any thing with them! Unbelievable! She did change them but only at my request and was not happy to do so. And, then as she attempted to perform the necessary work, she repeatedly slammed equipment onto the tray. She had to go ask Dr. Lee again as to what she was to do; and he pointed to the chart and told her it was all written down for her to follow his instructions. This appointment turned into an ordeal for my grand-daughter. And the technician couldn't even complete what needed to be done. Dr. Lee had to finish appointment and stated technician was using the wrong tool. We were not finished until 5 o'clock. This ortho office has deteriorated in the quality of service they provide. It seems they have become more concerned with new patients that there old patients are being overlooked and receiving inadequate care. It is obvious, that some of the staff members are not even qualified to perform the work efficiently. The outstanding service we received years ago is no longer provided. I not longer feel Waldorf Fusion Dental gives you the outstanding care that all patients deserve. read more
