Around April 2026 I visited the shop in South City Ca. I was looking to upgrade my receiver he went right away and suggested a NAD receiver, also went on to demonstrate it with all his sophisticated gear, we decided to purchase and Have Install By him but he said I had to do some cable fishing thru my wall for him to run cables? He installed the receiver but at the same time wanted me to buy a remote valued at$2,050.00 (?) since I refused and return it now he does not answer my calls,Emails,text. Since the system needs tweaking. I will never buy a thing from him again,! On tap he charged me for install by the hour. Rip off.... Ps. Did not give me manuals nor equipment to set up speakers levels if needed. read more

We have been customers of Future Sound for over 25 years since they were located in Burlingame. They installed our home sound system during a major renovation in 2010. Since some of the components were not working, Peter suggested an upgrade to the system. We are thrilled with the new system, we were able to digitize all of our old CDs and utilize the existing wiring throughout the house. Our first interaction with Audible Difference (now named Future Sound) was back in 1989 when we purchased a pair of speakers from them. We were thrilled with all aspects of that purchase and those speakers are still going strong today. I've worked with Peter on two separate occasions where he has helped me pick an integrated amplifier with two floor-standing speakers and two bookshelf speakers (for different rooms) and then upgrade the amplifier and add two REL subwoofers to my main speakers. Amazing experiences with Ken McQueen at AudibleDifference in Palo Alto before it closed and Ed Chamberlain at Future Sound at the Burlingame location before it closed. Their recommendations and installation were perfection with not a single issue to date despite component/install being almost 30 years old. In 2021 contacted Future Sound. HUGE MISTAKE. Was strange that Peter Lee, the alleged current Owner, said he's been with Audible Difference and Future Sounds at the time I used them but never heard of the people I worked with. First red flag that were followed by several more: (1) upfront full payment required, (2) having to ask what's going 2 weeks after hearing nothing after payment made, (3) Luxul product installed was one source of lack of signal problem encountered (4) Seven hours to merely connect the wiring between components with those that exisited without any construction (no wiring/outlets/etc behind walls, no wall mountings, etc.) and mobile app setting configuation and (5) after spending all that time to install, one of the exisiting components was not even configured to work on the newly installed wirelless products despite being a specific requirement. Now stuck with a configuation recommended, sold and installed by Peter Lee that does not appear can be fixed and an initial concern raised to him in our first contact, during his estimate site visit, during his installation and to date. After an IT pro was called in to installed and achieved an excellent status and "blazing fash" mesh network and a strong bluetooth signal strength exists, his installed products consistently result in spordiac "no signal" despite Peter Lee's finger pointing these were the problems. Don't be fooled by the soft spoken demeanor and the perceived audiophile knowledge Peter Lee delivers. It is apparent he is out to sell and create as much $$$ he can and will sell you products that cannot deliver what was wanted, will abuse openended T&M installing items not needed or that advserly impacts the configuration and will drag out labor charges on what should be a simple install connecting wires between a few components and setting app parameters. What a sad path the Audible Difference and Future Sound has taken and subjecting those who previously has such an amzing experences to what transpired here. Go elsewhere. read more

The owner was very helpful in telling me what were the best options for what I was looking for. I wanted a music-specific setup which was very minimal and required built in amp into the speaker(s). He showed me and allowed me to test some PSB speakers. He was nice but didn't allow me to turn up the volume as loud as I wanted to (I like my music loud). He also would not entertain me looking for something cheaper like the Sonos 1capeaker type setups. He was dead set on me getting a two speaker built in amp setup for my budget. That's fine but when I asked for other brand options, he didn't entertain any. I did end u orally liking the bigger PSB speakers, but when I was going through checkout, he said they only offer very limited return policy (credit for something more expensive). I backed out and told him I would not be purchasing without the option of a decent return policy (at least 25 days money back!). The owner's a good guy but he needs to realize that he's competing with online retailers that would take back retuens 90 days after purchase if I didn't like it! Customers want peace of mind for expensive purchases! All and all I would say it was an okay experience but next time allow customers to completely control the remote and volume. Also, give them at least a 15 day return policy. Otherwise, they'll go to Amazon. read more

Peter is awesome!!! It has been about a year since Peter set up the big 100 inch screen. Peter did a custom order with Stewart Screens and was he ever so meticulous regarding the exact measurements. The screen was perfect when matched to Epson 500 short throw projector. What an awesome picture it has been for all these months. Combined with the Klipsch Atmos sound and well I can just sit there for hours. Add to that the gorgeous Salamander cabinet and you cannot imagine the compliments I get. Working with Future Sound and the owner Peter to select and install the components for a home theater system was everything I could have asked for and more. Peter had excellent advice on, and demos of, equipment selections, and good solutions for a couple of speaker location problems in our A/V room. He also worked with the contractors who were doing room preparation for the installation along with some other remodeling. The various supply issues caused by Covid have made obtaining all the components for a project like ours challenging, and Peter navigated it through all these problems. Our system is exactly what we wanted, performs beautifully, and we did not have to make any compromises.
