Was finally able to try this place after seeing it all over my FYP. I ordered the three piece wings with fries in the garlic parmesan flavor, along with the buffalo flava fries with ranch. The fries on their own were very good. They were made from fresh potatoes, well seasoned, and thin cut. I liked that there was a mix of crispy fries and some softer ones, which actually worked really well. The buffalo flava fries were excellent. The buffalo sauce had a nice balance of heat and tang, and the ranch tasted homemade and was very flavorful. The chicken on top of the fries was extremely crispy, and they were generous with both sauces so almost every fry was coated. The garlic parmesan wings had good seasoning, but the wings themselves were a bit fatty. They had a lot of meat, but the skin reminded me more of Korean fried chicken rather than a classic wing. They were still enjoyable, especially dipped in the ranch and buffalo sauce. The wings were well coated and flavorful, although I have had better wings elsewhere. That said, the buffalo fries, sauces, and ranch were so good that I would definitely return. The inside space is small, so it is more of a takeout spot. Service was friendly and efficient, and we only waited about ten minutes for our food. I would definitely come back and try another flavor.

Ordered wings and fries combo. There was way too much grease in the food. The wings needed to be separated. Fries taste just like in and out (hard fries) . I would not go back to this restaurant

We live really close to Fyrebird and saw that they had good reviews so decided to check them out! We got their 12 wings and fries for takeout. The sauce we chose were garlic habanero and lemon pepper. We were really hoping to like this place but we were a bit disappointed. The fries were soggy and the wings were soggy as well. The lemon pepper flavor was salty and the garlic habanero was not spicy at all. There wasn't much flavor for the garlic habanero. We were confused. We thought there was going to be some heat to it since it was listed as the second hottest but there was no kick. Maybe you need to eat the foods at the restaurant when it's really fresh? Doing takeout was not the way to go

The service here is excellent! They go above andbeyond to please. The chicken was absolutely fantastic, generous portions, and fair prices. They have a very nice outside seating area, but the food is also packaged well to go. They put a lot of care and attention to detail into their food. The fries and a homemade dipping sauces were also outstanding. You simply can't go wrong with anything here. Wonderful family run business worth supporting. Highly recommended if you are looking for a delicious and flavorful meal in the area!

Deeeeelicious! Every now and then I just want wings and I'm so happy Fryebird exists. I love the crispiness of wings and tenders and they have the perfect bite every time. These are the lemon pepper and it's a perfect blend of salty and citrus. Bonus points for having fried pickles! Service is friendly, efficient, and the wait time is perfect because you know you're getting food made to order. The outdoor patio area is clean, cozy, very welcoming. I'm already looking forward to going back!

I'm not a fried chicken connoisseur by any means but I tasted nothing unique, just fried chicken. A solid 3.5, but rounding up to a 4 because the chicken was cooked perfectly, it tasted fresh and juicy. I wanted to taste a variety of their sauces and spice level and ordered 4 sliders. I was surprised by the size of the sliders, larger than expected and generous use of chicken. I was disappointed with the heat. Cali Heat, which is their hottest, hardly had any heat to it, just a hint. The fries were very boring and cried out for some special seasoning. I just can't figure out what fried chicken sandwiches have against cheese and tomato. Those additions would take things to the next level.

This is probably one of the saddest reviews I'd have to make. I have always seen this spot but never tried. We were excited to try it. Today I tried it, and unfortunately will not be back. The size of the so-called tenders is ridiculous. We ordered plant-based. Extremely pricey for the little pieces of nuggets. They're not "tenders". They were measly pieces of nuggets you get from the frozen section at the grocery stores. I buy the same stuff. You can get these plant-based options at your local grocery store. Some are tenders and some come as nuggets. These were advertised as tenders--but they're actually nuggets. It wasn't even a decent size. I would've been fine with it. There were no photos online because most people don't buy plant-based. $12 for a few pieces of nuggets was a joke. The entire presentation looked very sad. Just pieces thrown into plastic boxes. Even a five-year old would have plated it nicer. The only thing that made sense were the fries. Everything else did not taste good. The back patio was the only upside. My advice to the owners--just stick to real meat. Plant-based isn't your area. One other issue is that we tipped in advanced. We told them we were dining in "for here" and they never brought it out to us. This place has no service. At some places even if you order at the register, they bring out the food but they paged us to come get it instead. They were too lazy to bring it to their back patio. I guess since they already got the tip they didn't bother to make a first impression. They knew it was our first time there since we had a lot of questions and specific requests. First and last time. Don't recommend. The skimpy portion for the price is absurd and unacceptable.

Ambiance: Not a big place at all... maybe 3 stools to sit at the counter. 2 benches outside to wait. Though it's small, it's easy to navigate.. you're in and out. Service: Guy taking order was patient, friendly, and helpful. I was able to mix flavors, he helped me decide on my order, and they have the option to text you when your order is ready so you're not just waiting around the already small location. Order took about 30 minutes to get. Food: My tenders were nice and hot, not crispy, but were juicy. The flavors of the sauces were strong. I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors /sauces. Fries were ok, needed more seasoning (the lemon pepper would've been good), and kind of soft, but they weren't terrible. I went on a Friday after work, and the parking was pretty easy.

Amazing! I ordered a few things off the menu and they were all good. The restaurant was very clean and there was a seating area available for you to enjoy your food while it's nice and fresh! The food was prepared to order and did not take long at all. The chicken was juicy, well cooked, and had a lot of flavor. They have a variety of flavored spices/sauces you could have your chicken seasoned with (lemon pepper, barbecue, buffalo, spicy ranch, etc.) which was great. The portioning of the food was perfect. The food was a 10/10 and so was the great customer service, I will definitely be returning soon. read more

Today I stopped by Fyrebird after a long hike at Kenneth Hahn Park. I'm glad I did! The menu is easy to navigate. My total was close to $16 and well worth it. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich and Fries box. From there you can choose how you want your chicken flavor wise. I asked for Spicy BBQ and Spicy Ranch dipping sauce. The portion was HUGE! They don't skimp on ingredients at Fyrebird. All items were fresh and hot and the wait was 10-15 but I can see why. I'm excited to go back and try wings or another chicken sandwich! Give this play a try and be glad you did. (I drove across the street to eat in the El Camino College parking lot-since I live a little far. It was nice people watching and enjoying the good eats!). read more

Bomb food! Friendly service! I had the Fyrebird chicken sandwich, and wifey got the 4 tenders meal. Big portions (seriously large tenders), and amazing taste and flavor. Fyrebird sandwich was the perfect heat if you like spicy, but it wasn't over the top where your lips are burning and you can't enjoy the meal. The tenders we got were honey chipotle (pretty spicy), and sweet heat ( mild/medium). So happy we tried this place, and discovered this hidden gem. Can't wait to eat here again. After getting a notification of places to try in my area, decided to go ahead and check them out and have to say, was not disappointed one bit. Tried their buffalo chicken sandwich and it had just the right amount of spice. Loved how they packaged the food and that's it's a small business that charge a decent price for their food. The wings and sandwiches are really good. I recommend the honey chipotle flavor sauce for your wings. They also will give you extra ranch if you need it. They are only open on limited days but I highly enjoy their food. They also deliver fast. read more

This is exactly what I needed. So happy there is a delicious hot chicken spot near me, will definitely come here on the regular. I got the Cali Heat and got the house sauce on the side, which definitely helped moisten up the dry rub. The Cali heat was a phenomenal blend of flavors without leaving my mouth in pain like some other hot chicken places lol. That's the best combination IMHO. Also very friendly staff. The only thing was the prices were more than in the yelp pictures but I didn't mind after I took that first bite AT ALL. Posting new menu pic here. But don't worry about it just go get that Cali Heat!! read more

I tried this place and it was okay. I have been spoiled by overwhelming flavor of Dave's Hot so I was comparing a new spot to my favorite! It's unmatched thus far. The meat was way too crispy to the point of thinking "is there even any meat?" They have a good solid foundation, but I would've preferred a an equal balance of crunchy and some juicy meat. The fries were also okay. I'm also a sauce person so I did try their Fyrebird sauce and it was good. The flavor I chose was Parmesan. The customer service was great! I lady working the front was nice. There's plenty of parking and it's in the cut so it's easy to miss. I would give it half of 5 stars. A good middle 3.5. I will go back and try one more time. read more

I ordered the 6 piece tenders, and wow did I get a lot of bang for my buck! The tenders were pretty huge, and it came with shoestring fries, all for just $7.50. I ate the chicken over two meals. I got the sweet heat; I think I was expecting it a little drier and a little more spicy, but it was still tasty. Happy to support a black-owned business! read more

So bomb! Came from Pasadena to have some FYREbird. The chicken wings (I ordered garlic parmesan & sweet heat) are so flavourful that it makes me sad I get full so fast. This restaurant is awesome! I've been pretty disappointed with some of the hot chicken around South LA but I found this spot and it is amazing! I got the Cali Heat sandwich and it had the perfect amount of spice. I brought my siblings and they each enjoyed what they got too. The fries were good too, you can tell they're fresh and they're pretty similar to in n out fries. Overall, great food and will def come again when I want hot chicken. read more

This is my favorite Wing spot to go to ! The hospitality from everyone in the place is Excellent, from the moment you walk in to the last ! I get the honey Chipotle wings or the Buffalo !! This is our go-to for tenders for the family. The family meal is enough for our large crew. The tenders are always crispy and oh so juicy and tender. The traditional are a favorite for our less adventurous eaters but the lemon pepper and garlic Parmesan are to die for. Don't forget the Fyrebird sauce. I could eat that on everything. It's fine. The service was nice. I got a chicken sandwich with the Cali Heat sauce. It's their hottest flavor, and the heat was manageable. I can taste a lot of chile/chili powder in here, which makes it taste... earthy, imo. I can't say it's exactly flavorful but the heat is there, if that's what you're looking for. The chicken itself was fried well and not dry, but it didn't taste like the chicken was salted or brined, or anything like that. I think they're expecting their sauces to do a majority of the leg work in the flavor department but, like... please season your chicken. lol The fries were very good and you can tell they're freshly made. Also very plentiful. All in all I'm glad I tried Fyrebird, as I've been meaning to for a while. But based on this visit, I don't think I would go out of my way to try them again. read more

Tried Fyrebird for the first time today! Got the sweetheart chicken sandwich Which everyone recommended. I love the brioche bun, very fluffy and Tasty. Also love the pickles inside with dill. Only letdown was that it wasn't spicy at all! Kind of like the sweet sauce you get with Eggrolls. I'll try the Cali heat Next time and report back! Firrreeeeeee!!!! Just left this spot like 10 minutes ago after visiting for the first time. I took one bite and was forced to leave a yelp review. The food is phenomenal. Chicken quality is excellent, serving size is perfect, unique dip options and they all taste delicious. The customer service was great and I did not have to wait all day for my food. I couldn't get my chick fil a cause it's closed on Sundays so I ended up going here. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich which is my go to. I was actually shocked at how good the chicken tasted and the fries reminded me of in n out fries. I actually called to speak to one of the owners to let him know how great the food was. Sorry the chicken was hot but it had a frozen fried food texture. I'm not even gonna post the pictures. U will literally gag. Water came gushing out at the first bite. It was disgusting to look at let alone eat so I gave it to the stray dog. read more

I had heard this place was outstanding and the food was superb. Much to my dismay, it was just "meh". The chicken coating was cooked perfectly brown and tasty. However the chicken itself seemed to be cut very thin. So thin that it was stringy and overcooked. Instead of one big piece, there were three different pieces of chicken which made the sandwich messy and hard to handle. The sauce was just mayo even though I ordered garlic habanero. The service was nice. The restaurant seemed to be clean except for all the dust lingering at the door. Overall, It was okay but I'm not motivated to return. read more

Still giving them a 5 star. Everything is GREAT - from their Flava fries, wings, sliders, chicken sandwiches and customer service. My family and I are hella picky about our wings and chicken sandwiches and WILL drive to other cities most especially for a dang good chicken sandwich! Fyrebird is a definite exception and we rank them as one of the best in the LA area, such as Daybird, Howlin Ray's, Dave's Hot Chicken, etc. Some may beg to differ but this is my opinion and from my picky palate. We're lucky that they're close by. It's unfortunate to read about other people's "bad" experience. I'm sure it's a one-off issue which was unfortunate for those who Yelp'd. Our food has always tasted fresh and is usually on point. They may have occasionally forgotten a thing or two but they were always apologetic. But, hey! No one is perfect and other restaurants have forgotten a thing or two as well. Fyrebird never disappoints us. We love supporting our local business and family-run business. read more

Honestly. This is better than Chick-Fil-A. I got the Lemon Pepper Chicken sandwich and filled my fix of wing stop lemon pepper flavor and a Chick-Fil-A sandwich all in one. Definitely recommend. Boyfriend had the Honey Chipotle chicken sandwich, rated at 4 spicy but good over all, said it wasn't that spicy but delicious nonetheless. I am definitely returning. Next try- Cali Hot chicken sandwich. read more

OK to start with everything I ordered was fyre the wings are very juicy and large thank you so much Fyrebird for that. The sweet heat is amazing so was the lemon pepper, Buffalo and Barbecue. My sweet heat sandwich is my new favorite chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich breast was large and very juicy. What ever they put in the Fyrebird sauce is absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back again. The prices are on point. Fyrebird thank you for exceeding my expectations!!! read more

I really wanted to like this place but it's a no for me. The wings are too big looks like the bagged Tyson wings from the grocery store. Asked for them to be fried hard and. That didn't happen. Too many fries not enough sauce.. the ranch tastes homemade made and super thick. Idk maybe I'll try a sandwich next time. read more

They are crispy and the soy gsrlic is slightly too spicy for me. But I'm a wuss at spice so take it with a grain of salt. It's still worth a try though. I'll definitely come back to try more items!

The tenders were nice size, crispy and SPICY! their dry rub definitely was extremely spicy to the point I couldn't finish all 3 tenders. The fries were fresh crispy and seasoned and really good. Even if you get your food to go, the way your order is packaged ensures the chicken stays a crunchy for a hot min.
