Went to Top Wings and Tenders in Redondo with my son before a concert, and it was a solid find. I'm not a huge wings guy, but he was all in -- said they were bigger and better quality than most places he's tried. I got the chicken sandwich, which was good. Would've loved a couple pickles on it, and I'm not big on coleslaw, but honestly it still worked. Sad to say my first experience here was bad from the beginning to the end. Ordered over the phone on Super Bowl Sunday prior to the game starting in which she said it would take about 30 minutes or less. That could not have been more off as we waited nearly three times as long and did not get our food until an hour and 20 after I placed the order. We sat patiently waiting in the restaurant the entire time in which the workers tried to be kind and say it was coming out soon, which they said for the entire wait. Despite the kind remarks, we were not offered anything while we waited to remedy the situation which was really frustrating since we wasted an hour and a half just sitting around with nothing to do. No free drinks or refunds or anything, we were just expected to wait and miss the game. We watched people come in and out of the store, ordering at the cashier and getting their food before us. While we more than understand Super Bowl causes places to be overwhelmed, we don't understand why they lowballed the wait time so badly and then proceeded to not try and fix the issue they caused. The kind comments felt really in genuine and that they actually didn't care they made dozens of people sit around after they gave us the wrong wait time. I wish I could've gotten a refund and cancelled the order but after waiting for an hour and 20 it was too late to back out. Big mistake. We got home, food was cold, not crispy and barely had any sauce. The tenders tasted dry and as if they weren't fried properly. I was deeply disappointed as we spent so much on food and the quality was less than lacking. My boyfriend then got food poisoning and was unable to watch the game or sleep the entire night due to extreme vomiting. So after the hour and 20 wait, the food was not only bad but unable to be eaten and had to be thrown away. We missed the game and ended up sick and incredibly disappointed. We're now out the money we spent and did not get the food we waited to patiently waited for, just a really bummer experience. These are my favorite wings in all of LA. The 8 piece combo is $20 and it is worth it because the wings are huge. The mango habanero is sweet but it has the nice spicy kick that you are looking for. The Nashville hot wasn't my favorite, I prefer saucy wings. The fries and Texas toast are also BOMB. If you don't like wings they also have tenders, chicken sandwiches and burgers. The food is always made fresh so you might have to wait about 15 minutes. The place itself has a lot of seating and a TV to watch sports if you want. I'm really disappointed to write this review, but I feel like it's necessary after my experience at Top Tenders. We placed a call-in order for 20 piece tenders (Blazin' Buffalo and Mango Habanero), Waffle Fries, and Texas Toast about an hour before the game. We knew it was going to be a busy time, so we made sure to order early. The lady on the phone told us it would be ready in about 30 minutes or less, so we got there right before the 30-minute window. But when we checked in, we were told our order wasn't ready yet. No big deal, we expected a wait. They said it would be about 10 more minutes. So we waited... and waited... and after another 10 minutes, they told us it'd be another 10-15 minutes. Fast forward to an hour and 20 minutes of waiting in the store, and they finally start preparing our food. We were beyond frustrated at this point--if you're going to tell us 30 minutes, why is it actually going to take over two hours? But unfortunately, it didn't end there. After a couple of bites of food, I set it aside to watch the game. About an hour later, my stomach started to feel off. I didn't think much of it at first, but after some time, it got worse. I ended up feeling violently ill, and it became clear that I had food poisoning. I spent the next 10 hours nauseous and throwing up, which is not how anyone should end their Super Bowl Sunday. Who doesn't love some TENDIES!! Me love me some tendies! But not from here. When I say awful I mean the worst ones I've ever had. They were not even crispy, they were dry on the inside and somehow NOT crispy on the outside (how do you screw up that bad to get that consistency?) the fries were not crispy and tasted like left overs from a frozen bag. My friend stumbled upon this restaurant after being in the neighborhood. After she saw it, she called me to tell me that we had to try it. Once you enter the music catches your attention and the smell as well. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and the worker that we had was so nice. The smoky BBQ was so good and I added extra bbq sauce because it was so good. The Texas toast was a great addition to everything in the meal. What caught me by surprise was the coleslaw. I usually avoid coleslaw because I don't like it. However, I try everything that's given to me and, I kept going back for the coleslaw. It all just would have been exponentially better had we dined in. Nashville hot on the tenders was not spicy, but the tenders were delicious nonetheless. Fries were soggy, but probably freshly made. They just don't travel well. Nuggets were tasty with my own buttermilk garlic salad dressing, but their honey mustard was quite good, too. Fried zucchini was good, but again, it would have been super fantastic had they not received a nice steaming in the box during the ride home. Can't say the coleslaw blew my hair back, but all the sauces were yummy. I'd say the TT sauce was my least favorite, but I understand it is a winner for many. Seriously, why is this a thing? Absolute laziness and penny pinching. The fries look good, but they are not crispy at all and are devoid of much seasoning. This place is also very expensive. 6 wings with fries and a drink is $21 before tax! What is the point of this place? Wingstop is a 5 minute drive away from here and the wings and fries are way better in quality, flavor and price.
