Based on the reviews here, clearly others have had better experiences with Jane. I came to Jane for assistance with a complicated vestibular disorder that was clearly beyond Jane's scope of knowledge and training. Rather than acknowledging this, Jane insisted she would be able to address my issues, refused to communicate her treatment plan to my doctor, and attempted to provide a treatment with which she was completely unfamiliar and could have compromised my later eligibility for a clinical trial. Jane also knowingly compromised my access to other physical therapy through my health plan by wasting covered visits. I am, unfortunately, very familiar with the complexity involved in treating patients with rare disorders. Providers who choose not to be honest with patients regarding their own expertise and familiarity with a patient's symptoms do a great disservice to these patients by exacerbating an already very difficult set of circumstances. read more

2020 is now known as the worst year ever, but I am grateful for 2020 which (in addition to the pandemic) gave me an injury ... I'm grateful because that injury led me to Dr. Jane Mead, who is arguably the the best physical therapist in SoCal. I take comfort in knowing that if I'm ever injured, I know exactly where to go (Dr. Mead's!) Every week I drive one hour there and one hour back from south Orange County to her Glendale office (which is actually closer to La Canada) because her skill and treatments are worth the commute. In just weeks, I've made more progress than my orthopedic surgeon and his PA had predicted. I also didnt need a medical procedure that I was on the fence about. I love Dr. Mead's approach - she is so precise and knows exactly what to do. She is also incredibly knowledgeable and uses techniques and practices from an array of disciplines. She is the PT equivalent of a top notch functional medicine doctor. She offers a wealth of advice on anything PT related - sleeping, posture, nutrition. Her office has amazing equipment and her staff is kind and helpful. If you are in pain, have an injury, and have been told that it's going to take X months to recover (and you feel a bit down about that), please go see her. She gives patients hope. They say they spell the word Physical differently because they do things differently! Truer words have not been spoken! If you have ever done physical therapy before, I can assure you that your experience with Jane Mead will not be anything like you've experienced before! I am struggling to find the words that best describes Jane. She is a consummate professional that took the time to get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and owns her own practice. This woman KNOWS HER STUFF! She has spent more one on one time with me than I have ever experienced with any other PT in my life ( and I have had to see quite a few)! She can break down a muscle movement down to the last fiber! (Okay, that may be a SLIGHT exaggeration!) I promise you that you will hear her voice in your head long after you have left her office as you practice doing what she has shown you to do. In my case she has significantly improved a shoulder pain that was keeping me from being able to reach behind my back ( I can now reach behind my back) and she has helped me improve my posture by helping me strengthen my core (abdominal) muscles (all without doing a single sit-up!). She has unusual equipment in her office that can analyze your gait and makes recommendations for orthotics while weight bearing as opposed to making a mold while you sit. I apologize for the lengthy review, but I can still say more especially about the unorthodox pieces of equipment that she uses to get you better. In the past, I have had two hip replacements knee surgery And Achilles surgery and I have never been to a therapist like Jane. what's really nice about this office Is that from the minute you walk in you are treated very well. Jane got all the information regarding my injury to my right heel. and start my sessions. I have just started going to FYZICAL therapy and all I can say is WOW! I have been in a boot air cast for a whole year. . Doctor to doctor, many physical therapy session before coming here. On the first day with seeing Jane, I felt like I've been heard for the first time. I left the office the first day, walking in canes but left walking without my boot on. I have been in pain for 35 years and searched high and low using Western medicine, eastern medicine, and other physical therapists to try to ease my pain. The best PT experience. Extremely knowledgable, friendly, and attentive. You are with the PT the entire visit, no handing off to aids. They use state-of-the art equipment to stay up-to-date with cutting edge techniques. After knee surgery (arthroscopic meniscus resection), Jocelyn got me back to my pre-surgery activities quickly. Most importantly, she identified the underlying causes that contributed to my knee injury, poor posture and improper walking technique. By addressing these issues, I've already noticed significant changes resulting in less generalized pain and increased strength. By treating the underlying problem and not just the injury, I have the skills needed to prevent further injury or more issues down the road. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough.
