Yet another one of those "yelp never lets me down" I came across Nuve while on a desperate search for a physical therapist. 2 weeks ago my husband had a very very bad back spasm which had him rushed to the ER. You have to know he is very pain tolerant so for this scenario it was a very serious pain! After talking to the nurses and doctor in the Er along with researching remedies, we decided we need a good physical therapist. Due to the severity of the situation we needed to make sure the facility and therapist were top notch. I called NUVE and left a massage which was returned same day. I explained to dr Yvonne the situation and she took the time over the phone to explain what may have caused it and even mentioned that 1-2 treatments may help him out. To be honest I didn't believe that only 1-2 treatments would help but I figured hey let's give it a shot. She was able to give my husband and appointment just 2 days later, I went in with him because he was so bad he couldn't even drive. His pain after an hour treatment went from a 9 to a 2!!! He couldn't believe it, we were both in shock. He got off the pain meds he was on for 3 days and hasn't taken a single one since. He had his 2nd appt a week later and he called me right after saying all his pain is completely gone. She was even honest enough to tell him he doesn't need another appointment for at least another month! Where do I begin? Two years ago, my even-keeled boyfriend suffered a dramatic back injury. The man had never even been so much as depressed, but the pain was so severe, he was brought to his knees. He truly thought his life was over. Yvonne brought him back to health. It took time, but his recovery was thorough. He's back to being happy and cycling just like before. I was so impressed by her, that when I reinjured my back yet again, I decided to give her a try, as the pain had become unbearable. She relieved the pain I'd had for five weeks in one session. I am so happy to have found Yvonne at Nuve Therapeutics. I was searching for a good physical therapist to help me with a struggling ankle I had for YEARS, and I was developing other problems because of it. I had seen other physical therapists and was not getting the results I needed. I started to think I wouldn't feel better or return to normal again. After a few months with Yvonne, I am feeling SO much better. I am almost back to running - which is major progress for me. I could barely walk a block or two without getting incredibly stiff and sore. Here's what I really appreciate about Yvonne: 1. Her level of commitment to me (her patient): Yvonne is dedicated to her patients. She spends one on one, focused time with me and asks detailed questions about history and habits to truly understand. She listens and comes up with a personalized plan, and she holds me to it! She checks in on my progress every time, and knowing I have someone holding me accountable keeps me committed as well. 2. Her skillset: Yvonne is really good at what she does. She knows what she's doing!! Her soft tissue work is fantastic - it's like a combination of getting an amazing massage, a chiro adjustment and some exercises - all in one visit. But the result is that you leave feeling balanced and fantastic. Yvonne knows how to treat both adults and children, and adapt her style based on the patient. I have brought both my 5 and 2 year olds to her and it's been fun watching her engage with and treat them. 3. Her holistic approach: Yvonne looks for the root cause. She doesn't just address the symptom (ex. pain in my ankle). She looks for what is causing it, which is not always obvious. My ankle pain was due to my back and hips being misaligned, same with my wrist tendonitis. By focusing on the root cause, it not only eases the pain, but establishes a solid foundation for me to work from going forward. Yvonne also looks at diet and overall health, to help reduce inflammation and stress from other areas that might be aggravating the issue at hand. I couldn't recommend Yvonne more - I really hope others will try her, and be patient, because feeling better WILL come. There were a couple moments I wondered about myself (because i'm impatient), but then all of a sudden, I started improving and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I guess I should realize that suffering from something for over two years won't be resolved in 2 visits. :) But 2 months later, I am functioning more than I have in years. Yvonne and her team are AMAZING! I was experiencing a good amount of pain at the SI joint during my second pregnancy. As a trainer and gym owner, I knew that I needed to do something beyond my standard stretching and mobility routine so I reached out to Yvonne. First of all, she is an amazing listener. She took the time to listen to what was going on, listen to the story of my first birth (my hips didn't open up so it took forever to deliver my first son), and also took the time to talk about the foods I was eating at the time (let's just say that it wasn't the greatest). She gave me doable exercises to do, gently coached me back on track with food (#yikes), and essentially worked her magic on me. And it IS MAGIC! Her and her team are amazing! I can't say enough about how wonderful Yvonne is. I called her about a shoulder injury originally, but once I met with her we reviewed all of my issues. She took a lot of time with me and addressed each issue. Her adjustments was very gentle and she gave me exercises and stretches to do at home to supplement her treatments . She also asked me about my work environment and recommenced that I move my computer screen so I don't have to turn my head to look at it. That simple change has cured my neck pain. I also had persistent knee pain that was causing me to cut down on my activities. She adjusted my hips and knees and recommended some stretches. I am now 100% back to my regular activities and pain free! She also recommended some strengthening exercises for my shoulder and stretches for my back that have done wonders for my shoulder pain. I have been an athlete all of my life and have been feelingly lately that my body was wearing out, but Yvonne made me realize that I just needed to make a few adjustments and now i'm good to go! I'm so fortunate to have found Yvonne on yelp. I was looking for a physical therapist to help with my poor posture. I was also dealing with daily neck/shoulder pain and hip discomfort. On our first appointment, she had me perform a few exercises to evaluate my form and get a better understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. She found my knees had to be adjusted and the right side of my hip was higher than the other. There was no pain while being adjusted and her neck massage towards the end was soothing. She recommended more lemon and vegetables in my diet. Also recommended an exercise to help with my sway back posture. I met with her the following week and she worked on my hips some more plus gave me another exercise to help strengthen my core. Ever since our first visit, my daily neck/shoulder pain and hip discomfort have gone away. My knees feel straight now and my squat technique is on point. Before my right knee would move out a bit when I would squat and It would bother me because I try and practice good form. I feel so fortunate for finding Dr.Yvonne Ramirez. My mother is 67 years of age and has had issues with her right knee for years.
