I tried many pastel de Nata places and this one was my favorite! Nestled in downtown Lisbon, these came out hot and topped with cinnamon (a must in my opinion). It is a packed area and people line up for it but it is without a doubt worth it. Plus you are in the heart of downtown and under the lights at night making for a pretty perfect place to enjoy a top tier pastel de Nata.

Cute place with excellent and speedy service, delicious pasteles de nata, and plenty of seating area. The shop is very clean and you can watch the baking process. The ricotta and spinach quiche was my favorite, and the pasteles de nata are delicious!

This was our first stop in Lisbon after dropping bags at the hotel and was hard to beat. We got off a red eye needing coffee and a light breakfast and they delivered. Service was fast and friendly downstairs then we took our items upstairs to sit and eat. The pastel de nata was my first and turned out to be the best during the trip. The bacon/cheese quiche cup was amazing, cooked perfectly and the pastry so flaky (same pastry as the pastel) My finance loved his sandwich and the espresso based coffee drinks were good as well. Beautiful space upstairs and we took a peak out of the balcony before we left. Only wish we were in Lisbon long enough to return.

Friendly staff here. I just ordered one nata for here and one to go. I sat upstairs in the tea room to enjoy while people watching from the balcony. I ended up eating my second one I had to go! It was absolutely delicious.

I really wanted to like the pastel de natas since I read about all the good reviews and the staff is super friendly. Plus, you can watch the pasteis being made in the window. But sadly, it wasn't my favorite pastel de natas in Lisbon. The crust was flaky and buttery but the custard was way too sweet. There is seating outside and upstairs on the second floor. If you manage to get a seat by the balcony, it's a nice place to people watch.

I tried the Pastel de Nata (Portuguese Egg Tart) at Fabrica Da Nata in Lisbon. The egg tart was pretty good, but nothing really stood out compared to other places, so I'd give it 8/10

very delicious natas! more well done then i'm used to, but i'm not mad at it. on my nata journey, this comes in third place.

My first meal in Lisbon and could not think of a better cafe then this one to welcome me to the city Ambience: I love the ambience of this place! It has beautiful chandeliers and a lot of natural lighting that makes this cafe so beautiful with ample seating space. Food: we ordered the pasteis; cod fish, and coffees. Everything was good! I would skip the cod fish though Service: very fast Price: very cheap!

Prob my favorite pastel de nata compared to Manteigaria and Pastéis de Belém. Perfectly carmelized, flaky, crispy exterior. Soft, custardy center that's just solid enough not to drip out as you take a bite out of it. Ideal crust to filling ratio. Also not as sweet as some other pastel de nata I tried at a couple other bakeries. Their cod croquettes were pretty good here too, a good mix of fish and potatoes so the exterior was crispy and interior was creamy. They sell other sandwiches and items like avocado toast and a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages too, but the stars of the show are their pastéis! Don't forget to sprinkle a little cinnamon on top! Oh there is both outdoor seating on the street directly outside the storefront and indoor seating upstairs! I didn't have a chance to check what it was like upstairs but the outdoor seating has full waitstaff service available too.

Stunning bakery n sandwich shop! Are limited dining experience extended as far as dessert and hot tea. But you can tell this place cranks out quite a few pastries every day. Nice staff. Incredible Pastel de Nata!!!

TAKE ME BACK! Hot and fresh tarts. We ate this every single day during our visit. They have set menus with coffee or wine with your tart. Also they have a breakfast tart in the morning if you need a place to early in the morning. They are constantly pumping these out of the oven. Put cinnamon and sugar on top for extra flavour.

Was good. Custard is not too sweet and has a lovely flavor. But, I think the custard ratio was a bit overwhelming to the pastey ratio. The pastry was not as flaky and not as many laminated layers as Castor (a 5 min walk away). I think the reason is because the person making it was pressing down too hard on the pastry when filling the tin mold. I ordered 2.

    It's ok...

Not a big fan of sitting down one price and ordering take out another. They're pasteis de nata is great but if you want to try the full experience without absorbing an excess price for sit down, there's other ones not located in the tourist street and they actually do honor the set meal special to make it more attractive and affordable.

4.5/ 5 Very good egg tarts. Would say it is the best we had in downtown area of lisbon. Not overly sweet custard and quite flakey crust.

This means I can now say who made them best, and more importantly, why. The interesting thing is, I didn't think the pastel de nata here were particularly great, on any dimension - fairly flimsy, doughy crust, with a pudding-like, drippy filling that was too sweet and not quite eggy enough. Don't get me wrong, I'd still eat them any time someone offered, they were still tasty, you just have a ton of options nearby, some of them notably better than the ones here. I also tried one of their fancy-looking cookies, which definitely looked fancier than it tasted. Was just a cookie. Dessert-wise I was unimpressed. They were also always fairly busy, which made ordering feel a bit rushed. So why am I still giving this bakery 5 stars, and why did I come back here a couple more times, including to get food to-go the morning we left, to get food to take on the plane with us? For exactly one reason, and it's a weird one: oddly enough, the samosas here are the best samosas I've ever had, and by a wide margin. You'd think the best samosas ever would come from an Indian restaurant or bakery, but nope, they're here. The other small savory food items we tried were also pretty good, but the samosas are the juiciest, meatiest, most perfectly bursting with spices samosas I've had. Who knew? They also had pretty solid espresso and pretty solid free-squeezed orange juice, but those aren't hard to find in Portugal (I miss seeing inexpensive fresh squeezed OJ all over the city... especially *truly* fresh squeezed, to order, from whole oranges. Portuguese OJ definitely was the best. Though obviously not *better* than other places you can get the same thing around - probably indeed the same oranges. Definitely better than anywhere you can get fresh OJ for a few bucks in the US, though, if you can find such a place. :p)

As I continue to slowly get through the large list of review drafts I wrote when I was in Portugal,…read moreat this point, a bit over 3 months ago, in no particular order... this was one of two places that ended up on my list of places I had to try a famous bifana sandwich when I was in Lisbon, the other being O Trevo the next day. To both of them equally I say, there are very few places I'd be willing to stand in line for an hour for, and few of them involve meat on bread. Luckily, being the off-season, I didn't have *any* wait to order a sandwich. Unluckily, being the off season, that's also because it kept raining off and on, and this is a strictly take-out affair. So I ended up eating the sandwich under a nearby awning. In nicer weather conditions, though, there are plenty of nearby benches to sit on right there. Would i wait in a long line? I would not. But it was a legitimately great sandwich, great fluffy bread, great cheese if you splurge on cheese (as of a couple months ago, they were 3.5 euro without cheese, 5.5 with cheese), and solid, juicy, meaty meat, even if I do *personally* prefer the thin-sliced version like the other place I went, did. For how filling they are, that'd make them pretty darn affordable, if you don't add cheese, which I would probably keep doing anyway if I lived here, I'd just go when it was the off-season and not busy, *and* not raining*. At least as of when I was there, being a takeout place, they didn't have much in the way of drinks, but there was an unrelated business in the next alcove over selling cheap large glasses of beer and large blended fruity pineapple drinks. p.s. Make sure to absolutely douse your sandwich in mustard and chili oil, if you like spicy food like I do. They're self-serve, and great.

Two years running this was our favorite bifana…read more Location was a bit challenging as only the door leading into the restaurant was for locals while the window on the other side served all others. The challenge was the limited sidewalk in front and the lines extend across the street. People don't always realize they're standing in the middle of a street until they get honked at by a car. Menu was posted on the left behind the window. Plain and with cheese bifanas topped the menu but there were other choices as well like carne asada, egg and fish. Cash was the only tender accepted. The pork in the bifanas was constantly simmered and pulled out to make each sandwich individually. The bread was chibatta like and quite soft that enveloped the strips of pork. I added piri piri aauce and yellow mustard (big squirt bottles available on the counters to each side of the window) which gave it more flavor. A simple but great local sandwich. To avoid lines come at odd hours. I also came a little after lunch hour in moderate rain and there was just one person ahead of me.
