G&G Quick Bite is a good place to grab a late night meal or snack for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. They serve up pizza, calzones, subs, burgers, hot dogs, appetizers, seafood dinners, salads, Italian dinners, chicken, side items, chips, cookies, soda, and layer cake slices. For convenience, they will also deliver items from Nason's Quick Mart including cigarettes, milk candy, etc with food order. The atmosphere inside is very cramped with a small open kitchen, front counter very close to the front window, and a dining area to the right with three booths, TV and lots of beverages piled up against the wall. I've been here during the day when Diane and Sue hold down the busy kitchen and there are delivery drivers in and out of the place. The dialogue between the kitchen staff and the regular customers can get interesting though. Recently, I ordered a Lobster Roll with fries & cole slaw, only $10.49 with tax, a pretty good deal. The lobster meat (claw & knuckle meat, no fillers) was on the chewy side, which was thawed out, then hand mixed with mayo & lettuce on a grilled New England hot dog roll. The fries were very crispy and salty and the good portion of cole slaw was sweet and creamy. I've also had the sausage pizza which has a thin firm crust and loaded with very generous amounts of cheese and sausage, pretty good and heavy. Overall, 3.5 stars. Since changing to the 'slice' website. the prices have gone way up and the quality has gone way down. Considering it was of average quality before, this is not good. I ordered a Chester's Chicken 16 piece, and it was not Chester's Chicken. It was literally half the size it used to be when it was Chester's; When I ordered a year ago, they could barely fit the 16 pieces in 2 quarter pans, yet this order arrived in 1 not full quarter pan. There was zero batter, they might have patted it in flour before they fried it, hard to tell, but whatever it was, it was not Chester's. Paying $4 more than before I could understand. Paying $4 more, plus processing fee, plus delivery fee, for less than half the amount of uncoated unappetizing chicken is a hard no. I love their sweet potato fries and reg. french fries, so last night I ordered a large order and a small order. First complaint: My sister and I called from both our cell phones FIVE times- the phone went to voicemail each time. I started driving there, and finally they answered! The lady was rude and rushing on the phone. I go to pick up the order- there's a drunk couple in the parking lot drinking bottles of beer and acting reckless. I walk inside, several people who seem to work there stare at me and don't smile or welcome me in.. The gentleman behind the corner looked aggravated and annoyed, and there was a customer standing at the counter asking all the employees working on the food to "Look into my eyes"- she was drunk too! I pay for my food.. 10 $ and some change for 2 dollars worth of french fries and a 2 liter.. I was so beyond the caring phase, that I just drove off... The last time we ordered here, they took an hour and forty five minutes to deliver our ONE pizza and soda, and when it arrived it was cold and tasteless... I let it go thinking it was because they were too busy, and we just reheated it in our oven... but after this, we won't be calling them back. Ok. Just got done eating a ton of food from this place. Me and a friend ordered a veggie calzone and the seafood platter. The veggie calzone was okay. Pretty stuffed with broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, black olives, etc. However, the marinara sauce it came with tasted like ajax. It was pretty odd. The seafood platter was a big disappointment. Everything was bland. The scallops, haddock, and clams all just tasted like bland fried nothingness. The coleslaw was basically a tub of mayo with some scraps of cabbage tossed in. The best thing about the seafood platter was the fries. Another thing that sucked was that I had a $10 gift cert. here and after using it I still somehow ended up paying 18 bucks for these 2 items. Granted , the seafood platter was 14 bucks , but does that mean the small veggie calzone was 14 bucks too? I could've gone back and complained I guess but blah. Didn't feel like driving back. The steak and cheese is good although it seems they pre cook the meat and leave it next to grill ( not sanitary) Nobody wears gloves seems pretty dirty overall. This place use to be good a few years ago. All of a sudden it's awful. The food is just plain nasty. There were many times where I would get sour cole slaw, frozen chicken in a cutlet sub, stale sub rolls, and bad cheese on pizzas. Their staff is the worst I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. From the counter help to the delivery drivers. The girls at the counter are rude and usually too busy texting to deal with the customers. The drivers are also rude. They take anywhere from an hour to two hours to deliver. When they get to the house, they expect atleast a $5 dollar tip. There are alot of other places in this area that deserve your hard earned money. Suppa's being one of them. Well I ordered from here about a month ago, we got the teriyaki steak tip dinner and a chicken cutlet sub. The teriyaki steak was delicious, but the sub was disgusting, very bland, soggy. I had $10 gift certificates, but yet it was almost like paying full price. So we try again, without the sub!! We both got the teriyaki steak tip dinner with Jo Jo potatoes. The steak wasn't as good as the last time, and the jo jo's had a seafood taste to them, which was gross. Dip them in ketchup, and they were better. Yet again, the price said 7.95 ea. ok maybe the price went up some, but like i said i had a 10 dollar certificate, still the total came to $15 i had to pay. So I guess, regular price would've been $25??? I know there is taxes, but not that much!! And both times the price was an even dollar amount. Ok so a bit of extra on the other. I was then told that they can only do a small amount dor a replacement. When i gotmy dish i was sad. The shrimp was rubber. Then i called, ? I knew it would eventually happen that I had to give a place 1-star. I can't comment on the quality of the food. I never got a chance to eat there. I called for delivery after they were "recommended" by the staff of the Motel 6 in Twerkville (the recommended is in quotations because it would have been the only place open on Monday night). I gave them my location, which is at the Applebees/motel 6/Home Depot on Main Street. The girl on the phone said they deliver there. Good. Then they asked me the room number. Well... I don't have a room number. I'm in my truck waiting to deliver to Applebees and haven't ate since Ohio. At that point I was informed that without a room number they could not deliver because of a "security risk". Well ok. Deliver to the front desk at motel 6 then. They don't mind.... But no! It is still a "security risk". So let me get this straight; you will deliver to a random hotel room at a Motel 6 where you don't know if I will open the door butt naked or with a gun or who knows... But I can't meet a delivery driver in the lobby of the exact same establishment? What sense does that make? I have been driving for over a decade. A lot of it oil field where they have delivered out in the desert to a well in the middle of nowhere. I have had places deliver to my truck at shipping docks while I was in a door. I have had places deliver to malls and walmarts and all kinds of weird spots. That is the point of delivery; sometimes you can't go pick it up. This is the only place I have ever come across that wouldn't. And again; they won't delivery to the lobby of a hotel but they will deliver to a room at the same hotel? I guess when you are the only game in town you can make stupid rules like that and what are you going to do about it? Can't go someplace else I guess. You know what I can do about it? I can trash your shitty place on Yelp. And let you know that I will never ever call your place again. I would also like to point out that I am a black gay cripple from the war and I think you are racist, homophobic, and hate disabled people and veterans. To put it simply, G&G is a decent place to order food if it's late and you're hungry. It's a pizza place, not a gourmet restaurant, so stick to the basics. The pizzas, subs, calzones, and most of the "normal" sides are consistently prepared and taste good. By "normal" sides I mean things like french fries, cajun fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and cheesy fries... Nothing exotic. Beyond that, I can't comment, because I've stayed away from anything that I don't think a pizza place could make well, such as seafood. The employees are nice enough, most of the food is edible, and it's open late every night of the week. What more could you ask for? Well, a lot, but come on, it's just a pizza place. read more
