I ordered a pepperoni pizza large for pick up, when I arrived I paied the cashier who I believe is the wife of the owner, she went to get my order, and I see her speaking to the cook and long story short they didn't make my pizza. IT happens and I would of been fine waiting for a new pie but instead they ignored me and didn't say anything they took a cheese pizza heated some pepperoni on the grill and tossed on the pizza with all the extra grease from the pepperoni. The cashier then handed the pizza to me like nothing happened, I am never eating there again and I am embarrassed for them as the owner used to be a chef in Boston. This is why small restaurants go under in the first few years because of employees that don;t care. John G read more

This place has potential - like most places in the Southern NH / Northern MA region the quality and level of standards isn't what it should be for its price points. A salad, sub or pizza.. even 1 small item shouldn't be quoted at a 20-minute wait and then when you arrive 25-30 minutes later be told "Whoops we forgot" and then proceed to mess up on the order because of lack of efforts in the details. This happened on several occasions. Some visits the food was OK, others not good at all. The economic climate is horrendous -- if you want loyal customers, especially with your price points and if seek high ratings and word of mouth spread to others - you have to hire good help and elevate the quality in your output. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mave's! The cheesesteak sub and cheesesteak calzones are top-notch, especially with fresh sliced mushrooms. Their chicken parm is fantastic whether it's as a meal, sub, or calzone. The chicken fingers are absolutely delicious. Their homemade gnocchi is excellent. The eggplant is delicious too. We're working our way through the menu and haven't disliked anything yet. We also tried their catering for Easter and it was wonderful. Everything in the dessert case is tasty. Tried at the recommendation of my cousin, and I'm so glad I did! We started off with the spinach arancini. Honestly? 10/10. Deep fried to perfection. Creamy and cheesy in the middle, everything you want in this classic Italian appetizer. I got the chicken broccoli ziti. Ultimate comfort food! The alfredo sauce is rich and creamy, plenty of chicken. I typically like my alfredo a bit thicker, but this was so fresh and authentic so I really can't complain my husband got the chicken parm with penne and he thought it was phenomenal. The sauce is OUTSTANDING. He's a picky eater so to see him genuinely enjoy this meal so much was wonderful. We both got dessert; he got tiramisu that was rich in flavor and I got a cannoli, which was made fresh to order and delicious. We even got a piece of focaccia bread that was outstanding - fresh out of the oven I think I heard an employee say to another customer! The lady who waited on us (owner maybe? I've only been there once, just because we don't eat out that often, however, as an Italian, I appreciated the freshness of the pasta, the authentic Italian choices (with american standbys), and the flavor that reminded me of family cooking. I had the veal parm with ziti. I loved how I was asked my choice of cheese when I ordered. I initially wanted gnocchi but they explained that they make their own pasta, had run out, and had been busier than expected otherwise would have made more throughout the evening. Having rolled gnocchi, pressed ravioli, and cranked cavatelli in countless amounts as a child, I could appreciate their predicament. The veal was just the right size, cooked perfectly, topped with an appropriate amount of cheese and served with amazing fresh ziti and sauce. My son had the meatballs. I didn't try any but I could tell by the way he quietly ate all of it that he approved. My other son had the same as myself, he didn't finish it all but ate it the next day. He never eats pasta the second day, so clearly this was quality pasta. He also gave two thumbs up. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to visit and just writing this review has made me hungry! The only thing that could make this place better is if they expanded into a traditional Italian bakery next door. Let me just start by saying Maria and Victor are two of the nicest people you'll interact with. They clearly love their work and treat it like art and it shows in the food they dish out. We recently have been frequenting this place and wanted to make sure I do my part to support a deserving local business especially in these tough economic times. So far everything we have had here has been top notch. The most scrumptious chicken Parm, the juciest steak tips, the bombest steak bomb (aka loaded cheese steak) and their chipotle chicken sub/wrap. Their pickles are one of the best too! Their food is genuinely fresh, made with real good ingredients and certainly no skimping on the portion sizes. All I can say is glad we discovered them recently, would like to spread the word of their awesomeness and looking forward to trying out the dinner/pasta family sized entrées. Mave's Kitchen is the cutest little hidden gem. If I hadn't found this place on Yelp, I'm not sure I ever would've found them! I'm glad I did. As soon as we arrived we felt like we were in a homey environment. There was a chef still preparing our order, and a friendly woman cashing us out. We were amazed to see that the Italian cold cuts for the Italian sub we ordered, were sliced to order on the spot! You never really see that anymore, so that was really cool. Not to mention, the sub delicious. Also had a cheese pizza and an order of raviolis with marinara, all very good. If you love their sauce, you can take it home in a jar! There was a great variety of homemade jarred sauces on the counter. This place just felt like home, great customer service, and great tasting fresh food to take home for an easy dinner. They opened yesterday! (10/26/17) We lucked out. What a great place. A little easy to drive past on Rte.3A-Middlesex Rd. Mave's Kitchen uses the same parking lot as Cazadores Mexican restaurant which has a big sign. If you have time and it's not too busy, talk to the owners, Maria and Victor (also the chefs and only staff). You'll understand how everything on the rather extensive menu is so uniquely delicious. They're so friendly and nice. Although there is much more than pizza, just looking at the pizza choices you'll get an idea about how creative all the food is. There are 5 booths for dining. And take out is a really good idea if you're in a hurry. They definitely earn 5 stars. read more

OMG Mave's is such a WONDERFUL restaurant we can't recommend it highly enough. The food is all lovingly home made and delicious! Even the red sauce and soups are home made. Some of my favorite dishes at Mave's include the home made soups like the outstanding New England Clam Chowder and last week we got amazing turkey soup Victor made - both excellent! The onion rings are battered and made to order and they are also delicious. Home made turkey, steak and cheese, salads all excellent. Home made chicken and veal parmigiana breaded and cooked to order, yum! Oh did I forget to mention the great home made meatballs?! Today the lunch special was roast beef sandwich - also made at Mave's - one of the best roast beef sandwiches I have ever had. SO GOOD! Working in the area for the 1st time and was craving an Italian Sub, so after briefly checking out Yelp, found this little gem about a mile away. People inside were super friendly and after 5 minutes you knew they knew everyone that walked thru the door by name. My sub was packed with delicious cold cuts and the bread couldn't have been any fresher. I hadn't had breakfast so I was hungry and the generous portion in this sandwich put my hunger to rest. I love this place. Tiny, family-run, home-cooked meals that are always delicious. I follow them on Facebook for updates on the daily specials, and 9 times out of 10 I end up getting the special. Friday night was lobster ravioli with shrimp in a rose sauce. It was enough for two meals for me, and the sauce was so good I wanted to drink it. My fiancé got the steak tip special and they were awesome. Homemade desserts like chocolate truffle cake, whoopie pies, cannoli are always fresh and delicious. Be it a angus steak sub, turkey dinner, sloppy joe (an amazing lunch special that pops up here and there, dont allow the low brow reputation of the average sloppy joe fool you, the homemade sauce is sooo good), fish and chips, steak tips, meatballs, foccaccia, salads, etc, all super solid, and def recommended.
