First time here and went for 2026 Maple festival pancake breakfast. Shadow Hill Maple Syrup is one of the largest facilities in NY State. $15 for all you can eat buckwheat or buttermilk pancakes. Plenty of seating. You can also add mimosa, sausage, eggs or donuts for additional costs. Service was friendly. You walk thru the line and get your food and then if you want more it is self serve. The store is next door has a great selection of syrups, candy, donuts. They do samplings of their syrups. Beautiful view overlooking the grounds which you can walk and see the pump house and waterfalls. Beautiful manicured landscape. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon Shadow Hill in 2023 for Maple Weekend. It was by far our favorite of all the maple farms we went to. We went today and met Fred, a family member and he chatted with us about syrup and then took us for a ride all around the grounds! We walked in last year and it's stunning, but it was a really fun and unique experience and I was so touched by how down to earth and kind he was. We ended up in the lodge for some delicious donuts by the fire. What a beautiful place and family! read more

When we were first looking for a reception location in Rochester, we wanted the venue to be unique, as if you weren't in the typical "Rochester area." As soon as our wedding planner suggested the Lodge at Shadow Hill, we were eager to check it out. Gretchen and her husband Mike have such an incredible, unique property. We were in awe, from the custom woodwork, stone design, and landscape to the "mountain-like" feel. We felt like we had transplanted to the Adirondacks. Gretchen was great to work with and organized everything the day of. Her bar staff was incredible and extremely friendly. Highly recommend this venue & their team. read more

Shadow Hill Maple farm is one of my favorite places to visit with family. The physical structure keeps getting better each year and the staff continue to be knowledgeable, Friendly, Kind and welcoming.... The prices for really NY maple syrup is a value- and I look forward to stock up each March... please do not forget to take a walk around the property and see all about how Maple Syrup is made... We went on one of the maple weekends in March. I am giving this a 4 star because they had a ton of samples in their store (enough to make yourself sick or give yourself diabetes) and the grounds are very neat. As for the pancake breakfast, it seems a little pricy. I paid $12 for 3 small pancakes with maple syrup. You could get sausage for $14. It is all you can eat, but it was crazy and I am not going up to that line again! Not that I need more than 3 pancakes. Also, no one was wiping down tables in between visitors, so that was kind of gross. Overall, I thought it was a neat place and experience. read more

Awesome, awesome place in Ontario - a bit of a drive from the city, but an excellent experience on a late Saturday morning. Shadow Hill Maple Syrup is really nestled up there in the countryside off of some side roads off of 104, but you can absolutely tell the love the family has for this business. They have a wonderfully large farm with maple trees as far as the eye can see and several buildings that even look to be expanding, and the quality of the five different maple syrups they have here is off the charts. Whether you're looking for something intense and robust, or something more light and caramel-y, they have what you need. Between various confections like maple cotton candy, maple cream spread, and maple and pepper-spiced nuts, to flavored maple syrups with blueberry, vanilla, and bourbon, this family really has the science down and they really show it off excellently in everything they produce. Not only that, they have a $9 all-you-can-eat buckwheat and buttermilk pancake breakfast on the weekends to which you can add sausage, eggs, donuts, or drinks for a little extra. They make everything from scratch, and the familial feeling you get at sitting at a table with family, friends, or new friends you meet while sitting at a communal table is something you don't see too often, and more than welcome in my book! Overall, just a wonderful feel-good establishment with people who really care about what they do shared with warm people who all want to experience the joy of maple syrup and its byproducts in New York. Wonderful surprise! Set in a wilderness with a walking trail, pond, bridge, and newly built lodge. Annual March open house and pancakes. The staff are super nice and the pancakes and syrup are great. I recommend this as an annual visit for sure. My only wish is to speed up their order process (get an iPad and square) but more importantly get some real plates and silverware (not cool serving a paid meal with paper plates and plastic forks). Went to the Open House over the weekend. Glad I found this place on the Internet (after seeing it was the Maple Syrup Festival weekend on the news). Place was great, everyone so nice, had an open house with free samples - everything was AMAZING. Ended up getting a whole lot of syrup, candies and maple cream. Make sure you go on the trail and see the pump house, bridge and lake. read more
