SHOCKING!!!! I went to G and S pools today with my daughter to have my pool water tested. I have a frog system and was told by my brother in law to go there because he went there to have his water tested ( same frog system) and they were the only ones to get it right. I have very little experience when it comes to pools and trust my brother in laws advice very much. So when he told me to head over there I did not hesitate. When I walked in I was greeted immediately by a friendly worker who asked if I needed help. I asked to have my water tested and she asked If I had ever been there before because they normally go by appointment. I immediately apologized and said I did not know. She was very nice and said it was not a problem and asked what system I had, I told her it was a frog system. A tall women with grey short hair ( I was later told may be the owner??) whipped her head around in the middle of helping another customer and very rudely told me they do not carry that system and would not test the water. I proceeded to tell her my brother in law had the same system and had his water tested with them and they were the only one to get it right and that that is the only reason why I was there because he spoke so highly of them. Again very rudely in front of my 12 year old daughter she proceeded to be very rude and tell me she would not test the water. She said since I purchased the system through Montalbano's she said they would not be testing the water that they need to deal with the problem. Completely unprofessional and shocking to be spoken to that way. I am not a confrontational person at all and I walked away so upset . Why turn business away like that, there is a correct way to speak to people. I was prepared to bring my business there, as I needed a few things. I had planned on buying all the chemicals to get the water corrected, I also needed a new cover for pool and various other items I was actually planning on purchasing. She lost my business and now my brother in law who was apologetic and later told me she was the one who had helped him. I don't ever write negative reviews, but decided to write this so that maybe this women can learn how to talk to people!!!!!! read more

I walked in one day looking for chemicals for my pool I was met by hazel. As soon as we started talking I was treated like I've been a customer there for a long time. Hazel gave me information about my pool that I didn't know especially since I just installed a heater. Even during these hard times Hazel tested my water explained everything I needed to do to protect my pool and heater. Had to go to this place because my usual pool store was closed and they wanted to charge me $10 dollars for a water test ! $10 to dip and stick in a water not like the usual computer test i usually get at my regular pool store. They then " did me a favor " by giving me the water test for $5 dollars because I bought something. Their place is nuts I recommend Montalbano's pool and spa on victory Blvd next to mother moose staff is way nicer and much more helpful they also do free COMPUTER water test for free and you don't need to purchase something for this service. Bottom line I will not be returning to G&S ever again read more

I called to see if they have a service tech who could come check out my pool pump, which was making an odd noise. I had done a bunch of research and made some tweaks but still wasn't sure of the issue. The woman (yay girl power) I spoke to on the phone was SUPER helpful and talked me through the issue. (Haven't tried her suggestion yet but it makes total sense and she sounded very confident). I haven't been into the store yet, but with this level of service, patience, and kindness, G&S will be my new go-to. read more

By far the best service on the island! I have been using them since I moved here 3 years ago and they always are professional, courteous and reliable. This year when we went to open the pool, they discovered a tear in the lining. What should have been a simple replacement turned out to be way more complicated than that. It seems that when the pool was installed, (not by G&S), things were not done correctly, leading to many unforeseen problems. Just replaced our pool liner using G & S. They didn't install the original pool liner so they meticulously measured the replacement liner. The pool is kidney shaped so it took time. The owner Chris came 3 times to ensure proper fitting. It was promptly installed by Anthony , Greg & Joe. They took their time to ensure correct installation. The next two days they, completed the squencial necessary adjustments. From start to finish, it was an extremely professional experience. Advice given wasn't for extra money in their pocket. The staff at the store also treats you right when it comes to pool chemistry. In today's age of selfish owners, the owners and staff of G & S are a welcome relief. read more

G&S price was not the cheapest but I felt extremely comfortable with Chris's expert knowledge and responsiveness. This is apparently a family owned business that I have been referring to all my neighbors because his wife (Hazel) was also very friendly and knowledgeable. They were prompt and efficient. Came when they said they were coming and returned calls promptly. Would highly recommend this company to everyone. My liner looks fabulous - not a wrinkle in it and it fits perfectly. I purchased 2 items at 29.99 each. I tried to return them in 7 days with my charge card and was told I needed the exact charge card not the companion one to the account. then I got the correct crd from from husband and the owner said those items are 19.99 not 29.99 even though I had a receipt. She insisted I could have something else at 29.99 even though I didn't. she wound onle give me a store credit for 19.99 x 2. Poor customer service. read more

g n s installed a pool liner in our 12x20 pool the installer poorly installed the liner and the liner started coming apart from the wall,he also did not smooth out the bottom of the pool which we paid for and when we complained we got no answer from calls we made.very very poor business relations and poor workman ship read more

G & S POOLS Installed my pool over 16 years ago. In my opinion they are the best by far. They opened my pool in May, and I thought I needed a new filter, but Chris, the Owner sent one of his installers to check it out and he made some adjustments and it ran like new. Recently, with all the Pollen in the air, we get a lot of white fluff in our pool and in the backyard, I noticed that the motor wasn't running properly and this time I thought for sure I would need a new one. Once again, Chris sent his installer and he sent about an hour cleaning it out and it works beautifully. G&S saved me approximately $500.00 (the cost of a new motor). G&S advises me on the proper PH Balance my pool needs, and because I listened and took their professional advise, my heater has lasted over 16 years. So just because you think your water is clean doesn't mean its balanced properly. Let the experts do their job. I would never even consider going anywhere else.
