I can't believe this place is still in business. They never reimbursed me for having to pay a mobile mechanic to fix their f'up. I instructed them to replace my alternator, they didn't but they did replace my battery. However they didn't replace the burned out battery cable end that was missing a section at the battery! This cost me plenty to have done after it broke down half way home. Honest shop?? In what world? I did everything they asked me to do. Sent pictures, and pics of the repair bill. 100 deg. Heat, broken down in a not running motor home, recovering from a major surgery unable to work on it myself(doctors orders at the time) I wasn't happy at the time, still not happy years later. I do go out of my way to tell everyone I meet about getting ripped off by G and T truck repair! I have told 3-400 people about it. I am going to tell everyone I meet about it as long as they owe me. Our batteries on our 2014 Tiffin Allegro Bus Motorhome needed to be replaced. They were big, heavy and suddenly dead ... so we could not start the engine!!! We were in an RV Park in Auburn, CA and needed HELP, fast! I called around and knew I had found a top notch knowledgeable, professional shop when they asked me for the VIN Number of our Coach. The VIN number told them what they needed to know about our batteries! I found top professional HELP in G & T Truck Repair!!! Ryan was informative, helpful, and caring! He explained in detail the cost of mobile service. At 82 my husband could not lift the heavy batteries or install them. I gladly paid the fees associated with their expertise coming to us to fix the problem and get us up and running! Ryan is exceptional and made things happen that very day!!! He sent out Travis, a top notch mechanic, who was polite, courteous, and very knowledgable. He wasted no time in replacing the engine batteries and did a nice, clean job in a very tight space!!! I was so impressed and pleased with his work I asked him to look at all my chassis batteries, all 6 of them! Thank goodness I did! They were a mess with white stuff on them! The top of the batteries had connections going all over! I thought "How could anyone ever figure this mess out"! Travis stood and looked at it and said this is pretty simple as he rattled off what he saw! He said he would need to order the batteries but would be back out in the morning! He really knew what he was doing! Travis was Very knowledgable and a great worker. He did not waste any time but got right to business! I LOVE this company!!! Having been on the road for over 15 years, 8 months out of every year, we have had a LOT of work done on our coaches. I would rate this company at the very top of my list of repair shops dealing with the diesel engine. They are very knowledgeable, professional, polite and caring. Back in 2021 I made the wise decision to fly one way from NH to Sacramento to purchase a vintage 1974 GMC Motorhome and drive it cross country home. After purchasing the rig and driving 45 miles East I began hearing terrible backfiring and loss of power. Noises that will forever haunt me. I had to get off I-80 and everywhere was closed leaving me to sleep in a dirt parking lot feeling like an absolute donkey over my latest purchase. After looking for nearby service all night and the following morning I connected with G&T. Although they said they were extremely busy they understood the ridiculous situation I had landed myself in and kindly agreed to work on my RV. A decision I will forever be grateful for. They diagnosed that the radiator had a pinhole size hole in it, had to be recored, and it needed an engine tune up which included a new differential and coils. They got right into disassembling the radiator to ship it off to be recored. The GMC motorhome has an extremely tight front end so removing and reinstalling the radiator was no easy feat. Without their support I wouldn't have even been able to leave the state of California on my cross country trip. These guys absolutely rule because they took me in even though they didn't have the time for me, were extremely pleasant each and every time I called to get updates (which I'm sure was more frequent then they would have liked) and did an excellent job getting my RV fixed. They let my truck to be stolen, literally stolen from their property as they left it outside of the gate with keys inside into the night (!) and after that basically said "here's some discount and that's it, not our problem, we don't care, it was your fault to a great extent". I won't recommend leaving anything valuable nearby this place, let alone giving these people access to your vehicle. My initial thoughts on this business were quite positive. My employees have been there on their way from the coast to Reno got a tire blown on my box truck in the middle of the night on a highway nearby. Damage from the tire explosion took out the electric fuse box. Got a towing truck that towed the truck to this place. Called them in the morning, asked for taking a look into it. And they did. Replaced the tire with a new one and patched the fuse box to some extent. I asked them about the price to make a permanent repair, they agreed to do it. All the time the truck been parked outside of the business. I rented another truck, got the cargo from the damaged one to a rented one. Got to the office and we had an agreement that they will park it inside the gated and fenced perimeter. They never did. They forgot that we had that agreement even though I had the agreement with the company owner himself and there were at least 2-3 other employees right next to us. They remembered that we had this agreement only after I reminded them about that. They told me that probably I left after they've left, which isn't true. I left in an Uber at 3:30 PM and they still were open for a good hour and a half after that. After that, they've been polite but quite dismissive and just offered some discount on the repairs after they've left my truck in an open field with keys inside. Some property has been stolen from the truck too. They've never called me on the missing truck, basically, someone from that area stole the truck and they thought that I took it. The person who stole the truck later returned the truck back. Again -- they never even called me back even after that. I only learned that something's wrong then I called at the date then it should've been ready for a pickup. Was it a good first impression? Yes. Was it the worst experience with any service company in my life? Absolutely. Yes. So if you're looking for a first impression or for a quick repair then you're sticking around - sure. But if you're looking for anything else - NO. Just find a decent truck repair company and you'd be happy you did. read more

I typically don't go out of my way to leave bad reviews, but I would not recommend this service. I was driving through from out of town and needed to find a mechanic and chose to visit because it was rated so well. After experience, I do not see why. I went there to get some thing changed for my van and ended up leaving with nothing new learned and no work done but still having to pay $$$ for them to tell me "work had been done." I thought they'd be diesel experts since they deal with trucks but that was not my experience. The time they did take as 'labor' was only work done to look up the part I brought and tell me it was not compatible(even though after reviewing all manufacturing/and contacting the parts company - it was). Also, they told me they could help me resolve the car trouble I was having by running a diagnostic(plugging computer in for codes) and telling me what exactly it was -an extra charge - on top of the minutes of 'labor' cost they considered hour to tell me the part was wrong. Typically the service of plugging a computer in to tell you fault codes is part of a mechanical service, I did not find it very fair that they charged me for this on top of it. Then for the report, they told me they'd give me a full diagnostic as well as break down exactly what parts to order and what else needed to be done. They did not, they gave me the sheet of paper then told me that to investigate each one they'd have to charge me another fee and run it another day. The codes they pulled were codes I was already aware of, that my mechanic and I had tracked prior. The whole thing was a waste of time and definitely money. I paid $$ to walk out with nothing new learned and no further expectation to get help. Giving 2 stars because the staff that directly attended me was pleasant. read more

Truck broke down going over Donner Pass. They were quick to respond & took care of what needed to be fixed.

We were traveling from Sonoma County to Sturgis, South Dakota pulling a 5th Wheel with Harley on an extension when our truck broke down a mile from Applegate. G & T not only towed the whole setup, but allowed us to park and stay in our RV in their lot. The next day they notified us that repairs to our Dodge Ram 2500 would cost way more than feasible. They then loaned us a vehicle to visit local a auto dealer, where we purchased a 2017 F350. They are currently transferring our fifth wheel hitch from Dodge to Ford. They were the kindest people I have ever encountered when dealing with vehicle repairs! They went above and beyond, even allowing us to shower in their shop! read more

These guys nailed it! They were the 3rd RV emergency roadside service our insurance co. sent to provide asst. ( that's a story for another review.) Wayne showed up w a rig outfitted w all the right equipment, and a skill set to problem solve what we thought would be a simple tire replacement. Then he followed us to their work yard to await the delivery of new lug bolts, as 2 of ours had to be destroyed removing our tire. They even provided a loaner vehicle so we could drive into town for lunch. I can't say enough good about them! read more

G&T Truck repair is awesome! I brought my truck in for new brakes, shocks, suspension upgrades, and installation of an aftermarket air conditioning system. My truck was fixed under budget, and on time. The mechanics who worked on my truck were sharp, and seemed to love their work. The quality of work on this rather complex repair/installation was exceptional. The owner, George, was a pleasure to deal with. I myself am an ASE certified mechanic, and I typically cringe at the thought of letting people work on my vehicles. For the majority of my life, I've dealt with mostly incompetent, negligent, dishonest, morally questionable mechanics and repair shops. I have worked in the Auto industry back in the 70's/80's. Took my Motorhome into G&T Truck Repair and was surprised on how clean this shop was especially for a truck repair shop. The people there are all friendly and smile they all seem very happy and enjoy there Job (not walking around hating there job with a frown on there face). There work is very good and seem to be VERY HONEST. They could have taken me to the cleaners because the A/C didn't work and was the 3rd shop to do the repair (Two other shops have tried to fix the problem) and it was just a simple repair. The bill was very reasonable. When I went to pick up my M/H Jake followed me out to it so he could make sure there was no mud in the M/H after I went into it (Here In Calif. everything is muddy with all the rain and snow). Unbelievable is all I can say. I would never use this company again. They charged me 5 times what they originally quoted me for what should have been a very simple repair on a very low hour little john deere tractor I use around my property. Original estimate was $600 for a couple faulty parts which turned in to them having to send parts off to another vendor to try to troubleshoot after they forgot about me and left it sitting for two weeks. Result was a bill of over $3200 with absolutely no warning. Over $2000 in labor to remove a fuel pump, open it up and do god only knows what really and put it back on. Lame and such BS after just having the battery cable pop off during operation. read more

I would never recommend G&T! I had my truck towed to their shop in Applegate to determine why it wouldn't start. After a couple of days I called George and he didn't know anything about the truck, so I called a couple of days later and asked again. He indicated that they replaced the solenoid. When asked what it was going to cost he hadn't received the details from the technician. My wife called him the next day, still no estimate. We finally went to pick up the truck today. He still hadn't determined the cost and had to call his technician to determine how much labor. No paperwork just word of mouth. He finally told me it was ~$900. I almost lost it. When asked why he didn't call with estimate prior to work. George indicated that he was a commercial shop and didn't give estimates!!!! He proceeded to tell me he could take the solenoid out of the truck but implied that I would still have to pay the ~$400 in labor. I later found a solenoid for ~$100. I will never go back to him again. My understanding is that auto mechanics are support to give estimate prior to doing any work. I don't trust George or his shop. read more

G&T Truck Repair was courteous and responsive to my request to tow my truck to their shop after a breakdown on the side of the freeway. This was in contrast my AAA tow service, which had me wait 6 hours and then told me to call someone else. The service here was INCREDIBLE. The best that I have ever experienced. They went the extra mile to repair my truck, ahead of schedule, and even offered to drive it to me, as I was out of the area. These guys are the real deal!
