I am a 56 yr old with a bad back that likes to ride 20-30 miles on the weekend. Went to see Michael to solve some problems I had with rt. knee pain as well as tweak the bike in better. He did an assessment of my flexibility, measured the fit of my current bike, and then made the adjustments based on video and physical measurements. Michael was very during the whole process. Turns out my knee problems were largely due to the seat being out of position. Michael raised my seat, moved it back and swapped out the stem to maintain my posture. I thought he would fiddle with my cleats but apparently those were OK. Also, got some orthotics to reduce knee stress. On all my rides up to this point, I would get knee pain at 4 mi. On my first post-fit ride, I rode 20 miles with no pain whatsoever. I rode 25 the next day, again with no pain. Also, raising the seat added some measurable speed. Out the door cost me $200, which includes a followup. Michael sent me off with all the measurements, etc so I can set up the next bike more quickly. For me, the money spent was well worth it and I not only ride with less pain and worry about joint damage but ride a bit faster too. Hopefully, will be ready for a century some day. read more
