Poor customer service across the board. Came in for 3 pedicures, the water was cold the entire time. Not relaxing at all! She stated that the building is old and it takes a long time to heat up. The massage chair was inconsistent in operation. I asked for the blue salt which is normally tossed in prior to putting your feet in for antiseptic purposes , she said they don't have. The foot tub seemed suspect, just water nothing fancy. Staff are unfriendly, and dry. This is my first and last time coming here. Only plus is she painted my toes neatly and WiFi. So if you don't mind cold pedicures and massage chairs with problems, come here. read more

G-nails is consistently amazing. They never shy away from a challenge, are detail oriented, and create works of art that last. The acrylic nails I've gotten done here twice have each lasted a month, and could've probably lasted longer but I got them filled or replaced. I can bring in a picture I find online always get incredible end results. There's plenty of opportunities for feedback during nail shaping, painting, etc. so even if you're shy like myself, they make it easy to feel like you're not being demanding while getting what you want. CAUTION! I reserved a time at this establishment, yet they serviced a walk-in group ahead of me, even though I arrived before them! After 20 minutes past my reservation time, I let them know I had to leave. Keep in mind, the walk in group had begun to be serviced at least ten minutes before I left. I have always thought that calling in and reserving a time would ensure me of appropriate service. At GNails, this is not the case. I don't think I'll be coming back here! I came here with a friend and got a manicure a few months ago so they may have changed. There are two women that work at G-nails and I got the one that wasn't the owner. First off, she asked me if I wanted to pay upfront so that I wouldn't mess up my manicure at the end, sounded like a good idea so I did. Now, this next part might be my fault, but I learned you always tip at the end. I think she was expecting one right away since she sort of grimaced. While she had filed, buffed, and cut my cuticles carefully, the service went way downhill. I picked a lighter color so the normal two coats weren't quite enough. I stopped her before she added the topcoat but the last coat seemed rushed and the ending polish came out uneven. My manicure also started chipping off after a day and a half. I don't work with my hands a lot so this surprised me, they normally last about a week before chipping. All in all, I'm giving it 2 stars. The woman who was working on me wasn't very welcoming - I had to keep asking her questions about herself to get her to engage. Service went down dramatically when she thought I wasn't going to tip. I understand having bad days - but I've heard bad things about her from other people too. For the record, I tipped what I normally do - 30%. The only reason I rate it two stars is that my friend liked her job. read more

Tina does a great job but I recently took my mom there and some other girl did an acrylic fill for her. First of all her nails are not even the same length and her nails are getting chipped by her cuticles even though it has been only one week since they done her nails. I'm disappointed at this poor customer service and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

The Paradise Pedicure is the most amazing thing ever. Here they massage your legs/feet for such a long time and I never feel rushed. I would definitely recommend this nail salon and would recommend the paradise pedicure. I had came to G-nails because the appointment I had at another salon was cancelled. I will definitely be making this my regular nail salon. I've never been more in love with the service and my nails than I am now. I've gone to various locations multiple times and always left disappointed due to one reason or another. Maybe because I'm picky and know exactly what I want and felt like other salons never quite understood what I wanted. But the ladies understood me and were very attentive to what I had asked for. I got my usual: acrylic gel full set and standard pedicure. Their standard pedicure includes a hot stone massage which is to die for! Super relaxing! The lady who did my full set had kept apologizing to me because she felt like she had rushed due to the fact that I had came in right before a huge party of five women who were already booked. Those women seemed like they were regulars there too. And funny enough, this was the first time that I didn't feel like they were hurrying to get the job done. Both ladies were fantastic, service and job performance! The only ever time I've ever been in love with a salon and my nails was when I went to a salon in LA! Highly recommend this place!! read more

I got my nails done here today for the first time and I will definitely be getting my nails done here from now on! I am used to getting my nails done in the LA area where there are lots of cool nail bars so I can be pretty picky about my nails. Tina's work definitely met my standards! She gave me a super cute full set of acrylic stiletto nails with baby pink shimmery polish on top. She took her time even though the salon was pretty busy, has great attention to detail, and was very accommodating. She was patient with me when I was being picky about the shape and was very sweet and friendly! One of my biggest pet peeves is when the acrylic isn't filed down on the top and ends up being super thick and chunky looking -- this was not an issue with Tina! She rocked my nails. I even walked out when my nails were still wet because I figured I'd be fine and ended up messing up a nail... I went back in and Keith happily fixed it for me, which I am extremely grateful for. As for the shop itself, they had a great selection of polishes and gels, the prices were reasonable, Tina and Keith both seemed very knowledgable, everyone was friendly, and the place was super cute and clean! I will definitely be returning and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to get some quality acrylic nails (and anything else, I'm sure)! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE!! So I went in with a full set of nails and asked for just a filling and to fix my pinky nail which was fully broken. The only fatter Asian lady there was the one doing my nails (I couldn't get her name). So half way through I notice that the pinky nail wasn't even with the rest. Now I'm no perfectionist BUT IT WAS OBVIOUSLY CROOKED AND NOT THE RIGHT SHAPE. I usually go to a very nice nail location in my home town but I decided to try one here in Davis. My friend and I have been waiting a long time to get our nails done and so we were very excited. It was a mistake coming here. Don't know why they have good reviews. The only thing good was the place had decent prices. They did not go all the way to the sides or the tips on nails. And I had them try a simple design on one nail and try just kept messing up. Overall messy job! My friend go acrylics and they smudged on her immediately and they never checked in her. They left nail polish on the sides of both our nails. She had to go home and redo them herself. They were nice people but a place I would only go at last resort, if u have an even ok salon, stick to them and pass this place. read more

I visited G Nails and Spa today because it was recently recommended to me. I had a poor experience at another nail salon and didn't know where to turn to. Even without an appointment they did their best to get me in quickly. I got gel acrylics. Everyone there was so nice and talkative. The lady that did my nails was very meticulous (something I really appreciate and did not get at the last place) and took her time. I never felt rushed. She even finished with a arm/ hand massage! I was happy to find a place to take me as a walk-in when I needed a mani-pedi last week. The woman who did my nails was very nice, although I was a little put off by how the manager was in the back room, and when I came in and started talking to the woman he pushed his way between us to try and upsell me. There was some weird tension between the manager and the nail techs that I really didn't like. Their services are a little more expensive than what I pay in other places in Davis, but I was in a tight spot so I went with it. The pedicure was very nice, but the mask they put on my arms during the manicure really burned. Also, every single one of my nails on my hands were chipped the next morning, and I didn't even do the dishes. I had to take off the polish and paint them myself less than 24 hours after the manicure. Less than a week later and all my toes are chipped too. I won't be back. read more

First time writing a review and that is cause I am livid. I went to G nail not too long ago, I usually go to natural nails which I think is way better. Besides the point, I got my nails done at G nails, customer service was great but unfair. I was not only charged full price while other customers had a sale. On top of that, I decided to go back the next day to change my color, the manager had no patience or concern instead was blaming me for my decision. I had a paradise pedicure and basic manicure ($40 with the 20% discount off any service of $25 or more). Service was good, not pushy about adding on extras. Good foot and leg massage. My only complaint is that they filed my nails into a shape that wasn't great, and then ended up filing them pretty short to fix the shape. I'd go back if they still have the 20% discount, but not sure if I'd be willing to fork over the regular price. read more

I am so disappointed in the pedicure I received!! I came here because it showed 5 stars...clearly someone was lying When I first came In no one greeted me, I just stood there for a few minutes while everyone ignores me. Then I waited over 30 minutes just to get in a chair. That ok because I was a walk in and I felt it would be worth it...wrong! The spa lady started my water And it was cold she never turned on the jets nor put in any spa salts in the water just plane water. I let her know the water was cold so she turned it up to Luke warm at best. Everything was lazily done, she cut down my toe nails and almost cut my toe. When it came time for here to for her to massage my feet and legs she was dis it so it was more like. a rub down not worth talking about . It seemed to take forever and I noticed the rough skin was never removed from my feet probably because she scrubbed so lightly and briefly with the pumas that it was as if I rubbed it with a towel..,needless to say not with it, I was very disappointed and won't recommend anyone to go here, save your money and go somewhere else. read more
