First time at this location. Went in for a fill. Began service at 11:35 AM and ended at 1:00 PM so a bit longer than I'm used to yet was fine on the time as did enjoy outcome. Issue was nail tech was constantly distracted and would stop to look up and listen to co workers comments etc. this contributed to hour 1/2 fill. We didn't interact much due to language barrier but that was ok. Then came time to pay and was told $1.00 fee for using card. I asked if accepted Zelle. Was directed to LAN Tran who speaks English and she proceeded to give me her phone number for Zelle payment. Then she says $70.00. I asked "for a fill?" She repeated "70. Yes". So I paid it and left. Typically, we go to the nail salon beside target here at Davis just because they do an amazing job. But since we were in the area, we thought we would give a new salon a try. first of all the service was okay but the gel polish nail job was not. It was blotchy and they painted over our cuticles. Also, they cut your nails and skin too much. Too short and it burned. It was really expensive. The color selection isn't real, most of their polish is dried out. 60 dollars for the basic gel pedicure job. I would recommend the place beside the Target here at Davis because we got a whole deluxe package for 60 dollars. I am not local but this place was GREAT and I could easily make the trip. I had appointment for deluxe manicure and pedicure. It was $25 and $35. The pedicure chair was soft and offered more options. I enjoyed this. Pedicure was the usual pedicure steps PLUS 1. callous cream so additional scrub on those trouble areas 2. Lemon scrub with massage #1 3. Mint mask with massage #2 4. Lavender hot wax-massage #3 on calfs and then the feet!!!! 5. Then 5-10 massage #4 with hot oil 6. Nice & hot clean smelling wipe down This is one if not my best pedicure ever! It was well worth it. There was a high-school aged young man sitting at one of the manicurist desks, watching TV on a laptop and snacking. I had to ask my grandma technician for a new sponge-file. She showed me how she rubbed two old sponge-files together to make it clean. I said no, please a new one and she was agreeable. But why did I have to ask? I just had my first appointment at Natural Nails on F Street and it won't be my last. I had a basic mani-pedi and leg wax. First of all, I made an appointment ahead of time and was impressed to get a reminder from Cindy, the owner, which was much appreciated! Too many hair and nail salons can feel a little intimidating, with unsmiling and dismissive staff. It was so refreshing to be greeted with a big smile by Mary and later, Bebe. They were both so friendly and welcoming, which is a top priority for me in any business, and did an excellent job. I only needed a basic manicure, etc. so can't speak to how well they do more complicated things (gels, fillers, etc.). Got my first pedicure here and I am a happy camper! I was helped by Tammy who did a great job cleaning up my toes and on the paint. She was very attentive and thorough. My feet felt incredibly soft when I left and the calf, foot massage she gave me had me walking very slowly out of the door. My teen and I stopped in for full set acrylics (teen) and a fill (me) as walk ins while passing through town. Positives - Friendly staff, clean space, comfortable chairs and lovely decor. Unfortunately otherwise very dissapointed. Probably the worst acrylic fill I've ever had - poorly shaped, smoothed and paint uneven. Although the technician seemed to be focused and trying her best the results were poor. My teen fared slightly better - the tech that did their full set seemed a bit more adept: shaping was adequate but inconsistent and color application so-so. As walk-ins I didn't expect it to be super quick - we were seated right away but technician who worked on my teen didn't arrive until my tech was 45" into my set. Would have been nice to know an estimate on time or be told we'd need to wait for someone else to arrive to get the service. All told we were in the salon for almost 2 hours. To top that off pricepoint was about 1.5x our hometown salons (Sacramento). I am making an appointment this week to have nails fixed at our local salon. We did notice that other customers (7 others during the time we were there) recieved pedicures. And those customers seemed pleased with their service. I would consider coming back to try a pedicure at this location in the future but would not have acrylics or gel done here. read more

I went for a mani/pedi party before one of my bestie's bridal shower. $15 for a basic manicure that barely took 15 minutes, if that. The gal was a total sweetheart and very personable, but she was in a big hurry. My cuticles were still jagged and not cleaned up like they should have been. I don't have thrashed hands, but come on. Some of my nails weren't even filed evenly on more than a few fingers. There were 6 of us for a pre-booked 10am appointment. Another group came in for their 10:30am pedicure appointment, and we were all squeezed into the front nail area. Don't be greedy and overbook if your space can't accommodate your clients!!! Went here for the first time last week for a French manicure. Amy is very thorough and managed to make my nails, which are never very long, look gorgeous. She's so intuitive about the width of the white polish and really does a great job mirroring the shape of your nail beds, which makes the proportions more pleasing to the eye. It is a ok place for mani&pedi. Just tell them treat your finger gently. But I will stop doing my nails there since they made my finger bleeding and it kept bleeding until I pressed for a while. This is first time I saw my finger bleed like that while I was doing manicure. I am not sure if the nail clipper was disinfected clean enough since it cuts a lot.... Natural nails do a naturally amazing job! I did change 5 stars to 4 however because within a week of gel nails, one of my thumb edges ripped a bit. All I did was pick up my backpack ! However, This place is always a nice gem right in the midst of downtown Davis and they do an even job. Perfect outing if you're out studying at Temple, eating at Bistro33, or chillin before a movie. I've never had to wait longer than 20 minutes (even with the 6 spa chairs) and they do a thorough job. Searched for best gel manicures in Davis and this popped up, although not at the top. But I liked it because people mentioned that it didn't smell weird because they don't do acrylics, hence the name. I was greeted kindly and asked for a gel manicure and regular pedicure (the "spa pedicure"). The pedicure was $25 and the gel manicure was $35, but I think they gave me a discount because the manicurist and I talked about school and previous reviews say they have a student discount... not sure. Also, yes, there is a $1 charge for card payments. The pedicure was lovely, and included a hot stone massage. The lady doing my nails was thorough but not rushed, and checked to make sure I was comfortable (re: water temperature, feet being tickled by exfoliation, etc.). While the workers there did talk to each other, they weren't rude at all and made time to talk to you if you chimed in. I wanted my toes and nails to match, and 3 of the 4 of them spent time trying to find a gel polish that matched the one I had picked for my toes. The toe polish is immaculate, and I love it. The manicurist (different from the lady who did my toes) was just as thorough and yet gentle with the cuticle cutter, which I usually hate, but this was painless. She did an amazing job as well and my nails look fantastic. It took about 1.5 hrs but I really had a good time and relaxed. Will definitely come back! :) read more

Went in here after searching For other nail salons in Davis. All other places were busy or closed. Decided to give it a try. $25 charge for gel nails. $1 extra if paying with card. I previously had my natural nails coffin shaped. The lady didn't ask how I wanted them shaped and just proceeded to shaping them how she wanted to. My nails ended up being round at the top and are uneven. The lady also cut my cuticle a little too much and my finger started bleeding. She proceeded to put gel polish around the blood. She had me wash my hands and wiped them off with a lint towel. Mind you she didn't dust the lint off so now I can see pieces of lint on the nail making it look bumpy. Her and the other lady working didn't make much conversation with the customers. Would not recommend Update: two of my nails turned brownish on the bottom. I always seem to do red. I went w the lime green on my fingers and a darker green on my toes. I asked her to add design on my toes and she did a great job w a simple flower which I love having on my big toe. My daughter was taken care of by Tahna n Tanya. Went back again for another gel mani. Ended up getting Becky again to do my nails & to remove my old gel nail. She is pretty amazing. She made sure my nails were trimmed to the length that I wanted it to be and she was pretty careful when cutting my hangnails. Gel mani (with removal) was a total of $30, I think. Went here with my friend the other day and I am pleasantly surprised! My nails came out amazing (I got the gel manicure). The workers were pretty hospital too. The only complaint I have is that we had booked an appointment and I had to wait while my friend got her nails done because another customer came in and of course they want to make all the money possible. Came here with my best friend last night and got a gel french manicure ($30) and a pedicure with designs on the big toes ($25 + $5 for the design). The pedicure was amazing! I never went to a place that gave a hot stone massage with a pedicure and it felt amazing. Also the women were all really nice, giving you tons of compliments -- just what the post-final Davis student needs! Also they do not do acrylic nails because they only do natural processes. That's fine with me cause acrylic nails have damaged my nails in the past. I really don't have time to explain all the ways this place really missed the boat in terms of service and general customer service skills. But the real kicker was when my manicurist Lin, asked us to leave with flip flops on our feet in 60 degree weather outside. My friend and I had a good laugh about it on the way to the car, but I have never in all my days of going to the nail salon ever been asked to leave without my toes being completely dried first. I have come to this nail salon about 3-4 times while living in Davis! They are pretty good for the most part when it comes to nails but they are a little pricier than other places that I've found and not as friendly as other salons I've been to. Gel is 25$ and toe color change is $10 I came here and got a gel manicure but the lady didn't do the best job because it looked a bit dull right when she wiped it down with the alcohol. It also came off within a week when usually mine come off 3 weeks later I would still come here because this is one of the few places I know of that do nails in Davis. However maybe it's just by luck of who you get that does your nails, the first lady who did mine was really nice and the others were not so much. I usually love coming to nail salons because they're supposed to be relaxing but this is a salon id most likely come to and just be in and out rather than socializing with friends here. read more

Excellent service in a warm, relaxing, friendly atmosphere. This is definitely a salon that caters to the client's every need. They do great gel manicures, but no acrylic right now. The pedicure was fabulous and very extensive. I hear from a coworker (that I sent over) that the massages are wonderful as well. They stay open until 7p which is super helpful for us working folk. This place was so hard to find! I had to call them and make sure they even existed, but yes! They do exist, and they are next to "The Paint Chip" and diagonally acoss from Bistro 33. Unfortunately, they were pretty busy and understaffed when I showed up for my appointment so I had to wait a little longer than usual, but I didn't mind because I had a realllllly long day and was sleep deprived. So I appreciated the time to unwind. My pedicure ($20) was soo amazing. My pedicurist was an older vietnamese lady and took her time cutting my cuticles, and buffing nails. She totally pampered me to compensate for the time I had to wait. She was soooo good that I fell into a deep sleep while she was massaging me. I'm pretty sure I snored because: 1) I was in a really deep REM and even had a dream(!) 2) I woke up with mouth open, teetering on the edge of drool I probably even talked in my sleep while I was there. Hehe, but luckily she didn't make a big deal out of it. She just asked me if I've had a long week and if I felt refreshed from my nap. I was in 7th heaven; I responded with a sleep-drunk smile and half-opened eyes. The downside to me falling asleep? Before I knocked out, I handed her two polishes, a pink base coat and a glitter top coat. I forgot to show her what I wanted because although I wanted to dabble with glitter, I only wanted to flirt with it, not go to town with it. I woke up to the most bedazzled pink toes I've ever seen in my life. I was too relaxed from my spa experience to even freak out. I just chuckled (maybe cackled) on the inside. I bought a package deal (1 hours massage + facial + mani/pedi) for $90 (techinically $91 because it's $1 to use a credit card, but meh). Overall, quite the deal. I absolutely loved 3 of the 4 services! The mani/pedi was great, didn't chip at all. A month later my pedi still looks nice and I wore the mani until my nails grew out enough that it looked silly so I took it off, but still no chips. They also had a good selection of colors (finally found the blue I had been looking for at other salons). They didn't hurt me during either procedure (i'm a wuss and apparently bleed easily during mani/pedis... no such problem here). The massage chairs are quite nice. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to manis, and the woman did a very good job of making it even and cleaning everything up at the end. The massage was really nice. I like Swedish, stress relieving/relaxing massages and that's exactly what I got. She didn't ask me anything before the massage, so if you wanted something different, you'd have to speak up. Might not recommend if you want more of the sports/deep tissue style, but for gentle me this was perfect. My only qualm is that it was supposed to be an hour massage and it was actually 50 minutes (I looked at the clock in the room at start/stop). I won't dicker over 10 min, but that was worth 1/2 star for me. The facial was good, but not super amazing. I have only had 1 other facial ever in my life, so maybe I'm not the best judge (i.e. take this with a grain of salt). I have acne rosacea, which means my skin is dry/sensitive (I take medication so I don't break out, but still have to deal with dry/sensitive skin). She didn't ask me anything about my skin type before doing starting, so I think I just got the generic run of the mill facial. That being said, my skin feels nice, I didn't break out or anything. I just would have like it to have been tailored in someway to my skin type/needs. So another -1/2 star. Over all, I felt like all the services were worth the price (and this comes from someone who usually relies on Groupons to get these sorts of services). read more
