Went to this business at 9:30am when they open. The person who was supposed to open was 15 min late. Once I spoke to someone he said that they were busy working on vehicles until 2pm so I called them at 2 and he said they couldn't see it till tomorrow morning and to come back at 9:30am. I asked if I could make an appointment and he said they are on a first come first serve basis, which basically means I would have to hope they aren't busy when I come in the next day. Okay, so I went to best buy and they charged twice for the same alarm system that I got at g sound. They installed it within 2 hours, so I was in n out, unlike some other shops who took almost 6 hours. They were cool, they kinda got a little too comfortable with their customers during the wait, but nevertheless they answered all my concerns with kindness and they demonstrated how to operate the system without a grunt. Didn't think I would ever go back here... But being local and them offering me a ride home and the van I just purchased was already in bad shape, I figure what's the worst they can do wrong? Took my GMC Savanna here, this van is in really bad shape, the blinkers, interior lighting, speedodometer all don't work. I'm installing a car computer and a system. Spoke directly with Jessie as I had to address my concerns coming back here. To be honest all businesses have their ups and downs, when he told me the guy who helped me last time got fired it helped assure me things would be different. So basically installing a custom head unit, car computer and a system which I purchased on Amazon. Jessie told me they can do more for me, like getting my signals working instead of taking it to the dealership. I'm like yea! So now they are doing all that including a backup camera. They had it for 1 day all done! I made a second trip to have them put an alarm as it would be cheaper then fixing the locks of the van as they didn't really open from the outside. So they instated an alarm with automatic locks... Done and Done. Now here is what I feel could have been done better. Personally yea my van is trashed but I didn't like how they left their striped wires, connectors, wire ties in the van. I nab for anybody it really isn't a big deal at all but perhaps they should just run a vacuum after installing. It's a extended cargo van, and I ended up vacuuming it myself. However this is not the first shop I've been to that does this. So it really is not a big deal. Thanks I'm sure I'll be back for more. Btw the guy that left the review of his alarm having to be readjusted. It's an alarm. That's normal for it to go off like that. Some choppers are that loud, it's the equivalent of someone actuary banging on your window (at least to your alarm). Your alarm goes off to deter theft. Now if I walk up to your window and actuary crack it with a brick it's probably not going to go off. Also this is California... We have laws, if the installer has to take his lunch it's because the law says so not because he physically could care less about making you wait. This is why people make appointments. The installer isn't a robot he's a person. read more

I went to get some wires installed for an amplifier (power, ground, aux and remote) and long story short I thought these guys where pros? I can install anything my self but since I wasn't very familiar with my new truck I let "pros" do it. Turns out the jobs is mediocre. First they just threw in the fuse box all loose, second the way they got through the fire wall was a complete joke, the way they ran the wires and the location is very beginner status. Stopped at G sound today to get a system for my 2011 Nissan Maxima... Great customer service. I Let the sales guys know what I was looking for and my price point and he pointed me to the direction of what I was looking for! I informed the guys that I lost my key fob remote in my car somewhere and I couldn't find it... They found the key fob for me and saved me $180 in not having to replace the key. Pretty good prices and fast service, the atmosphere is yet to be desired but I would come here again. Better to drop off your car and go do something else because you do not want to hang around here especially if you have children with you. Language is rated "R" but as an adult who came here by myself it was just banter between guys, some of it actually hilarious. Wow it was hard to believe we were talking bout the same G Sound, I actually had to double check the map. I saw a lot more negative reviews than I had thought I would.... Anyways I've been going to these guys ever since I could drive ( about ten years) they've done every system for all my rides and my rides have had at least 3 different systems in each of them, and not because of any error but because I always wanted more and more bass. Treat them right and make them your number one and they'll do the same!! I walked into G Sound and was greeted by a smiling young man who I later learned was Jr. He asked me what he could help me with. I told him I I found G Sound on Yelp, and the reviews were rather confusing. Either excellent or poor no inbetween. Because we live only 2 miles from them I was willing to give them a chance, They were very professional along with being very helpful & friendly. They had my new radio dc player in the car within the hour. I highly recommend them. And did I mention I am no spring chicken. I'm 70. I went a few months ago to G Sound to have an amp and DVD head unit installed. The selection is ok considering the place is small and the prices are decent which is why I gave this place two stars instead of one. I had a few disappointments during my business. The first is the gentleman who runs the place tried the I'm Cool card way too much. Yes you own a stereo shop and I'm happy for you but you may want to make customers feel a little more comfortable. Everytime i called to check on my install which took longer than it should, the owner had an attitude. Guess he forgets who pays his bills? This place has lots of loud vulgar people so I wouldn't recommend taking family here. My second gripe was installation. I was offered the cheap half assed installation or the more expensive deluxe installation. In my opinion in 2012 establishments such as this should offer either a free install or at least a professional one. My third and final gripe was the whole basis of my purchase was it must work with my iPod. After the install was finished, I plugged my iPod in and the it didn't work. And there was the owner with the cable I needed but here came another 20 bucks. To this day the Bluetooth still works like crap. read more

In need of a CD deck installation, I came here for the sole reason that it was the closest sound shop to my house. Price-wise, they weren't bad; $50 (I already had the CD deck itself, but not the wiring harness and frame, which are usually around $20 together, so it would've been around $30.) as opposed to $120 at Best Buy. As for the installation, it took a while (around 45 min.), and the CD deck felt a bit loose, but all in all, it still works fine and looks nice on my dash. Well, that's literally it for the positives. As for the cons, the customer service was complete shite; they were absolutely unwelcoming. There were about 8 dudes at the front desk, each not doing a damn thing but watching TV and beginning each sentence with "bro." When I got there, one of 'em lazily walked over and asked what I needed, without any sort of greeting. Then another even more lazily walked over, snatched my keys, and drove my car to the back. After, they just walked away without saying anything and left me there standing like an idiot. During my wait, they were just being obnoxious; laughing at the the TV, loudly cursing and competitively boasting about their sexual escapades, and every time someone called they would answer with a steroid-induced, annoyed "G-SOUND" and proceeded to rush the conversation with a tone of irritation throughout, condescendingly scoffing at the caller's inferior knowledge of car stereo installation; this also applied to walk-in customers. When they were done, they pulled my car up to the front, scribbled on the receipt, and sent me off with an "alright then, man", which was literally the nicest thing they had said. Though mildly satisfied with the work, I was a bit disappointed to see that they had thrown out the stock head unit and the box for my new CD deck, which included the remote and the manual. I understand that generally there's no need for them, but how the hell do they know that I didn't have any use for them? So overall, price and technical service wasn't terrible, but the levels of douchebagery and bad customer service could use some lessening. I don't have any sort of vendetta against them and since I usually try to only post fairly positive reviews on Yelp, I tried to let it slide (this was all 2 months ago). But my friend recently had a similar experience, so I gave it a 2nd thought and posted this. If you're reading, I'm not trying to hurt your business and I'm not trying to sound entitled, but creating a more welcoming atmosphere could go a long way. read more

STAY AWAY! I'm not surprised to see other similar reviews for G Sound. When I dropped off my truck to have an alarm system (with auto start) and head unit installed they damaged my dash and ignition wiring. On top of that they installed a lower end head unit than what I paid for and didn't say anything about it until I called them on it. A couple months later The keyless entry system quit working and when I went back in they refused to even look at it. Oh and by the way they own House of Sound across the street too so I wouldn't recommend them as an alternative. read more
