Okay so honestly when I pulled up the owner that helped me at desk is super friendly they all. And I'm not gonna lie I brought my car in some bad condition to them like I'm sure it was already at the end so there wasn't much to save it from. But if imma be truthfully I wouldn't dare bring my car back here again or any car as yes there friendly and not pricey but it's just not a trustworthy mechanic there isn't too much communication especially when they test drive ur car usually a mechanic will drive it around the block but turns out they take ur car alone so far off towards bear creek all the way around I don't really see why u have to drive it all the way through that far seems kinda sketchy. Everyone from autozone constantly talked so highly of the place so I said ok let's trust it but I've also seen some horrible things about it now. read more

Took my vehicle to have the AC serviced. Original estimate was $110 dollars. When I picked up my vehicle it had ballooned to $140. A few months later my AC went out again. This time I dished out $110 to be informed of what was malfunctioning in my vehicle. Why wasn't it diagnosed the first time? For parts and repairs for my AC they wanted over $1,600. I asked around town and found a place that did it for $600. I bought the parts at Rock Auto.com for less than $175. Please take all the reviews seriously and notice how they are all 1 stars. Find another shop like the one behind AM PM on 13 at near Home Depot. read more

Run by two brothers. Had a thermostat changed here over a week ago. One brother quoted me a price, then the other wanted to charge higher. When I showed up, the first brother was back and so was the first price. Odd. Then my "check engine light" went on again after a few days so I went back. After two days in the shop (no car for me) all they did was change a radiator over flow tank and check another computer code that suggests a vacuum leak. I was quoted $150 (parts) + $50 = $200 for the overflow tank. I found out later that you can buy one online for $70 and it is real easy to put on as it is right up front. Anyway, when I showed up they charged me $350 for that (added another $50 and just said he underestimated) and the rest to check on what the computer said for the check engine light. Get it, they didn't fix what was wrong, just figured it out. On top of even that, one other problem I wanted fixed was a squeaky fan belt, and it still squeaks so they probably didn't even look at it. I have had other cars worked on by these guys, but never again. They need to tell people what the work will cost and get approval. Quit doing the bate and switch: one brother says one thing, but when you show up the other is there and says something different. read more

Hands down the best auto shop I have ever encountered! The employees and owners are super respectful, compassionate, understanding, honest, fair, hardworking,and have great attention to detail. I've never had a problem with the work done by g street auto. I wouldn't suggest any other shop! I took my car here a couple weeks ago because my car had a oil leak. They did fix my oil leak when I had it checked up the first time. But after a week and a half, on 5/19/20 I called G Street Auto Care to have them check on my car again because my car was flashing the oil check engine light (my oil check engine light had never flashed before until I took to have my car checked here the first time). I bought the car in around 1:30 PM and around 3:15 PM they called me and told me that my car was shaking really bad and it was making loud rattling noises. They had my car at the intersection of Kibby Road and South Bear Creek. They asked me if they should call roadside assistance or if I should call. Of course, I called because my insurance would cover roadside assistance and I did not want to fork out money to have them tow my car back to their shop. I did not appreciate how they took my car out there and yet did not have the decency to call roadside assistance and bring my car back to the shop. I waited at least 45 mins-1 hour for roadside assistance. It was not cool that they drove it so far and yet I was the one who had to call and wait for roadside assistance. Yes, my car is broken and does not work anymore. I do not recommend going here and would rather you go somewhere else because I don't want what happened to me to occur for anyone else. read more

I took my car to G Street Automotive because I thought I had a blown spark plug. I spoke with Tony who gave me a quote of $250 for the repair. I asked them to change the spark plugs while they were at it. They diagnosed that I had a defective coil on cylinder 2. This repair can be done much more easily than a repair for a blown plug. Each spark plug has a coil that has to be removed to change the spark plugs. They charged me $180 labor for the spark plug repair. They then charged me $120 to change the spark plugs. On top of that, they charged me $102 for one coil. I can find 4 coils on line for $64. The local auto supply stores will sell you 4 top of the line coils for around $100. I don't begrudge them making a profit on the sale of parts but 400% is way over the top. They also charged me $84 for spark plugs that would have cost around $20 from a local parts store. This experience makes me doubt their integrity. Rather than use these guys, I believe you would be better served to throw $200 in the gutter next to a homeless camp. read more

I would give this place a negative 10 stars if I could. Went to get an oil leak diagnosed and was told that the repair would cost $866 for an oil cooling housing replacement. Mind you that the part only cost about $95. Took it to another shop and was told only the gasket was leaking and the repair would only cost $125 don't come to this place they are a bunch of con artist. read more

I was passing through Merced to points north when my car's air conditioner started acting like a hair dryer. In the August heat of the Central Valley, that's absolutely no fun whatsoever. I found G Street Auto with a quick search and took a chance. It was well worth it. A little over an hour later, my car's A/C was once again acting like A/C with what I thought was a reasonable price. The guys were very nice. If I'm ever in the area again and need auto care, I'd stop at G Street Auto again in a heartbeat. read more

The only reason I dealt with this people is because my air conditioner in my car stopped blowing cold air and it was convenient for me and Just a note, this is the second time I've taken my car to them and I remember feeling like they were a RIP-OFF then. Tony called me at 430 to inform me that my total would be $150 (for a relay) $87 to diagnose the problems when most place are free and if not, they apply the Diagnostic fee to the cost of repair. Just being curious, I looked at pep Boys website and seen that they offer a free Air Condoning Diagnostic and all of their other services vary from $39 to $139. G Street auto care is a complete SCAM and a RIP-OFF. I will never go here again in my lifetime!!!! I don't care if I couldn't start my car and had to walk!! read more

Very poor customer service! Took my car 10 days to be fixed for a job that only took a few hours. I incurred extra rental car fees, and was charged over $400 for a simple job. But my complaint was customer service. No status updates. We constantly had to call. We were strung along all because they ordered wrong part, wrong part delivered and then was told that company couldn't provide the part at all. And this was after 8 days!!! I finally had to get firm with them and basically demand my car be fixed! They did not offer any alternative or offer any kind of adjustment for their mistake. Then Tony insulted my husban about his understand of the estimate and final bill. He was rude, showed no empathy, and seemed annoyed with us!! I spoke my concern and was ignored. I highly recommend this shop. Tony was very attentive to my needs. He took the time to explain everything to me and was very knowledgeable. He also was able to squeeze looking into my car on a last minute basis. I feel he was also honest. He only charged me for one half an hours work because that is all the time it took, Most places would have charged the whole hour. They also came to pick me up from my home when my car was ready.Being a woman, it is hard to find a shop I feel comfortable going to because many try to rip you off, and/or they get irritated when you ask them to explain everything to you. read more
