I respect that running a small business restaurant is lots of work and the service provided was polite and adequate. Menu was your typical Quebec Stir fry options with chicken, shrimp or seafood with various sauces, curry or sauté. I asked what he had which was spicy and it was mentioned a Thai soup and the Bangkok chicken. So I went with this. The menu is table d'hôte style which comes with soup, salad (plus two delicious spring rolls) main meal with rice and vegetables and dessert and coffee. Thai soup was okay, nothing wow spicy or memorable but decent. It did have a tart sour taste and was mildly spice inspired. My main chicken meal was okay, nothing wow amazing but came in a sweet spicy sauce with a good serving of vegetables. Really for the price it's excellent value. Serving size of the table d'hôte is huge. Price is totally worth it for what you get! I declined the dessert as I was wanting to get back on the road. My meal was $13.15 (including tax and 15% tip). Super value! I spoke with the owner and he is Vietnamese. I asked him why not more authentic Vietnamese dishes and he mentioned his clientele likes his cooking. This is what I usually here when asking the question in Quebec. His friendliness and their portion size is the reason I bump up to 3.5 stars. I'd come back to try something else and because the portion size for price is really good keeping lower expectations.

They are right off of the 20 just outside Quebec City and right down the street from our hotel. Inside the place was immaculate, which is no small feat with the amount of people they were serving. As for the food it was some of the best chicken I have ever had. I went simple with the Quarter Chicken Breast Meal. It comes with their amazing coleslaw, fries, a bun and one of the biggest chicken breasts I've ever seen. Amanda ordered a poutine and some chicken skewers. She said they were both really good. When it comes to service the staff at St-Hubert were top notch. Even though they were super busy we never had to wait for a table and everything came out really quick. Our waiters were awesome both in English and French (Amanda and her aunt chose to practice their French while in Quebec) and they took really good care of us. My husband and I were seated in an area away from others while there were empty tables in the sections where other diners were. But we thought np, it's quieter. Well, we were naive. Other than taking our order and bringing over our food, no one stopped by our table. Actually we couldn't even see any waiter nearby. We were still ok: they were short staffed and busy. Then when we had to go yet no staff in sight, I went around the restaurant and found the waitress asking for check. Came back to our table. 5-10 minutes later, no one came over. That waitress didn't even acknowledge us when passed by. I finally realized sth was off. I got up again, went over asking for the check, came back at our table. What happened next was beyond my civilized imagination. A waitress came over threw our bill on the table, yes, threw, not exaggerating, then walked away, gone. I needed to pay by credit card, but again no staff around. I went to the cashier station, no one there, either, so I waved over that waitress. When she came over, I asked if she indeed just threw the bill at us. She took the bill, she threw it onto the workstation, and started mumbling in French. I: no, you didn't. She: don't speak, don't understand English, then mumbling French .... Another family walked by and saw what happened at the cashier station. When we came out of the restaurant, they were at the door and gave us sympathetic smiles and greeted us good bye / good night. Emm, I've been to France, never run into any French people refusing to communicate in English‍. Still, seriously, if feeling strongly about speaking French, not welcoming English speakers, please just say so from the get-go, don't sit us down at all. The radish salad was beautiful and delicious. My wife had the mushroom risotto- while it was a bit too earthy for my taste she loved it. Delicious, rich, and creamy with a lobster claw the size of my thumb. This was a soup to make a Maritimer pine for home. The wonton soup asserts the Missus, had the best and most fragrant broth she'd ever tasted. High praise indeed! The confit was presented with a mountain of fresh salad greens and hillocks of eye-poppingly yummy potato salad. The duck's skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was melt in your mouth delicious. I thought for sure that this was Brome Lake duck, but the owner informed me that his duck was sourced from Marieville, thus allowing him to charge $9.00 LESS per plate. The restaurant is one of a small regional chain yet it seems family run and optimized to serve the local neighbourhood. It has local charm with tables for 4 and each with it's own pedestal for a Pizza pan. The menu itself features pizza, sandwiches, burgers & chicken fingers, pasta, and souvlaki. Two of us ordered a 10-inch "Garnivore" pizza, it's pretty much a 'meat lovers' special with pepperoni, chicken, bacon, and smoked meat. The crust seemed fluffy and crisp and the pizza did not survive the encounter. My spouse chose Chicken Fingers and found it to be more than sufficient. For myself it was a "Club 4 étages" club sandwich, it arrived with mayo and cole slaw on the side as well as a pile of french fries and a savoury gravy (reminiscent of St. Hubert or Swiss Chalet sauce). The portion size was more than adequate. Ordering is done at the counter and clients can then go find their own table. The kitchen took just a tad longer than I expected but everything was hot and well prepared. It was the type of comfort meal we needed before heading off to a later game. Overall the food was good, the service friendly, and the experience comfortable.
