It was intense, a lot of physical stuff. I'm in my 50's and ( I thought) in pretty good shape, but it was still a very good workout. I learned quite a few things about self defense tactics and security awareness in general. The large class was full of really great supportive women and the instructors and their assistants were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Despite it being a large class there were a good number of instuctors so the student to instructor ratio was fine. If I had a question there was always someone right there to answer it. One day I was going to Costco nearby so I decided to go to this location. When I checked on Yelp, it didn't have any ratings. I drove there and the gym had large windows facing the street and the two sides of the parking lot. I couldn't see any people inside, or the lights on and the door had one of those realtor key lock box. My first impression was that it wasn't open yet or that they have closed. I drove around the property again and I finally saw a person inside, so I parked and went in. When I walked in there was a gentleman inside the office and I asked him for the WiFi password. He pointed to a sheet of paper and asked me to first read the gym's rules. I did and I told him that they were the same as my home base AF. I asked when did they open. He said that in February of this year. The place is small, but everything looks brand new, with the newest equipment of any AF that I have visited. I retired from the hospitality industry so I am very picky in sanitation and looks of places that I visit. The place is pristine! My only negative observation is that they have paper towels and a spray bottle without a label as a cleaner. I prefer gyms that have antibacterial gym wipes as some of the clubs have. Otherwise, the gym is excellent and I wish the owners great success.

What I love about this place is the one on one help each child gets during the lesson. Master Jim really lights up while working with the kids. You can tell he loves teaching Taekwondo. They learn discipline and respect, counting and other words in Korean. The lessons also help with focus and concentration. Class here is the highlight of my little man's week. Every morning he asks if today is a Taekwondo day. I wasn't sure how he would do with three days a week, but he absolutely loves it. I am watching my little unsure shy guy come out of his shell. He memorized the rules of Taekwondo after his second day and is just so eager to keep or practicing and learning more.

If he would have "lost a challenge" 2 months ago, he would have had a major meltdown. On Friday, he dropped and did 5 push-ups and then sat straight up to wait his turn for the next challenge.

Instead of just showing you a DVD and passing you along, they put you through drills and scenarios to get you to gain the instincts of a good security guard. At first, I have to admit that it felt like they were just trying to make you feel stupid and think you can't do anything right, but at the end of the day, you realize what they're really trying to do is make you understand just how important it is to analyze every situation you're in and be mindful that your actions have consequences.
