Well, my last visit ( previous review) was more or less a bandaid. I was told that I would need to…read moreget in asap for the extraction with sedation. Due to a chronic condition I have needed sedation. So the recommendation wasn't news to me. But, being " alone" it's a very difficult thing to find someone who can drive me, wait throughout the procedure, and then get me back home. I called on a Monday morning & was put on a wait list. During that time I could feel the juice from the IV antibiotic treatment wearing off and " Chicken" me was terrified of the pain I'd experienced returning. I ended up calling toward the end of the week and asking to speak directly with the Dr. my appointment was with - who I'd seen before, Dr. Lori Jurgens. I explained to her what was happening. She listened and asked that I stay on hold for a moment. Well, I don't think it was 2 minutes before she got back to me to come in to their Peabody office the next morning- which was a Saturday early (8;00 am) and they would do the procedure! I couldn't thank her enough & said I'd definitely be there. Saturday morning: my ride came in with me. We waited maybe 5 minutes if that. Everything was all set. The receptionist had everything ready. I went into the room where they started my IV for sedation. The whole thing must have taken just a few minutes because when I was in the area where you go afterwards, I looked at my phone.. maybe 15 minutes went by in all? I wasn't in any pain. The staff waited with me while I adjusted after the sedation. I got up to leave & all was great. I was given post surgery instructions that were not hard to follow. Pain was minimum & the healing took the usual amount of time. It's been a week & I'm doing just fine. I can't thank Dr Jurgens & all the staff enough for their kindness!

Even the automated text they send that says "sorry to have missed your call. Please text this number." Did not respond. I have called at different hours so they can't possibly be at lunch every time. YES!!! I had a great day thanks to Dr. Hornung at Merrimack Valley Oral Surgeons. My impression of…read moreDr. Hornung, who I met for the first time today, he is one of the uppermost skilled medical professional I have experienced as far as I can remember. He explained to me my options in a very clear precise way without any medical jargon. As result of that, his explanation helped me make the best possible decision about my oral needs and my finance as it relates to the excellent service and care he provided today. The only downside, my procedure started 20 minutes late despite arriving more than 30 minutes early which meant I should have deducted one star from his awesome service. So why did I still rate Dr. Hornung at Merrimack Valley Oral Surgeons with 5 stars? It is because he called me personally over the phone that same evening, a personal call, to see how I was doing. I was like, wow! That has never ever happened to me in my entire life where the doctor calls you back to check on you to see how you are doing. BOOM! 5 stars. The procedure was done before I realized it was ever even started. I was very comfortable during the entire procedure. The meds he prescribed were ready for pick up at my local pharmacy when I arrived home. I took the meds he prescribed as recommended. I feel nearly pain free and relaxed. I strongly recommend Dr. Hornung at Merrimack Valley Oral Surgeons! Like I said earlier, it was great day!

Recently, I was back in Boston for a few days for a friend's wedding in which I was a groomsman. The Friday night before the wedding, I chipped my front tooth while taking a drink from a glass bottle. I called the office and left a message on the answering machine explaining the situation. I told them it was an emergency!! Dr. Dehni called me back right away. He said to come in early the next morning before the wedding and he'll fix it right up. I was there the next morning and he did exactly that!! I felt very inclined to share this story as I am truly grateful. Made it to the wedding smiling.

I learned first-hand what apico means --twice!…read more After several novacaines, I endured forty-five minutes of cutting my gums, drilling, vibrations, picking-and-poking, pulling-and-tugging, and sewing me up on each of two teeth. As I write this review, it sounds frightening, even to me. But then what explains why I fell asleep during the second procedure? It's simple -- Dr Timothy Gabe, and his friendly and compassionate, professional and competent team worked seamlessly together to make sure that I was always comfortable. From my first visit to my last, it has been an extraordinarily rewarding experience. I hope no one else needs an apico, but if you do, I enthusiastically recommend Dr Gabe to you.

My first visit with Dr. Gabe went well. I had gotten crowns on 2 teeth and was still having pain…read more I was referred to Dr. Gabe by the dentist who did my crowns. Dr. Gabe, told me it was a muscle spasm. We agreed to meet for a second time to see how the tooth was feeling. Unfortunately, my second appointment do not go so well. I was left in the waiting area for 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I finally went to the desk to ask what was happening and expressed my displeasure, I wasn't rude, I was not disrespectful, I didn't raise my voice. I was disappointed and frustrated. I'm sure the frustration came across in my tone but absolutely not disrespectful. There is no way I'm letting this be put on me or turned around. If I was kept in the loop-a simple we are sorry but Dr. Gabe had an emergency or what ever the situation, I feel like that would have made all the difference. I could have made a decision earlier, to stay or reschedule-had I been informed on what was going on. Maybe the office can take a look at why this whole situation happened. I'm not retired, I do not have a lot of leisure time. When I go for an appointment I have to take time off from work-I do not get paid for that- and I need to get back to do my work as soon as I possible can. By the time I left the office it was just before 4:00(45 minutes). To have a 3:15 Appointment and sit in the waiting area until 3:53 is a long time without an update. While waiting, I had a conversation with a person in the waiting area. That person had an appointment with Dr. Gabe and his appointment was the same time as mine-3:15. When they called him before me, I thought this is not good.. At that time it was about 3:30ish. In addition, I'm not sure if Dr. Gabe is aware, I had called the office the day of the appointment-a couple hours before my appointment, to ask if I could change the appointment. I was told they change it but I would be charged, that was a bit confusing since I already paid and this was a a quick follow-up maybe that's why two people were scheduled at 3:15 - my reply was oh no I'll be there, interesting.. This also played into my frustration. After all this: I had a new appointment scheduled because of the situation mentioned above-I received a phone call a couple of days before that appointment from Dr. Gabe's office-I was told Dr. Gabe cancelled my appointment, he said the pain was a muscle spasm-without seeing me. I told the person, who called me to cancel my appointment, that this appointment was a follow up and my tooth was hurting. I never heard back. (Doesn't a dentist take an oath) I was surprised I didn't hear back-In the meantime, I went to an appointment with the Dr. who referred me to Dr. Gabe I was told that Dr. Gabe did not call me back because there was an incident?? What? What incident? What does that mean? To hear that was upsetting to say the least.. I called Dr. Gabe to see what was going on, to ask about my hurting tooth and the so called "incident." He never called me back. I find that to be unprofessional and discourteous. Dr. Gabe, could have called me to discuss whatever this is about. Instead, it was discussed with someone other than myself and my appointment was cancelled, my calls were not returned, after I had paid for a service, it does not feel good to be shut down like this. The deflection and arrogance is unbelievable.. I do not usually do reviews however, I think it was important to put this out there. I'm almost certain, if I showed up for an appointment 40 plus late I wouldn't have been seen and I would have been charged for the appointment. We as patients need to speak up in situations like this. When its the other way around, the practice speaks up. Dentist work hard and I appreciate that. Patients work hard and pay for the expensive prices for dentist services.
