NOT dog friendly if you bring your dog. We brought our 9 year old golden retriever tonight and as soon as we were approaching the garage doors he was immediately charged by the chocolate lab. Our dog is extremely docile, gets along with all dogs, and did nothing to provoke the incident. He yelped and ended up with a minor nip as I broke up the interaction. Our dog was yelping quite a bit to the point the other patrons were aware. The owner or bartender (whoever approached us) asked "was there a bite?" And said she would put the "crotchety" dog away. We immediately left. This is absolutely unacceptable for a property to advertise as "dog friendly" if guests are encouraged to bring their dogs, they should be able to safely exit their vehicles and enter the property with their large dog, without being attacked by a dog on the property. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this location with anyone traveling with a pet. This seems to be an issue if you read other reviews as well. read more

While the wine was good and service was nice, the visit was disrupted by the owners dog viciously attacking a visiting dog who was in a leash. We witnessed the dogs smell each other and then without provocation, one of the 4 owners dogs that were wandering freely at the winery, grabbed and bit the visiting dog in the neck, drawing blood. The visitor had to kick the owners dog to get him to release their dog. There was blood on the ground. The owner said "well that happens." Offered no apology. They have multiple signs posted warning visitors of their free roaming dogs. However, why in gods name they have a known vicious dog that is roaming freely when visitors bring their dogs. Do NOT bring your dog here. We would not return. read more

Cutest winery that my boyfriend and I stumbled upon! Great snack options. With the spicy feta dip we were able to choose if we wanted crackers or veggies to go with. They also have more than just wine for those who prefer cider or beer. Perfect spot to be if you love dogs!! They will come up to your table especially if you have food from the bar :) There is indoor and outdoor seating. Their merch is super cute, I wish I would've gotten a picture to include in my review. Oh man. I read so many mixed reviews and I am not sure why so many people like this place. There were 7 of us and none of us liked any of them. We left most of our cider samples on the table. The setting is cute, the dogs are adorable, but that's not why you stop. What a bummer. read more

We have stopped here a couple times now when in the Petosky area. They have 4 adorable doggies who like to roam and visit. They have indoor and outdoor spaces. We went to the 4 Labs Brewing part of the farm. It was a really cool little building. Really well done. It was misting outside but not too cold. They had the garage door open. We enjoyed the beer, the atmosphere, and we even got to meet one of the labs. She was pretty wet, but we still gave her our love. read more

This was one of our most favorite stops on our brewery tour. We loved it!!!! Everything about Gabriel Farms is adorable and they have fantastic beers and wine. We pulled up and were in awe of the property, it's absolutely beautiful. Getting out of the car, we were greeted by the most adorable dogs. You should have seen the smiles on our faces!!!! We love our furry friends. The dogs escorted us up the walkway to a huge building. We sat at the bar and grabbed our tagabrews. It was fun learning about the brewery. We decided to take our beers outside and enjoy the view from the rolling hills and the best part, we had a four legged companion who decided to sit with us the entire time. Vibes were immaculate, wine was terrible. Everything very acidic, everything pretty much tasted the same, from the whites to the rose to the ciders. The ciders definitely are better than the wine. When I asked the employee helping me to describe one of their wines to me she said "it's dry" and I asked if she could describe it anymore and she said "no." Lol. It is certainly a LOVELY venue. We thought the staff were sweet and loved how the dogs just roam around. Though we struggled to finish any of our drinks, we did enjoy our time there simply for the view and the thoughtful design of the space. read more

Horrible woman and we were told she is the owner. She should sell to someone who knows how to treat paying customers with kindness. I will never go back. We enjoyed our visit on a chilly day in October. We were welcomed by the "welcoming committee", a few of the dogs that live at the farm. The dogs were well behaved and led us into the new tasting room. I tried the Goldie Girl but found it not dry enough for me. My husband tried the Rose, which he approved of. Many of the wines were named after the farms' dogs. Had we been in more of a drinking mood, I would have liked to try the ciders. We ordered a large warm pretzel to go with the wine. We'll save that for next time. the young lady manning the bar was delightful and knowledgable about the wines and the area. This would be an ideal spot for a wedding. read more

This is a newer winery that we visited on our last trip to Petoskey. After we parked, and after I jumped out of the car, I turned around to reach for my mask (social distancing was in play at the time of our visit) and I just about tripped over a dog that had come to greet me. I knew that there were dogs on the premises, because of the reviews that I had read, but it still startled me to be greeted in such a way. I like dogs though, so it really didn't bother me, which is a good thing because there were a few of them inside the winery as well. This place was laid out well with high top tables, that would seat four, and with lower tables that would seat more. They seemed to be placed at a distance that promoted good social distancing and everyone was wearing the required masks. This was a different experience than it might have been if social distancing were not in play. There were no actual "tastings" and we had to buy either a flight or a glass and take it to our table. My son got a flight of ciders, none of which he liked, and my husband got a flight of beer, which he said was just okay. There was only one sweet wine, so I got a glass rather than a flight. It was okay. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic (I'm assuming) the servers didn't appear to be overly friendly, as they just pored the drinks and didn't have much time to engage. I doubt that we will be back, there are too many other wineries in the area that serve the kinds of wines that we prefer. read more

Stopped into this winery to sample and take in the charming atmosphere. We came in October and I understand this is a busy time of year, but the service was terrible! The girl that waited on us, was annoyed and very short with us! They shorted me an appetizer and literally was waiting 20 minutes standing there! No one acknowledged the fact, asked me if I needed help-nothing just standing there! Meanwhile the rest of my party is already seated and sampling their wine selections!! Even if I liked any of their wines, I wouldn't have bought a bottle. I'm sorry, but there is something called common courtesy. I was kind and courteous-I just expect to be treated the same way. We loved all of the beers we tried: Double IPA (which had just been added today), IPA, Bourbon Barrel Stout and a Kolsch (I didn't know I liked Kolsch!). The bar area was beautifully decorated. Christy is the most unprofessional woman I have ever had dealings with. She was a nightmare from the beginning. We had our daughters wedding 4 months ago and besides several people falling off an unmarked step on the deck...myself being one, you had to dodge the dog crap all over her yard. My husband did not make it. But then you have this crazy lady hovering The Whole time. She broke our contract and threatened our DJ if he playing another song...at 9:45 even though our contract said we can play until 10:00. My new son-in-law is Mexican and obviously so is his parents, aunts and uncles-- she called them 'those people' and pulled several of our guests aside to talk about 'those people' and how unorganized our wedding was. Good luck getting your security deposit back from her. She deducted money for having to pick up a total of 3 flowers, a bean bag, a eucalyptus stem..(single stem) 5 zip tie, about 10 small strands of twine and a receipt. When asked if she would offset the cost of picking up those few items for the fact that our ushers were picking up poop she emphatically said no!! She got mad at us because we dumped ice on the grass! I will tell everyone I can to stay as far away from this venue as I possible can. Our daughters wedding day was beautiful despite this horrible woman and miserable experience we had at your barn. She is so in love with her barn that she really should not offer it up as a business. Worst business in Petoskey!! I will never refer this horrible woman. read more
