After a hot afternoon of hiking, a cool beer sounded like a plan. It was late on a Sunday afternoon and the small taproom was about half full, with the outdoor seating areas about the same. We got samples of the 2 IPAs on tap and settled on Duncan Bay IPA, a refreshing American IPA with fairly restrained hops. Lots of beers on the menu were fruit-flavored, which is usually not our jam (so to speak). One that caught our eye was an imperial cinnamon hefeweizen. I could see potential for that to go either very right or very wrong but ventured a sample. It came with a honey/cinnamon glaze on the rim of the glass, which the barman explained was optional. We didn't like the glaze but did like the beer and opted for a small pour sans glaze. Ended up taking a crowler of that with us. A very unique and satisfying beer. Very worth a stop if you're in Cheboygan. I'd love to get back in the cooler months to see what kinds of warm-ups are on tap. read more

One of my favorite breweries! It's not often that I go to a brewery and like almost every single beer but I do here. The cinnamon Hefeweizen with the honey and cinnamon sugar rum is my favorite beer of all time! They often have a music a here, a great patio and rooftop. The bartenders are always very kind. They now have a food truck servicing Mediterranean food but you can also bring in outside food. Love CBC, always a good time read more

Lots of beers on draft - I tried the Belgian. Lots of games to play. My toddler loved the Yeti with Spaghetti and the giant connect four. The musician was supposed to play until 9p but when we got there at 8p he was shutting down. He said they asked him to move his set time to earlier. A nice relaxing place to enjoy a drink with friends. They have an awesome patio and top deck, with live music if you go at the right time. They have a wide selection of beers. I can't say any of them would make my top 10 all time favorites but they are all solid and certainly worth a try. Can't go wrong with the Blood Orange Honey or Blackberry Blonde Ale. There's no food, or at least none that I noticed but you can bring your own. Or apparently even have it delivered there Like the table next to us got a pizza. Service is quick, never a wait for drinks and bartenders are very friendly and helpful going through the different beers if you've never been. read more

Two weeks ago we were in Cheboygan for the week...craft beer nerd, this was my first stop. Walked in early afernoon on a Thursday so there was only one other pair in, which I was glad as I told beertender Logan when reading the yelps they all mentioned how small the tap room was. Personally I think it's comfortably small....then again I wasn't trying to drink on a packed Friday night. I didn't head out to the patio or up to the roof top. I wasn't driving so after telling Logan "hey you're my first Michigan brewery and 308th ever... I want to try everything...but your IPA, however I am very intrigued as it's only 40 IBU". I asked Logan to pour me a little taste of it and w that 40 IBU it was quite tasty. If you're not a piny/bitter IPA fan, be sure not to miss the Tree Love iPA. My mom, a staunch Lite & MGDLight drinker opted for two pints of the refreshing La Cerveza. When I asked Logan if they had flights and how much? I was met w yes, $13 but we have a special and they're $10 today. Took the sting out of trying twelve beers over three flights. I think maybe they're getting 2024 merch so I picked up a $20 shirt on sale for $13. After trying all the beers, my ruling was... they were all good, I would order any of them again, including the IPA, but none walked away a favorite. Not a bad thing, I prefer a brewery where I'm not pigeon-holed and only order That Beer. Logan was friendly and knowledgeable as I didn't know anything about the MI craft brew scene, just that I wanted to try one brewery....until he said it was about three more hours away. Parking for Cheboygan was easy, just street parking. I liked that the brew house was right behind the bar. While there the brewer came out for a bit and I was unstoppable chatting craft beer, he got up and went to the brew house... when he returned, he set down a pour, I believe from the tank....can't get fresher than that! Of his Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Smores Pastry Stout and it was a delicious ending to an afternoon of drinking my way through his tap list. Albeit our conversation was extremely brief, he was a delightful fellow! I also met the pleasant Events Coordinator Autumn. For a small tap room I appreciated there was several standard height tables! Thanks Cheboygan for being a memorable first ever Michigan brewery and for the lovely staff and good beers that will go w that memory. Cheers. read more

Very nice facility and staff. Beautiful equipment in the back room!! I stopped for a growler of Kolsch style beer. The beer tasted fine and was drinkable, but it was very hazy and didn't really have the Kolsch-style flavors I was looking for today.... I'll be back, but will try a different style next time. read more

This is just such a great brewery! in the wintertime, they really have more fun with their beer because CBco. isn't hammered with producing so much of their Blood Orange for the stadiums downstate. It's worth the drive to Cheboygan! This week (after 2021 Christmas) they had two outstanding beers on tap that I just had to try: Oatmeal Cookie stout and an Imperial Cinnamon Hefeweizen served in a cin/sugar rimmed glass. Two dessert beers, IMO. Just great stuff. I also got a crowler can of their Cherry Stout to go. They folks here are super friendly (patrons and employees). Dog friendly outside only, I believe. Bring your own food if you like because they are hip to that since they don't serve their own. This is a brewery, not a restaurant. And I love that about CBco. In the warm months, sitting on the patio ground level or their roof deck overlooking the street and the river is a favorite of my wife, our friends, and mine. We have a place 25 miles east of Cheboygan, so we have to limit our intake of their fine beers. If we lived in town, my wallet would be thinner and my waistline wider because I don't think I could get tired it here. read more

We rolled into Cheboygan at dusk and were excited to enjoy a flight on their upper patio deck. This was our first time here and I wanted to try a few of their beers. I hear so many great things about this brewery. The brewery itself is very small and is located in the middle of town. Due to Covid, we were not able to go into the brewery, but that was just fine with us, we were enjoying the beautiful, colorful sky. He doesn't like to be cold, but luckily it was perfect sweater weather so we were both comfortable. He is a fan of their Blood Orange Beer and I really had a difficult time deciding which beer I enjoyed the most...they were all fantastic. We plan on coming back up this way in the fall to do the M-23 beer trail along the eastern coast of Michigan. We have pretty much covered the breweries along the Western Coast over the last two years. We have had such a wonderful summer exploring our state, meeting new people, and finding hidden gems. #puremichigan read more

Cute brewery in the heart of downtown Cheboygan. Tasty beer, free popcorn, and friendly staff make for an excellent overall experience. It was a bit chilly when we visited so we sat inside. However, my dad tells me that the rooftop patio is a good place to sit in the summer and is typically filled from late June to mid August. As far as the beer goes, I really enjoyed the "La Cerveza" and their "Blueberry Cream Ale". We also got a sampler 4 pack of tall boy cans ($8!!!! So cheap!) and my fiancé enjoyed their IPA (it wasn't on tap but it was good out of the can). We also enjoyed looking at their old school truck that was parked out front when we visited, as well as reading all about the history of beer in Cheboygan inside. read more

Wonderful brewery. The outside area and the roof patio are both great places to enjoy the sunshine and a fine brew. I had three. The Blood Orange Honey was delicious, lighter than I expected but a decent abv and easy down the hatch. The Back Forty Saison was also a nice treat. Smooth for a saison, easy to drink. And finished off with a dessert beer the Chocolate Cherry Stout. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this brewery, call me crazy but I'm calling it in the top ten in Michigan. read more
