Alex the captain was great, he knew the waters well and navigated the boat safely. The cook Rich was amazing ( definitely the best burgers I've had on a boat) and he was also a deck hand which was very helpful. Koa was an additional deck hand that helped every step of the way and filleted the fish beautifully. This was the 3rd boat I've been on and by far the best. Thank you Alex and crew. See you on the next one!

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on the Triton Sportfishing boat out of LA Harbor, and it was an experience worthy of five stars and more. Opting for the Triton over the Gailforce because of scheduling and our fondness for the combo trips this company offers. The owner's flexibility in rescheduling our trips is always appreciated and adds to the overall exceptional service. During March, we had the privilege of venturing out three times to the islands, twice on the Triton and once on the Sport King boat. Our trips were not only fruitful but immensely enjoyable. Winning the jackpot was just the beginning of the excitement; we happily distributed it among the crew before settling our bills, as their dedication truly deserved recognition, especially with lobster season drawing to a close. The variety of catches was impressive, ranging from lobsters and perches to whitefish and sheepshead. However, the pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the colossal 16-pound spider crab--a true highlight of our journey. The crew's expertise and assistance were invaluable throughout, and the onboard cuisine never failed to satisfy. Personally, I found the meat quesadilla with grilled onions to be an absolute delight--although I must suggest adding salsa to the menu, a small touch that would enhance the culinary experience. Beyond the fishing, what truly sets the Gailforce apart is the camaraderie fostered by Captain Jarrett and his crew. They go beyond being just skilled professionals; they become friends, making it difficult to resist returning trip after trip. However, presence of bunks onboard the Triton allowed for some much-needed rest before the journey home--a thoughtful amenity that further underscores the company's commitment to customer comfort that going to be a little harder to decide on my next trip. I've since introduced many beginners to the joys of Gailforce & Triton's combo trips, and without fail, they've fallen in love with the experience. Whether it's the Sport King, Gailforce, or the Triton itself, each vessel offers an unforgettable adventure. As lobster season approaches, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to return, and I wholeheartedly recommend Triton Sportfishing to anyone seeking an exceptional fishing excursion.

Capt and crew work their butts off to get the lobsters and fish. Can't win all the time but they try hard.

My first Yellowtail. A great experience aboard the Gail Force.

I fished on the Gail Force with my buddy, Roger, on Monday, July 8th, 2019. The deckhand and cook (great short order cook) Siv made the trip. This was our first time out for Yellowtail. Siv showed us what to do, and what NOT to do. He took time to explain and demonstrate the finer points of fishing for Yellowtail. I am from the Bay Area and fish for Salmon: a much different approach. Yellowtail are a world apart: stronger and faster. I felt that the $110. price is fair for the trip. We fished with live bait. We did stop mid-trip and pick up live squid from the bait boat, and each angler paid an extra $10. for the squid. Money well spent. I got the Yellowtail on the squid. I am sure the live bait is the key to catching Yellowtail. Without the live bait, this would be difficult. If you go, make sure to have Siv make you a bacon cheeseburger and/or a quesadilla. After pulling in a Yellowtail, you will be hungry. My only complaint: $2. for a gunny sack? Just about everyone gave them back at the end of the day, placing their catch in a large blue plastic bag.

Robert was extremely helpful and friendly. After asking me a few questions, he was able to gauge my level of experience and make great suggestions. From the beginning to the end he helped me every step of the way. Robert even went above and beyond by checking the fish report of my upcoming charter. He then suggested what tackle is recommended for the trip. Not your typical gatekeeper tackle shop. The products there are top brands but with reasonable prices. Something for every budget but also high end gear if that's what you're going for. They have cool clothing and often organize fishing events where local anglers are encouraged to compete. I highly recommend LA Fishing Alliance for both beginners and advanced anglers. Real cool spot, up to date, top products, quality service, good vibes.

The fish are plentiful and hungry. - They had plenty of chairs, buckets, nets, etc. - The rented rods were pre-hooked and weighted (though some were missing hooks, so check before you grab one). Cons: - We arrived about 10 minutes after they were supposed to open but the gates were still closed and there was already a short line of people waiting. Thankfully we only had to wait another 5 minutes before they opened. - The fish are SO easy to catch that we had 4 in about 10-15 minutes (though one broke the line and got away). At $12 per pound, the cost was over $125 including our entrance, 2 rod rentals, bait, and the 3 fish we took home. That was about what we expected in terms of price - but it was a long 1 hour drive for 10-15 minutes of action. - The biggest disappointment was that the website said we could have our fish cleaned and fileted there - but once we arrived they said it wasn't available this weekend (a sign indicated it also wasn't available last weekend). I had tried calling the day prior to verify everything, but all they have is a recorded message. We have neither the tools nor knowledge to clean the fish ourselves - so now we are figuring that out. That had been one of the biggest reasons we chose this "easy" experience. All in all, I'm still glad that we went and that my son caught his first fish - but just be aware what you might be in for and plan accordingly.

It was an exceptionally nice day to take in the views. Veteran's Day is an honorable day, as well as a somber day for me, so it's no accident I was hanging out in parks today. I chose some of the most beautiful ones I could think of, as they are inspirational to me. Parks are places of honor. They are almost always dedicated to a person, or people, who have served their communities, their country. And throughout the parklands we discover benches, rocks, and even trees bearing dedications & memorials. The parks along the coast were filled with people today and they seemed more quiet than usual. The general overtone was one of respectfulness. At day's end, as I notice a brilliant, almost-full moon, I'm reminded that I can best honor those who served, including those who have fallen, by living the best way I know how. And for me that's all about appreciating nature, and life.

And all though we still made the best of it it really did not live up to what was promised and the amount of money we paid. So let's start with m: 1. The address did not match what was listed on their Yelp page and created a lot of confusion and frustration especially since we had kids with us. I had to text the owner, Mario, and he gave us another location to charter form which was not at all what was listed on their page. 2. Not sure if the captain of the day,Noah, was having a bad day or what but he was definitely not in the mood to greet us properly. He was very short, not so friendly and barely spoke to us during our ride. 3. The boat was not like the photos they presented or posted on Yelp. I even texted the owner and asked him to send me a few photos of what the boat will look like. It was definitely dirty, the coaches were so damaged and dirty they had black clothes over them. One of inside couches was wet, my uncle sat on it unknowingly making his pants wet and him uncomfortable for the rest of the ride. 4. The table surfaces were all damaged & chipped. We had to be careful for the kids not to get splinters when they would approach the table to grab something to eat. 5. Worst of it all was that we only watched cargo shipments for 2 hours!! On our phone call with Mario mentioned we can go through the canals and even get a far glimpse of the Queen Mary but we didn't. We even asked Noah to take us the other way around into the open water and he said no he needs to this way first (meaning by the cargo shipments). It was very disappointing since it was my dads actual birthday and the experience was completely robbed from us. It's very sad that we wasted over a thousand dollars and didn't receive what we had paid for. And I even texted Mario afterwards telling him our concerns but didn't get a reply back. Poor customer service.
