I had an absolutely amazing time on the Victory with Long Beach Sportfishing! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Steve, the landing manager, was super helpful and organized, making check-in smooth and easy. Captain George ran a great trip professional, friendly, and made sure we were always on the fish. Danny, the deckhand, was awesome hardworking, funny, and made everyone feel welcome on board. And Johnny the cook deserves a special shoutout his food was fantastic and really hit the spot out at sea! The whole crew above and below deck made it such a fun, memorable day. The trips are also very reasonably priced only $80 for a three-quarter day trip, which is an incredible deal for the experience you get. Definitely check out their website and book a trip on the Victory you won't regret it!

The captain and the crew on the Victory is absolutely amazing. It was my first time ever on a fishing boat. They were so helpful so kind and because of it I'm going back again this Sunday thank you for making my experience so pleasurable.

Best was to spend your Covid Stimulus Put your money into the people Pacific Orange Rockfish...will it Sushi? Yes (Rhett n Link) Won't smell like a fish farm...Even when they slice and dice...George in the Kitchen's food will balance it out, however I recommend not filleted, cheek is delicacy, and deckhands are so busy already, though the sea gulls may not like it as much Would do it again Warning to Females, great place to meet great man, and get a workout, I was wrong about sportfishing

I went fishing with my dad ( it was my first time) Monday 12/18/23 on VICTORY and I had an exceptional experience ! Thank you to the deckhand and especially the chef ! He mad a amazing loco moco and helped me with my rod and even let me use his and helped me reel in my fish and told me so much helpful information that I can use for future fishing trips ! Even the other fishermen helped out and we caught some great fish ! 10/10 on everything !

Me and my primo enjoying the day off

The VICTORY!!!! Good crew on a nice clean boat restroom for women on the boat (which is good for taking my sister out without having to deal with the dirty mens room ) deckhand Kevin is really helpful the captain Phil really knows how to put you on the fish and the cooks breakfast burritos are on point! Everything is marvelous I can't lie pricing is very very reasonable and I love it because I can afford to go out more often I highly recommend this place to anyone trying to really enjoy their day off and have a great fishing experience I been out every week since I went out for the first time three weeks ago before I'd spend three times the money with my old place and had nowhere near the quality experience so yeah if you want to enjoy your day with a good crew and limited load hit the victory!! You won't regret it !!

    Smooched!

Yesterday's was no different with the spur of the moment trip with my sons. Not the El Niño monsters of past trips caught on this boat before but a healthy load nonetheless. Captain stretched it out at the end because we were on the late bass bite so we stayed to load up. And he was strategic in how to use the time we had fishing. Careful not to waste too much time when spots get too slow. Galley has very reasonable prices that are stated on the menu (no need to guess) and the burgers taste amazing. (Get the double cheese burger ) Fish cleaning is very reasonably priced. (There are some boats that charge 3x -5x more for the price for cleaning) No reason not to have all of your fish cleaned here. It looks like everyone yesterday did. All of crew had friendly demeanor and extremely helpful. Not just would come back, but we WILL be back. I've definitely been away too long.

The Driveway off of 7th Street is easy to miss, as the sign is small. I've been fishing the Ocean and Freshwater for many years. I started fly fishing about two years ago, but only gone two trips. Well, I thought I was fly fishing just fine and catching fish during my yearly backpacking trips in the Eastern Sierras. A co-worker had taken beginner's casting lessons and had recommended for me to take the classes to improve on my casting. I had visited the facility on the night during a club competition. I saw the fun and camaraderie the fly casters were having. I located the beginners casting class in Long Beach Casting Club's website. The club is the home to many local Master Fly Casting and FFF Certified Fly Casting Instructors. On premises are a casting pond and the club house. Stadium style lights are usually on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings. Class starts with lecture and videos inside the club house, then they are divided into four groups and each group has several instructors to help students with their casting for the evening at the casting pond. The classes run about five weeks, and each week they teach a different cast. Classes start 7pm sharp, so if you are late, you will miss the 15 minutes of lecture and videos. Each week, you will have the same group of instructors who will help you with your casting and any questions you may have. The first night they go over with suggestions on proper equipments, Fly Rod, Fly Reel, Fly Line, Fly Line Backing and Tapered Leader. Class suggest that you have your own equipment, 9ft 5/6wt balance outfit as I brought my lightweight 7.5ft 3wt outfit that I use for my backpacking trips. If you need assistance in assembling the rod, reel, and/or fly line, the instructors will help you, just bring them in at least 30-40 minutes before the class starts. They teach the proper rod grip, Pick up and Lay Down, False Cast, Roll Cast, Shooting Line, Off Shoulder Casts and Line Mending. I thought I knew how to cast a fly line, but I was amazed how much I improved after each class. Anyone can attend these classes, men and women, if you have a desire to learn. I am happy that I had taken the classes at Long Beach Casting Club. I now have more confidence to tackle the Eastern Sierras, Lakes, streams and maybe Bone fish on a fly during my next vacation. The Long Beach Casting club also has rod building, fly tying, on-the-water outings and intermediate fly casting classes. If you are a seasoned caster, but need any help, stop by as previously mentioned, they have instructor or advanced students that can help.

Two very different adventures in one! The staff was great. I caught three fish - which is impressive because I am not a fisherman - our guide was very knowledgeable and helped make it happen. Jetski Fishing the Pacific Ocean...heaven indeed! Definitely booking another trip soon!…read more The booking process was a breeze and the marina was conveniently accessible from the parking lot at the Hotel Maya. We were quickly checked in (make sure you arrive early), suited with our gear, and briefed on the plan for the day. Renting gear from Jetski Fishing was perfect because we didn't have to haul extra stuff to/from the parking lot. Our guide was very knowledgeable about fishing locations and provided great guidance throughout the trip. We hooked some keeper sand bass within the first hour. After 15 minutes or so of inactivity, our guide had us start up the jetskis and we rode at 40 - 50 mph to our next location (you don't have to go that fast, but when in Rome...). Our group fished around a couple of spots at the second location, but the catches had to be released due to species restrictions. We then bolted to our last fishing location where I hooked on to a thresher that snapped my line. And just like that - our trip went way too fast! Some recommendations: - Read the info email from Jetski Fishing after you confirm your trip (everything you need to know is in it) - Bring sunglasses (because the future's bright), sunblock, snacks, and drinks - Bring a fully charged phone, connect to the Bluetooth speakers, and play some tunes (fellow AT&T users: I was at one service bar most of the trip, so I wasn't able to stream itunes or Pandora) - There is plenty of storage space for a backpack, jacket, and small soft cooler - Take advantage of the 'filet your catch' option - Don't forget your GoPro (the views and marine life are incredible) Catch some 'Fresh Ones' and tip your guide!
