Though there are many kind and capable individuals working at Gainesville Urology, the practice is so vastly understaffed that a great many problems result. It became very difficult to see an actual urologist unless you were willing to schedule an appointment a long time in advance. When calling the office, it became almost impossible to talk with anyone, and the office became ever less likely to return calls in a remotely timely manner, if at all. The practice has gotten so slack that two of the doctors pictured on its website no longer even work there. One retired years ago. Even after an MRI found my prostate gland was six times the normal size, all that was recommended was to treat it with medication. Only after repeated urinary blockages with visits to the Emergency Room to get a catheter was a cystoscopy finally recommended a year and a half later. When I went to another practice's urologist to get a second opinion, he immediately recommended another MRI (it had been 1.5 years since the last one) and a cystoscopy, saying that most of his surgery patients' prostate had been just two to three times the normal size. He appeared stunned by the blasé attitude Gainesville Urology appeared to have for my condition. As a final insult, Gainesville Urology repeatedly dropped the ball about sending my medical records to the new urology firm. The P.A. told me I didn't need to do anything and that the records would be sent. This turned out to be wrong. When another call to the office was not returned, I made a special trip there just to get the records sent. But the staffer at the front desk said something else (also largely incorrect), and I ended up having to call a third-party medical records firm and fill out its on-line form to get the records finally transferred. You could not pay me ever to return to Gainesville Urology. Especially if you have any health problems that are serious and/or need prompt attention, this is the last urology firm I would ever choose or recommend to anyone. read more

The office staff at Gainesville urology is terrible their scheduler never return calls not on bit concerned about the pain and suffering of their patience . If I did not already have a stent in place I would find another doctor and not because doctor is not good but because the office staff is in compassionate uncaring and not helpful at all. read more

they are under staff, when calling you are lucky if you talk to person. if you leave a message it will take 2 days to hear back from them. forget about seeing a doctor that impossible. it took two weeks for my results to come back and timothy brock called he was on vacation and he was so unprofessional and rude thats the worst worst i had every been talk to from a doctor in my 50 years. i was treated like a nobody and i would not recommend dr. brock to nobody read more

The doctors here are some of the most caring and professional doctors I have ever had. Dr Fogg always goes above and beyond to take care of her patients, and the way she educates and explains things to you is wonderful! Poor bad service, I came in with a problem that was bad but the doctors made it worse no answer to what the issue is they'll help you spend your money they're failing department they don't know how to code anything properly and then they blame you for the coding errors don't walk but run. read more

Dr. Woo and Dr. Fogg are wonderful- Dr. Woo's medical assistant it an absolute angel. However, the front staff are rude, incompetent, and unprofessional. It is impossible to get a procedure scheduled, they don't know how to read the Dr. notes, and when you're dealing with an issue that if left untreated will cause complete kidney failure and death the last thing you need is to be talked to sarcastically. That is if you can get an actual person on the phone to begin with. I would recommend the doctors a million times but good luck getting to see them. read more

The surgery pre-op lady was very obscene and rude. She literally told me to stop screaming at her when I asked for pricing regarding my upcoming procedure, lol. Clearly, perhaps I should have screamed at her so that she could tell the difference between being a concerned patient as opposed to being a loud and obnoxious so n so! Needless to say my procedure was NOT scheduled do to her rudeness and lack of professionalism. She should be reminded that, she as an employee, represented the business with her immature attitude. Very poor patient service! Always have to leave a message when calling for anything. I am (was) a patient of Dr. Woo with a prostate cancer diagnosis. I called to inform him of blood in my urine and of course had to leave a message for his nurse. No return call after 2 days. I called again. Another message. No return call after 5 days. Apparently they didn't think my issue was of any importance and did not deserve the attention of Dr. Woo or his nurse. I searched for and found another Urologist who's office staff actually answered my first call and was very attentive to my issues. I had my family Dr. Submit a referral to them. They called me as soon as they received it (within the hour), set up a new patient appointment and demonstrating a sincere interest with my issue. Avoid this provider! Their collective incompetence is only matched by their systemic lack of quality patient follow-up. I first visited this office on Weds. Aug 12, with heavy bleeding. I was ordered off my blood thinners (taken for afib) and warned that I might experience clotting. In the wee hours of Friday, 14th, I drove myself to the ER in Gainesville with clotted urethra. A catheter was inserted. Later that morning Dr Brock (on call) visited me in the ER, and ordered me discharged, and to expect a call from their "in-house" surgery center, as I required a scope procedure to ascertain why I was bleeding. The call came (3x) and each time requesting additional medical reports be faxed to their office. Finally, after satisfying their gauntlet of requests, I received a call from the scheduling nurse telling me that due to my pace maker (ICD) they required me to go into the hospital for the required scope. (They would refer me to the hospital for an appointment with Dr Angelle.) However, I developed a block in my catheter and made another late night visit to the Gainesville ER. Again, that morning, after some back and forth on who was to do the scope (surgery ctr or hospital), I was ordered discharged by Dr Brock and told he was certain that the in-office surgery ctr would be able to scope me. And, once again, the surgery ctr scheduling nurse called and informed me that I'd need to go into hospital for that procedure. At this point I called a friend in Atlanta and asked for a referral. I made an appointment with Piedmont Urology for the next day. Upon my visit and interview with Dr Sands about recent history, and following lots of "are you kidding me" and head wagging, my catheter was removed (yippee) and the elusive scope was performed that hour, in office. What it took Gainesville Urology an entire week to screw up, it took Piedmont Urology one visit to remedy. My advice....AVOID GAINESVILLE UROLOGY...at all costs. read more
