Parking is fine with three spots in front of the business and more areas to park on the sides. It did not seem like a busy area and parking does not seem to be an issue here. Amanda asked me if there were any areas she should focus on and also let me know I could let her know if I needed her to adjust the pressure. I've been getting massages in the San Jose area for years and Amanda is the first masseuse to ever ask me those questions. They also did a layer of heated towels between the sheet and the blanket that was magical and again, not something we've had done in other massage locations. The room was calming with low, warm lighting while we undressed. It was mostly shut off during our massage. The music was also playing low. Very easy to let yourself relax here. The lobby and overall space is well curated. The lobby has a coffee and tea bar that also has water post massage. 100/10 be sure to call and make an appt for you're girl! Can't wait to be back!

I called around 1:37 PM on a Friday hoping to book a couples massage for later that day, but they were fully booked. Fortunately, they had two openings available which was 2:15 PM and 6:00 PM. My partner encouraged me to go without him, so I took the 2:15 PM appointment. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, Josalyn (or Jocelyn... sorry if I misspelled your name!). Very pleasant on the phone and in-person. She had me fill out a form detailing the type of massage I wanted, pressure preference, areas of focus, and any add-ons I was interested in. I chose the 60-minute deep tissue massage with extra attention to my back, neck, and shoulders. My massage therapist, Gib, was absolutely amazing. Bless her hands because she really got to work on all the tension and knots in my upper back that I didn't even realize I had. There were even moments when we both laughed because the relief felt so good I'd let out an involuntary grunt. It was intense in the best possible way. The hour flew by, and I honestly wished I had booked a 90-minute or even 2-hour session. Now I know I'll need to plan ahead next time. Safe to say, I'll definitely be back, and hopefully next time my partner can experience it with me as well.

Once I got a small bruise on my face after a 90-minute massage so I stick with the 30 to 60 minute massages now. I've seen several people here and had deep tissue, Swedish, Thai aroma, and head, neck and shoulder massages. Most of the time I've had a great massage but some have left me with pulled or sore muscles so I tend to stick with several people. Overall, I really like Darwan, Penny and Grace because they check in with you and communicate well. Siri and Lisa are good though once Lisa caused a pulled muscle in my back because she twisted it a little hard in one direction. She seemed to neglect parts of my body and over focus on other areas. I don't see her anymore because sometimes her nails were too long and they had an annoying unpleasant sensation which was very distracting. Siri has mostly been good. I think you need to find which massage and therapist work best for your body and needs. Parking is good and the receptionist is really nice and knowledgeable about the different types of massage. They offer hot tea, water, and a special Thai tea they make which is very good. If they could change the headrests I'd book longer massages.

Review for Watercourse Way Bath House Spa…read more A peaceful oasis in the middle of Palo Alto that works for just about any occasion. This is a long overdue review. I have been to Watercourse Way by myself, with girlfriends, and with boyfriends--and it has been solid every single time. Whether you're looking for quiet alone time, a girls' day, or a relaxing couples experience, this place truly has something for everyone. What makes Watercourse Way special is the privacy and flexibility. The private rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Each one typically includes a hot tub, cold plunge, shower, and a comfortable resting area with clean towels and linens. It feels like your own little retreat tucked away from the world. They also offer larger rooms that are perfect for sharing with friends--soaking, chatting, and maybe adding a massage to the experience. The massage services are excellent, and you can book them individually, as a couple, or as part of a group visit. The staff makes the whole process easy and welcoming. A few practical notes: * Parking can be a little tricky right near the entrance * I usually park at the Whole Foods on Homer Avenue and walk a block or two--it's simple and feels very safe * The facility is consistently clean, well-maintained, and professionally run * Prices are reasonable for the level of privacy and service you receive What I appreciate most about Watercourse Way is how it encourages you to slow down. It's the kind of place that reminds you to take care of yourself, breathe, and reset. Life is short. Stress is unavoidable. You can't control other people--but you can control how you respond. So go soak. Get a massage. Unwind. Make it part of your routine. You'll leave calmer than when you arrived--and that alone makes it worth it.

I had been neglecting my skin and knew it needed some help, so I booked the custom facial so the esthetician could choose what made sense instead of guessing myself. Once I was trying to relax, in the towel robe and lying down eyes closed to block the bright light, she looked at my skin and proceeded to tell me I needed a different facial because the custom one wouldn't be "enough." It was not really clear to me what the differences were although I asked clarifying questions, but she talked through multiple options and prices even mentioning one had an offer of a free take home product. This was NOT the vibe I was looking for. Now I could have just said no please stick with the original plan, but I was vulnerable... this was the first nice postpartum thing I had done for myself and did want to do what was needed for my skin. However, I ultimately felt like I was being upsold and having to make the decision to spend more money on the spot when I'm sitting there eyes closed trying to relax. It was too much mental load especially since I wasn't familiar with the facial options as a first time customer. The mention of the free product also made me feel like it was a sales pitch. I wasn't familiar with the product, and it wasn't going to play a factor in my facial choice. The facial overall seemed good and I did add on microderm abrasion which I do think make sense for my skin and would have been a simple add on without doing the mental math on the other facial types. At the end, she put on a tinted sunscreen that when I stepped out, made me appear slightly orange like a really poor foundation match so I ended up going home to wipe off my face instead of continuing along my day. All in all, I think they use quality products and know what they're doing. However, my recent facial somewhere else reminded me how this one was simply not a relaxing experience, made me feel put on the spot, and led me to spend more than I had planned without the conviction it made a noticeable difference.

(On my first visit I didn't know about the punch card) I normally tip around 20% or sometimes a little more--for example, for a $73 one-hour combo I tip at least $15, and for a $108 90-minute session I usually tip at least $20-21. This time I did a 90-minute massage ($103) and tipped $21, which is about 20%. However, the masseuse counted the bills in front of me and the receptionist "suggested" I should tip $25 instead. Being pressured to tip more than 20% made me feel very UNCOMFORTABLE, especially since I've always tipped fairly. I really like the massages here, but this experience has me reconsidering whether I want to come back!!! Owner need to fix this situation as I've seen few review about it now!!

We tend to tip ~20% after each service (occasionally higher when we get our favorite massage therapists) We went last night and the lady with the Zelle name "Li Zhao" was quite rude. Instead of asking if we want to tip, she asked if I had Zelle. I knew what she meant and said yes. I did a rough math estimate for 20% for both therapists and sent the money. She asked if it was supposed to split for two therapists. I said yes she then said something to her coworkers and acted like it was not enough until a coworker said something back. She then turned around looking upset but still said thank you. We left confused and felt like she was judging us for tipping 20%? In my opinion, tipping should always be OPTIONAL but I will always tip for services knowing it is optional. Also here's the math: the total was $254 and I tipped $50 which is ~20%. I did the math in my head so I knew I maybe short with some change. When I do the calculation on a calculator it should've been $50.80. I was short $0.80 but I didn't think that much would be bothersome??? Giving 4/5 for all the good experiences. However for the lady, 1/5 for greed.

I went in, told them I was there for a prenatal massage and I wanted them to knead on my knots, I didn't want to be rubbed with oil. She seemed to understand English. I went in then room and she asked me to lay on my belly. I pointed at my belly and said Im pregnant. I should've left then but I gave her a second chance. Of course she put a lot of oil and started rubbing me. I asked for more pressure 5 times and she would go back to her normal pressure. She would just repeat one pattern over and over again on my legs and hands and back. In the middle of the massage, she asked me to lay on my back and I had to remind her I was 8 months pregnant and couldn't lay on my back. She said but I want to massage your head. Im like but Im pregnant, I can't lay on my back!! I was not happy so I tipped her low. She said this was a $95 massage and I said you don't know how to massage a pregnant woman. She just looked at me like she was not convinced. Then she followed me all the way to my car to get more tip. If you care about your tip money, please deliver good service. If you don't provide prenatal massage be honest and let your customer know! Don't expect to be tipped if you don't know the basics of massage.
