Acupuncture is the ONLY thing that healed my plantar fasciitis heel and arch pain. Shuqing Jing treated me, and I already felt relief after the first session, and it only took 2-3 sessions for it to fully heal. I was struggling with plantar fasciitis for over a year and tried physical therapy, orthotics, and nothing worked. My physical therapist told me that his mom treated her plantar fasciitis with acupuncture, which made made me question why I was even going to PT after all, right? I started going to Evoke and working with Laurel before trying to get pregnant after 2 miscarriages. Laurel was so caring and knowledgable, this was my first experience with acupuncture and it exceeded my expectations. Laurel made diet recommendations, helped me interpret lab work, and was overall an amazing source of comfort and support. I continued working with her through my first trimester and again a month before delivery to prepare for labor, both pregnancy and labor went very well and I credit that in part to working with Laurel. This review is not for the actual acupuncture services, but for the customer service I received from Yen specifically at the front desk. Dealing with the billing and insurance side of things with Evoke has been absolutely awful and I hope that no one ever has to experience the absolutely pain that I have been dealing with this week. Because of Yen, I spent an additional several hours on the phone with my health insurance company, and still, with no positive outcome. Several weeks ago, my partner booked me an appointment consultation at Evoke. We were told we would receive a follow up and confirmation which never came. About a week goes by, and I call the clinic to follow up on the appointment as well as to double check that my insurance information has been verified. Suddenly, Yen tells me that my insurance isn't accepted. I immediately call my insurance company (United Healthcare) and the rep calls Evoke directly to explain to Yen that because UHC is partnered with Optum, this portion of the insurance is not considered an HMO. She's verifies the information as well as the appointment and a day goes by. Then, I get a missed call from Evoke from Yen stating that I need my credit card on file to keep the appointment. I call back to give the number and again, verify that we have the insurance information in order. Yen tells me that I'm on a HMO plan and that Evoke doesn't accept this. I again try to explain that it's not considered an HMO for acupuncture, and the Optum partnership, and also provide the billing information but she doesn't listen. Again, I get the insurance rep on the line, who explains the same information to Yen. At this point, I think I've spent maybe 6 hours working with Evoke from booking the appointment, to calling insurance, etc. This is all because Yen at Evoke refused to call the correct billing department and send the POTENTIAL bill of a future client to the right billing department. It's insane. She kept insisting that she would send it to the wrong place, which I myself, and the UHC rep, told her was incorrect. Then she insisted that I pay the bill. Their services are probably better than their office skills, but I wouldn't know. Don't go hear if you have insurance. UHC has filed a complaint to cancel their future contracts with them. read more

Jing is AMAZING! I had been struggling with infertility for about 3 years when I was referred by a close friend to Jing. My friend was also trying to conceive. Evoke is in my insurance network and it's very easy working with Evoke. They have you set up your information online with your payment information so whenever you come in for a visit they charge you automatically and send you e-mail receipts. The front ladies are always welcoming and is able to answer any of your questions you may have. Scheduling/Re-Scheduling is fairly easy as you can book with the front desk ladies or through email. Watch out for this place. There are a number of red flags. Review for customer service or office experience. 1) They take insurance but they (at least the receptionist) keeps insisting that the the insurance out of pocket percentage is BIGGER than what the insurance people say. The receptionist is pretty stubborn and refuses to accept what the insurance ACTUALLY tells her of the actual out of pocket percentage responsible by the patient. 2) They INSIST on having your credit card on file! No other healh related services such as medical/dental services would force you to have a credit card on file! It sounds almost fraudulent, as they can charge at will! And it seems to violate a patient's rights! We have decided not to go with this clinic from the above red flags! read more

I started coming to Evoke from my IVF provider's recommendation. They mentioned they work well with the Evoke team and that they don't push herbs to patients. I have been to other acupuncturists and have tried the bitter herbs prescribed. It scares me because Im not sure how it interacts with my medication since I'm on blood thinners and blood pressure medication. I had a very complicated history of pregnancy and multiple pregnancy lost for the past 3-4 years. Im on my 2nd trimester now and started coming to Evoke under Shujing's care before our IVF transfer. So grateful to have a very caring and supportive Acupuncturist. She's very thorough, checking in to all my concerns,she listens and gives me best practice advices to manage my 1st trimester symptoms and up to my current state.
