    Sampler Plate
    Emma J.

    * Based on food/drinks * We went here the first evening we got into the hotel. We got the sampler plate, grilled chicken sandwich, classic burger, and chicken ceaser salad. We also had some cocktails which were all really good. The sampler had wings, pretzels, and mozzarella sticks, the pretzels were my favorite part but it was all good. The chicken sandwich was decent, a little dry in some parts. Burger and salad were reportedly good. The salad came out last out of everything and they told us that they ran out of chicken and had to go downstairs to get more which we thought was odd. Service was good!

After a long day of traveling this was a much needed meal break. The ambiance was cool! And while the food was "bar food" there were some items that were delicious! I specifically liked the mozzarella sticks and Buffalo wings. I wasn't crazy about the pretzel. They had a full bar so we ordered some of their specialty cocktails which we really enjoyed.

This swanky retro-chic bowling alley is located on the 2nd floor of Cabana Bay's lobby building. They offer a laid back atmosphere inspired by the charm of old school bowling alleys. They offer bowling, a full bar and a food menu, which isn't too impressive, but it isn't bad and does the job. The rate is $17 for adults and $11 for kids 9 and under. This grants you 45 minutes of bowling and includes your shoe rental. I'd slightly disagree with anyone calling this "cosmic bowling" since there is a difference between what they do at night versus what cosmic bowling is, but I'd still say I prefer Galaxy's retro-chic version at night. They also offer merchandise like t-shirts, hats, keychains and even a snazzy bowling pin cup you can purchase. As a heads-up: The venue isn't very large and they may still ask for reservations, so be prepared for that. There's only 10 lanes of bowling and naturally, that might mean it'll be crowded/limited either once the Universal parks let out or on a rainy day. Are there other places in the area to bowl? Sure. But the rates are very similar and honestly, if you're able to check out Galaxy Bowl, it's a pretty cool place to bowl at and you don't necessarily have to be a hotel guest to enjoy it.

This was such a fun way to end our vacation. The extra themed bowling games were exciting. Although he always beat me at angry birds haha.

A bowling alley INSIDE THE RESORT is awesome! And the food is pretty good here. It does smell a bit like a bowling alley and there aren't many lanes, however, the cozy bar offers a few seats and great service, with specialty cocktails not offered at other bars in Cabana Bay. The menu also has many items not available at the poolside restaurants nor the Bayliner Diner downstairs. Bowling on weekend nights typically requires a reservation. But walk-ins are much easier in the daytime & on weeknights. Yeah, its more pricey than your local bowling alley, but its just upstairs from the Cabana Bay lobby, and the decor is awesomely retro. Food service is hit or miss. On a recent Thursday night, we had an awesome server, and were disappointed to hear she would be off the next couple of days during our stay. The next day, during a lengthy rainstorm, we tried to get a late lunch & were ignored after being seated. We waited more than 10 minutes before heading back downstairs to the Bayliner. On this specific visit, we were also told seating a group of 3 was difficult, and we'd have to sit at a high-top near the entrance. As the 3 of us have worked in restaurants previously, we *assumed* (later) that he meant not all of the tables were open because not enough servers were on-duty, but we agreed that we might have been more understanding if the host had actually told us that. Overall, Galaxy Bowl is a fun option at Cabana Bay. The extension of the 50's-60's theme here is outstanding and offers an enjoyable vibe. Food & drinks are consistently great as well.

After a long day at the park we came back to the room got changed and had a wild idea to go bowling. We got there and, well,..,. we didn't go bowling but we did order some good food. if you are ever staying at the Cabana Bay beach resort, this is a recently found hidden spot with less people and good food and service!

Fun food, exciting 50's retro venue and enjoyable staff interaction. Get the right booth seat and you can have a fun time watching the Galaxy Bowl games while noshing on bar food and beverages. Teriyaki wings were tasty and the Celestial Blast cocktail was very good (two thumbs up!).

Initially on arrival I thought that the place was super small as you can only see one set of lanes, but shortly we realized there are way more lanes available on the second floor. There was a bit of a wait so we just wandered around the springs and other stores to pass the time. The staff that was on hand was good, but I should note there was a guy on the second floor about to clean a pair of shoes because he couldn't get help. The bowling was fun. The lane was cool. The space seemed a bit closer than I remember at other locations, but I could be wrong. The one thing that really did it for me was the greasy balls. Not just one or two, but you could feel it on all of them. You could tell that folks were eating and playing, but not cleaning their hands. There should be someone on staff just for that role because the grease on the balls took away from the feel of playing.

So even though my father isn't around, we wanted to try a buffet, to see just how good they are. We chose Pinstripes because it had won some awards recently, so it seemed like a trusted, well-liked place. Ambiance was very swanky. A beautiful bar greeted us on our way in, and there was plenty of seating in different styles. We were escorted to a high-top and got to work. Service was great. I think our server was the bartender, so that's always high level service. No complaints about that. The food was great, too! They had some fun little pastries, a salad section, other junk I skipped over. They had a few interesting pizzas, including a breakfast one that I enjoyed immensely. There were also all the staples, bacon, eggs, sausage, etc. All were cooked pretty well. There was random BBQ chicken that was a little slimy. Do not recommend. Some of the high points were a BYO chilaquiles station that let you custom order toppings on your chilaquiles and have them fresh cooked in front of you. Sooo good, basically breakfast nachos, and nachos are awesome. There was also a carving station with ribs and prime rib. Nearby the ribs was a pretty nice sauce that you may or may need. The ribs in the middle were nice, the ones on the end were dry, you know how it goes. The prime rib was excellent. I got a big hunk, toasted a bagel, got some egg, and made a giant prime rib bagel brunch sandwich. As for the only bad part of the meal, avoid the chicken and waffles like the plague. Waffles were overcooked and dry, unsavable by any amount of syrup. And those chicken tenders. I don't like acronyms, but LMAO. It's like they were pulled out of the world's cheapest TV dinner, breaded in styrofoam, neither white nor dark meat inside, just awful and a waste of tummy space at a buffet like this. Overall, though, it was an amazing, five star brunch buffet. I'm really glad I came, and hey, I might come back next year, too.

Tips: Sample things first, before you load up on any one item. Come for any buffets they offer. They know what they're doing. And don't order the large mimosa unless you have friends to help you out with their massive pitcher. Lol.

When booking the Pancakes & Play package, I ran into unexpected challenges trying to arrange seating for the accompanying parents. What I thought would be a simple request required several conversations before a solution was found. As a parent of a 5-year-old, being able to sit close enough to supervise the children is important, so I was disappointed that this wasn't easier to accommodate initially. I shared my concerns with Main Event's President, Tony Wehner, who personally responded and committed to working with his team to find a solution. Todd Gurney, the General Manager, then reached out to better understand what I was hoping for and made sure everything was in place before the party. When we arrived, the seating was exactly as discussed. Two tables were reserved near Party Street, allowing the parents to comfortably supervise the kids while still enjoying the celebration. It made all the difference. I also want to give a huge thank you to Adrienna and Zarianna. They were absolutely fantastic!
