The moment I stepped in, I was struck by the calming decor that instantly put me at ease. I was thrilled to find out they could accommodate me as a walk-in this on a Saturday morning. The spacious layout and abundance of spa chairs made sure I never felt cramped, a stark contrast to some past experiences. The staff, an ensemble of warm and friendly women, were absolute magicians with my nails. The pricing is reasonable considering the neighborhood, at $75 for a Gel manicure and regular pedicure. There is free 2 hour parking within the Mercer building garage. My gel manicure is still going strong after almost 2 weeks! read more

It's always nice to see the ladies here at Galaxy Nail Spa! I've followed my Manicurist Hali for about 18yrs and this is her new home. The entire staff is very professional offering a wide variety of services and very clean/hygienic! Even tho I keep it simple with clear nails 90% of the time they are well versed in designs, colors, and offerings of Acrylic from dip, tap, gel and etc. If you pay in cash you receive a discount ...You won't be disappointed. Btw they are BART-ABLE too... just a 7 min walk from the Walnut Creek Station and located right next door to Starbucks! read more

I got French-tip acrylic nails. You can see where they wiped the excess nail polish off because they didn't clean it up properly. A drill was used to clean up my cuticles, which cut me. The paint job is horrible and crooked. read more

Do not come here. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for so long and kept giving them chances to make my nails the way I want them. But after going to a different place I realize how awful this place is. my nails have never been so weak and they do not file them or shape them the way I want it after telling them what I want. The prices are different every time and I get the same thing every time. they use the weakest nail tips because they break off so easily. Literally got a set done and 2 days later a nail broke. everyone I know that has gone to this salon has had a bad experience with one certain individual. read more

Be aware - They charge $10 for nail polish removal. This service always used to be free. No warning whatsoever either. Also, they must have switched their brand of nail polish - it chips after just a week. Very poor service and sub par pedicure. read more

We called ahead and asked them if they had immediate availability for a foot massage, she said "yes, yes, yes, come, come, come" we were right around the corner (not even a 1min drive from the light) drove over, walked in, and she said they were very busy and needed to wait, my wife told the woman behind the counter, "that's why I called to ask, you could have just told me you were busy" then she just said "wait" Yeah, forget that! Not with that kinda attitude. All this could have been avoided through proper, clear and concise communication. Peace out! read more

Love it here- this is my go-to spot in Walnut Creek. Their gel pedicure always turns out great- and my last appointment I asked for a Hawaiian flower for our vacation, and I thought the artist did a great job. Nice massage chairs too. Highly recommend for a quality pedicure. read more

I'm EXTREMELY picky and expect GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE if I am spending over $100. Wow. This place has been top tier for me. As soon as you walk in the door they are extremely friendly and kind. Everyone can converse in English with you. They have all the nice colors and everything is so clean and organized. I never had a bad experience here. Got a pedicure on 11/26 in the evening. The nail tech kept digging into the sides of my big toe and cut way too deep. My nails had already been chipped due to a trip to Japan a week prior. I now have swelling on my big toe and while I have mild ingrown I have not felt it sore like this before. It better not turn into an infection. This staff needs better training and to stop obsessing over a particular area and know when to leave it alone. She then worked on my other foot and was able to cut off a large piece of my cuticle and placed it on my foot then looked at me with a smirk like she was pleased however I was just weirded out. The ladies were pretty nice. However I give a low rating because Got my nails done for Easter. Two of my nails popped off two hours after I got home. Two more within two days. Not sure if their applicator is old or whats going on but it most definitely wasn't worth a hundred dollars. read more

I had a really great experience here. I booked on class pass for a gel manicure, came in and decided to get dip so it was just $10 extra. Tina was wonderful. Great attention to detail and I'm extremely happy with how my nails turned out! Super clean nail spa and I really liked the atmosphere. All the ladies are very nice and helpful. Will definitely be coming back here and I recommend this spot to you if you're looking for a clean, good looking manicure! read more

This place has gone down in quality and service. I paid for a deluxe pedicure and another customer came in and the nail tech said she needed to soak off someone's nails and it would be 5 minutes. 30 minutes later, I am running out of time and I had to skip the massage and paraffin wax. They still charged me for a deluxe pedicure. This place used to be relaxing and excellent and now it's sub par. Been getting my nails done for 25 years, this is definitely not a relaxing experience or worth the cost. I made an appointment and it made zero difference. Also, their polish selection is poor. I asked for OPI and they used DND which is for gel nails and the paint job was streaky. read more

BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! They have DANGEROUS contaminated tools!!! I took My Mom there to get a manicure and it became a nightmare!!! I had to take her to John Muir ER in Walnut Creek where she was diagnosed with Paronychia of her left thumb. They had to drain her thumb due to the infection that was giving her so much pain, then give her cephalexin antibiotics. To top it off she got nail fungus on her other nails. They should close businesses like this that put people's lives in danger!!! read more

Overall I really enjoyed getting my nails done (dip) here, and they turned out great! However, I will say the one thing that was a bummer is I had an appointment at 1:30, and around 1:45 I asked when I'd be able to get in at which point they shared another 10-15 minutes. Thankfully they got me started 5 minutes later, however it can be a bit frustrating when you have plans for the day and scheduled this ahead of time. All in all, I have them a 4/5, especially because the nails came out so well! read more

HORRIBLE experience. Made an appointment to take my friend for her birthday. Show up on time, and we wait for THIRTY minutes before they see us. What's the point of an appointment then? My nails lasted just a few days before chipping and my friend got a bacterial infection that she ended up on antibiotics for. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

0 stars. 1 is given only so I could post. Highly do NOT recommend this place. The techs tried to PULL my acrylic off rather than using a drill and soaking to be gentle on the nail. I was in tears. So much that she once said, "I'll pull real quick so it won't hurt as bad." After that, the nails were painted, and I was told to sit at a table while they dried. No one ever spoke to me again until I got sick of waiting and got up to pay and leave. Worst nail salon I've ever been to. read more

I came here as a walk in. But it reminds me l should always check yelp first. They charged 90 dollars for a mani pedi with gel. I've never paid so much and I've been to much cleaner places. Staff was ok but they talked to each other the whole time. Not a good atmosphere. While l sat l thought oh well it will be cheap bc it's dirty in here cup holders are covered in sticky stuff and it's just run down and then she said 90 at check out. I couldn't believe it. Okay, I have been to the best AND the worst of salons. This one consistently surprises me with their excellent, but reasonably priced mani/pedis. If you are looking for a regular mani/pedi place in the East Bay that can keep up with the current trends - Galaxy is your place. Do not come here. Not only did the nail tech file my nails so thin they look like tooth picks but 3 nails were already lifting when I was sitting in the chair. When I asked her to fix them she simply put nail glue over the area and told me nothing was there. She then continued to file my nails so thin she rubbed the skin off of 4 fingers causing them to bleed and CONTINUED TO FILE OVER THE BLOOD. Here are two fingers that were cut by filing my skin over and over even after asking to stop AND 1 area where I clearly told her the nail was lifting and she said there was nothing there. Absolutely awful experience and will not be returning. read more

God awful. Do not come here. She CUT my foot. Everything was fine, until she went to scrub my foot and cut it with the nail filer board. The board she used was rectangle and wasn't rounded at the edges. She was doing the downward motions and all of a sudden I felt this big sharpe pain. I looked down and not only was my foot just cut, a CHUNK of my foot was gone. So I know everyone makes mistakes but this is why I was mortified and left completely upset and will never return. She tried to stop the bleeding and really didn't want me to look at it. After minutes of compressing and trying to stop the bleeding her advice was for me to stick my foot back in the water where my feet were originally soaking. Mortified! Not only is that disgusting but highly not safe for me from a medical standpoint. I had an open wound that wouldn't stop bleeding and is subjecting me fo bacteria filled water. No one offered me any kind of peroxide or alcohol to help clean my foot. Instead they handed me two Band-Aids and said you'll probably need this. I will never be back. read more

The best mani pedi I've had in a long time. Most places do very thick powder dip nails and this place made them look super natural. My pedi was also amazing. The lady did one toe first to see if I liked the color. When I said I wanted a lighter color she didn't get mad or make a comment to her coworkers. I'm giving this 2 stars because my pedicure was alright. My dip manicure however was not worthy of it's time and cost. I only came back here because i had a gift card but after this disappointing manicure I'll never return. I was left waiting 20 minutes for my manicure to be finalized while my manicurist started on a different client. I get that you're busy, but finish the job before starting a new one. I came here at little early for my appointment as requested. I was greeted and sat quickly. I made a reservation on my app called ClassPass. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. They have a great selection of colors. I picked red. Another lady name Kim came to do finish painting my manicure. She did such a great job. I loved how detail they are about the manicure and coat laying right. Another lady name Diane did my pedicure. I love their gel pedicures. They do such a good massage on your legs and use a bag I think she said it was wax but nice and warm. I loved it, felt relaxing. The place is clean and they are consistent with the customers little to no wait time. They even give massages while you are doing pedicure or manicure like neck arms area. Not quick ones either good one. They help each other out, one doing nails one doing feet it's like a constant go here. Quiet peaceful music. I will definitely return. If you are looking for an excellent nail technician, Lisa is it!! She has been doing my nails for years and never disappoints. She is careful and meticulous. I do gel manicures and they never chip, lift or peel. Lisa is patient in removing them as to not damage the nail bed. My nails don't get thin and rip as they have with other nail technicians. I understand that sometimes that has to happen when they're busy, but other than me there were 3 customers at the salon. It isn't relaxing, and it feels like they're just trying to get you out of the door as soon as possible. The lady who did my nails clearly had trouble sitting in a comfortable position next to the pedicure chair. She did not use the file on the inside of the nail extension before glueing them on and I'm sure that's the reason many of them started lifting off my nails after 2 days. They didn't properly grip onto my natural nails. There are several other nails that have a visible gap between my natural nail and the extension. A great breeding ground for trapping moisture and bacteria! The paint job was also pretty sloppy with polish all over my cuticles and she did not attempt use a small brush to correct it. The thumbs aren't even the same length or shape. I was pretty disappointed once I realized that. The pedicure felt great and looked wonderful at first, but the polish on my left pinky toe chipped 3 hours after I got home so now I got a brand new pedicure on only 9 toes. I'm pretty mad I spent $200 of my hard earned money on this just to spend more money to go elsewhere and have them redo it.

Not too pleased with my experience here. For the service and how my nails and toes looked after DeeDee was done with them, I could have paid a 5 year old to do them for me. I paid way too much. She was completely unprofessional and was asking inappropriate questions during my service, and was trying to push all the other services on me. She cut me TWICE with the nail file after I kept telling her to slow down and be careful. She would giggle uncontrollably after I would say something during conversation, making me very uncomfortable. My pedicure was not relaxing at all. The women across from me were getting shoulder and arm rubs!!! She barely rubbed my feet and legs!! I still had rough skin on my feet when I left. And I was so sad that I had the french polish on my toes, and one of them had smudged when she put my slippers on, so instead of repainting them, she just dabbed a bit of white polish to the corner and said I was done. It made a big bump of paint there and peeled the next day. I hate giving nasty reviews as I am a pretty laid back individual, but I am just so upset with spending $85 before tip for terrible work and service. I certainly wont be back. I hope others have better luck with this place. read more

I've been going to this spa since they opened and never had any complaint. Kathy was the one I used to see but after she left I see whomever is available...They all are very sweet and kind. My husband comes here for classic mani/pedi every other month and he loves it; I spoil myself to try different services each time from classic to special spa treatment depend whenever time I have. I feel safe here because they really sanitize the tools...even pay a little extra but very worth. Some of my girlfriends come here too and We have girl day spa once in awhile...They have no complaint so far either. I decided to write a review about this spa because I read someone's negative review and the picture caught my eyes...usually I have no time for reading this stuff but I don't want their business gets hurt; I feel a little defensive for them. Seven fingers out of 10 were cut and after 48 hours??? THat sounds a little hard to believe since that would have been something anyone would have noticed and reported before leaving the shop. It just seems a bit fishy, in my humble opinion. Anyway, I hope they can keep their good reputation and keep up the good work :) read more

There are so many things I love about this place- and so many things that drive me crazy!! It is always very clean and neat inside- that is not always the case at a nail salon. The finished job is usually beautiful and lasts (I get the gel, shellac whatever its called!) and they have a gal who does great brow waxing. It is not my go-to spot for waxing but if I am in a pinch I know she will do a great job and I can squeeze it in between my mani and pedi! My biggest complaint is the upsell! They are always trying to upsell me to where it gets a little (a lot!) annoying- I have even gone elsewhere on occasion just to avoid the badgering. They are also a lot pricier than most of the nail shops in the area, but as I mentioned earlier they are also cleaner and newer than most in the area which could warrants the rates. If only they would tone down the upsell I would make them my only nail shop (I get my nails done religiously every 2 weeks) but I often go elsewhere just to avoid the pestering for unnecessary add-ons. read more

Had an appointment that I scheduled through my groupon coupon, called to see about coming in a bit later.nthey asked my name and such and said sure no problem. However, when I got there they said sorry we can't take you because you have a coupon. And told me that I should have told them that I had a coupon!nif you ask for my name I would think you are looking up my previous appointment and know that I have a coupon! What happen to customer is always right?? Not to mention they had THREE ladies just standing around doing nothing. We are talking 4:30 and the place was not busy.just a horrible experience.ni am a busy mother of three and barley have time for myself. Coupon? I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Last Friday my husband & I decided to go for a spa treatment . We love to pampper ourselves; Who doesn't like that??? We've tried a few different nail spas in the areas and this is The Best so far! The place 's very elegant and clean. The entire staff was so friendly and did an awesome job for both of us. My husband had a very good massage after his mani/pedi were done. Overall, this is a very welcoming and inviting atmosphere. Its a little pricy but very worth it. I am literally the most picky person ever when it comes to getting a manicure. Truly. I have tried at LEAST 15 salons in the area & had issues with every one. Galaxy however, is amazing. I recommend Daisy; she is focused & as anal retentive as I am. I would've given 5 stars based on Daisy alone, but there is one woman who works here that is incredibly rude to me, consistently, & cracks rude jokes as if I'm not catching on to the fact that she's being facetious. If she left, Galaxy Nail Spa would be a 5 star Walnut Creek spot. Not to mention, the gentleman that works the front desk [& takes phone appointments] is literally the nicest person on the planet. I had such a great experience at Galaxy Nails! The place is super clean, relaxing, and the staff is incredibly friendly and professional. My nail technician (Tracy) took her time and paid close attention to details. My nails came out perfectly shaped and polished. I would have appreciated the honesty at the beginning because I would have looked up different inspirations pictures to meet their skill set. Instead what I'm left with are messy glitter nails with blue stripes. If you are looking for contemporary designs this is not the place. I'm very disappointed and sorry I wasted my time with something that should have been a pleasant experience.

They turned off the TV half way through so then it was completely silent and empty, except for the alarm that kept going off every 10 minutes. Poor technique all around: emery board on my skin. Very inconsistent and poor nail shaping (see photo). For 40 minutes a guy rubbed a sticky paste (the consistency of tooth paste) on the same place on my calves before I finally had to ask him to stop because it was irritating my skin. With 10 minutes left a woman hastily slapped on two coats of polish with no dry time and put my shoes on. I won't be back.
