As a kid (early to mid 80's) I remember "Dan" and I used to always come in for candy and their nice magazine selection. I'm not sure when "Dan" sold the business off as I didn't come in for a good decade for school and work reasons, but I never even knew ownership changed hands until I noticed a different staff and look inside. The new owners kept pretty much everything (even the name and original awning), but inside now looks more spacious and cleaner than what it used to be. There's a lot of little things inside such as your basic small hygiene products, snacks, cards, cigarettes, candy, and still a decent enough magazine selection. They sell metro cards here and have the lottery business. Owners and employees have always been friendly to me. Parking is not good, as Yonkers Avenue is metered and this is a busy area. There are a lot of double parkers as well. Local street parking is much harder now due to the Casino patrons parking on the blocks causing residents to have to use permits on their own streets now. There is a municipal parking lot a block away. Great for locals however. While there are competitors within walking distance, I still come here if need be due to reliability and convenience. So many businesses have come and gone over the years, but it's nice to see a familiar location still standing - even if it's no longer the same owner.

We purchased two 4-packs and brought them back to CT to give them a try. 60 gauge Dominican Maduros with a wide open draw and fairly loose wrap. For a house cigar this has solid flavor, sweeter, and medium strength with an incredible amount of smoke output. Foot smoke is off the charts. Burn was clean and ash white and stacked well. Not complex but a solid smoke. We will definitely be back for more at $4-$5 per stick. Great job gentlemen - well done!!
