Last night I had the cashier tell me I couldn't have the stated senior discount because the transaction had gone through (used a card) and it was too late to go back and give me that advertised promised discount. Thanks for nothing Pearl. Stay away from this store if you can. Pioneer market in South Bend is far superior. This Thriftway has totally lost my business due to that percentage of lazy, thieving, incompetent staff working there.

I came here during a week long solo break to Aberdeen WA, and I found the store to be well-stocked…read moreand clean.  I needed drinking water, which eventually added chips and dips, which eventually added a few bottles of wine to help with the cold weather.  The store is very much arranged like all the other Safeway locations so finding things will be a breeze if you're a Safeway's regular.  If not, the aisle signs will guide you to what your needs are... The staff are nice and knowledgeable about the aisle contents.  The girl I asked was even nice enough to walk me straight to the aisle and location where the item was!  (The advantage of having white hairs...old person vibe...I have to help him and get my good deed for the day done and over with!) And checkout was a breeze as well.  We came in at a time when the store was near empty, but still had three cashiers open for checking out.  Reminds me of New Zealand where three people in line at the checkout is too crowded, so they open more! If you're in the area, get your shopping done here...great place, reasonable price...

The shopping carts are pushed way in the back at the front of the store. Senior people with walkers…read morehave a hard time getting them and turning around, especially when someone else is getting one at the same time. Customers are not on the top of their list. I've seen employees of the store just walk around doing the shopping thing for someone else and literally walk around some smashed fruit on the floor. Check out is horrible. Those digital coupons that you clip on your phone, a lot of the time don't give you the sale price, and other in store products as well. You have to be on your toes when checking out to watch for these things. Not a good experience. Why are some of the deals just for home delivery or pickup on the weekly ad? Inquiring minds want to know.

There is a parking lot and street parking available and a nice park across the street where we had a little picnic with what we bought. This store is obviously central to the community as we saw families and police officers and older folks all here shopping for their needs. Some prices were a bit high but there is not much else around to choose from so this is your best bet for fresh and local if you're in the area.

They wont allow you to 'fix' while in line, you have to go stand in a long line with one overworked customer svc person, and its a major hassle, especially if you're popsicles are thawing. I am an astute shopper - I'm expert on using their app, clipping their coupons, reading the ads before I shop, etc., and to boot I worked grocery early in my long career. These were genuine errors. We've had to endure a near year-long revamp of the store, its nearly finished, and I've yet to to see ANYWHERE any improvement in the experience. Its mind boggling how much money they spent to achieve NOTHING. When I was a checker, they came out with the most efficient way to process items; customer puts product on belt, the employee scans it and puts it right in the shopping bag. Boom, handled once! Super efficient! A few years ago some idiot with no clue how checkstands operate came up with the bright idea of having the checker scan it, put it on another belt, where another employee bags it. Handled TWICE. And this store NEVER has 1:1 checker/bagger. Today there were FIVE checkers, and ONE bagger. Fred Meyer continues its increasing abuse of plastic. Too many instances to write here.

It's much more a deli than a grocery store- not a dig, just the truth. I arrived around 1pm and they had a steady stream of people ordering smoothies and deli items. They have a fun mix of locally made crafts, some organic food items and some weird art. Truly an original mix! But the most important things - the place was clean. The bathroom was clean. The employees were clean and exceptionally friendly and attentive. And most importantly - the food was soooo good!! I had the veggie wrap grilled (because I'm in an endless search for good vegetarian food to eat on the go) and omg was it good. The perfect mix of crispy and fresh veggies, just enough sauce without being overpowering. The wrap itself was delicious, flavorful and super fresh tasting. Cute, as expected decor and some random touristy things. A very basic selection of food and some fresh produce, which given the setting did not look bad at all (honestly, giving Safeway a run for their quality money) And the best part - the staff. You can tell their og to the area and proud of it. I love that!
