Eowyn's last day. What a going away party. :)

GALILEO, WE MISS YOU! Anuja, Cathe, Jessica, April, Cassie, Krystal, RoseMarie, Jaqueline, Hilda (who am I forgetting?) -- these teachers and staff are second to none. My daughter went to Galileo all the way from Room 1 to Room 3. She came out of Galileo at age 4.5 as a curious, confident, happy, social kid who also had an incredible academic foundation to build on going forward. She was counting to 100 by 10s, writing sentences, adding and subtracting, expressing herself well, applying logic to problems, working in teams, reading a few words, and most important - she had a love for learning new things, while also feeling loved herself. The teachers and admins made life incredibly easy on the parents. Terrific communication all the way around -- from quick afterschool chats if needed, to weekly email updates and photos to monthly newsletters, progress reports, and fun community events. The school itself is clean and well-organized. It feels like a warm, family-focused place right when you walk in the door. Of course it doesn't hurt that Miss Cathe is usually right there saying good morning to everyone with a huge smile or a hug. :) Sometimes you don't know how great your school is until you can contrast it again something else. We moved from San Jose to Marin earlier this year and sadly had to leave Galileo before our daughter could finish out Room 3 with them. We checked out six preschools in our new neighborhood before deciding on one, and it's just not the same on so many levels. The teachers in the new school are amazed by the things our kid has already learned -- so much so that our daughter spends a lot of her time teaching the other kids! (Which is not a bad thing; sometimes teaching what you know is a terrific way to increase your own understanding of it). On our last day at Galileo, everyone in Room 3 students and teachers alike, each wrote a little letter to our daughter describing their favorite things about her. I was so touched to see how well they all knew her and loved her, and my daughter felt like a hero for days to come (which was important during the strain and loneliness of a relocation). Anuja and team: You guys are the best. Thank you for teaching and loving Eowyn. We miss you!

Hi, When does your school year start and end?

Hi Stacey! We are open year around, but our school year officially starts in late August and ends in early June. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello, what is the age group?

Galileo Preschool serves students 2 to 5 years old. Thanks for asking!

Hello we are buying a house in the area, how much is waiting list for a 2 yr old toddler at ur place? Thanks

Hi Nikita! Thank you for your interest in Galileo Preschool for your child. In 2016, we moved to a lottery system in order to give families an equal chance for enrollment. We hold the lottery every January for the following school year. In order to…

They have been attentive to my children and flexible with our needs. My children were not the easiest and they were willing to work with us and try out different things. Here, children are taught to be be kind to each other, and to share, praise, uplift each other, and be accountable for solving problems. Praise, sticker charts, and time away (breaks) are used to help children learn skills or reflect on their behaviors. Children have access to the giant yard, which allows for outdoor classes, picnics, and learning about nature. I liked how the area was also mostly shaded. There are many different toys, sensory items, and games available for children to engage with daily. I am always greeted warmly by staff and can see that they truly love children and adore them as if they were their own. They capture precious photos to share with parents. I can easily communicate by phone, text, email, or through the ProCare app and receive a quick response. I have visited many sites and decided on this one because the facilities felt comfortable, modern, clean, and spacious. Their tuition is also reasonable for the area. Parking is steps to the classroom and is always available making it convenient and safe. The preschool is located inside next to a church away from any main roads and is gated. My family will miss the CAPS team very much as they are truly a gem. They provide a quality program and develop children by preparing them how to socialize and operate in structured and unstructured environments.

Being on the spectrum and dealing with quite a bit of a speech delay, he had struggled for years to find a daycare or pre-school that was the right fit for him. When we did the initial tour, Ms. Rachel and Ms. Laura exuded so much warmth that we immediately felt welcome within the CAPS community. We were so hopeful, but still a little anxious about our son fitting in, so we started with 2 days a week. He immediately took to Ms Nansi in the T-K Tigers classroom. She embraced him with so much love and patience and built that trust with him very early on. He also built a wonderful relationship with his other teacher Ms Emma who was often the one to provide us with his report during pickup. From the first week on, we knew he was in wonderful hands and he began making friends immediately. I think it speaks volumes when your child jumps out of bed with excitement to go to school. 10/10 would recommend Carter Ave!

Creative Beginnings is truly the best preschool you can ask for, and specifically with my neurodivergent son, he has progressed and accomplished so much in thanks to the hard work of his teachers and the director. His life would honestly not be the same if he hadn't attended this school for the last 3 years. In fact, his private speech therapist told me that this is the best school she's ever been to. Aside from the accommodations and support they provided my son, I'm amazed at how much our tuition gave us: kung fu, soccer, music teachers visited on a weekly basis, a low student teacher ratio, field trips, and so much more. I think the mix of structure (weekly lesson plans for each class) and free play is perfect for kids as well. I also want to note that the teacher turnover is very low, and most of the main teachers have been there for many many years. In addition to just being a warm, welcoming place, my son also thrived academically here. His school district assessment showed that he is on track academically for kindergarten, thanks to the hard work of his teachers.

Classroom size's seem spacious, the playground is insanely big, facilities seem fine, but need updating. I don't think I'd gel with the director's personality, she seems a bit picky and difficult, like for example if I had my feedback or concerns to be shared or say my kid doesn't have a good day, I would find myself likely debating with her, as she seems quite black and white but that is my feeling and my gut is usually right. Lots of indian children in this school, an observation. It is home based but they really designed it as a center. Overall, meh, for the price I found better places.

It feels there are many kids that are in different levels and they all get embraced wonderfully ensuring each one reaches their full potential. It didn't feel like any kid was singled out. They also do a good job in mixing the younger children with the older one's during class at times and lunch, just to give kids opportunity to work on social interaction. The school has an amazing spacious playground and they also have updates through their brightwheel app. All and all a quality place to send your kids. She navigated our son's transition from preschool into structured reading, writing, and math with such skill and warmth that he never hit a wall - he just grew. The curriculum is a big part of why. Subject-based teaching starts in Kindergarten, with each teacher bringing real depth in their area, plus early exposure to foreign languages and robotics so the foundation is far richer than a typical kindergarten. The low teacher-student ratio ties it together. His teachers actually know him - not just his reading level, but where he stalls and where he races ahead so the academics are genuinely tailored to him rather than paced to a class average. As Louise said, the teachers here always spend all their time playing with the babies, helping them practicing crawling or walking and showing them many new activities that they would probably never experience otherwise. Most of the stuff our daughter was doing was well documented and we received new pictures of her very frequently which always made my day at work so much better. The teachers often prepared various new materials for babies to play with and it was always a lot of fun to observe how they reacted to the new sensory experiences. I also liked the design of the infant room that encouraged our girl to crawl and to stand up and cruise. I'm quite sure that if she didn't attend this daycare, these milestones would take her much longer to reach. As for the teachers, when I picked up our girl, I sometimes staid a little longer to play with her and what I observed was a loving environment where all babies were well cared of and if some of them was fussy the teachers always tried to comfort the baby the best they could. One thing I know for sure is that all babies there loved the teachers a lot (especially Ms. Kahea).

Very expensive in comparison to other daycares. They are a franchise so they are very well structured but lacks warmth. Talking to the teachers and staff, they are very professional but lacks sincerity. The moment I told them I'm taking my son out and gave them the 1 month notice I could tell the front staff attitude was different. Teachers are good however, but it seems like they don't get much say in how they want to teach their kids since it is a franchise.
