Being a private school you expect more, because each child is so profitable from the monthly income they bring into the school, they will keep a bully vs removing them. Both of my children were bullied, the principal would tell me it will be talked about every time I came for help to protect my child. The bullying continued, so bad my children had to be forced to go to school to not get behind as they felt they endured mental abuse. The rate at which students are leaving this school for another school is high. The principal allows the best students to leave by not addressing the problem students. Every student causing problems can stay and persist in problems rather than being removed permanently as the parents talk in groups about how everyone pulls from the school because the principal is allowing the problem students to maintain bullying. My son now has to be removed from the school because he is crying himself to sleep. the child harassing him has been allowed to do so the entire year no change only empty promises. If your child is harassed, you'll be forced to leave because the harasser will never be asked to leave. Shameful

The school offers great after school programs and our daughter has had exposure to in-depth art class, music glass, ballet, sports, etc. The unexpected benefit beyond all of this has been the learnings available to parents. My husband and I have enjoyed several opportunities to learn more about the Montessori approach to learning and spent several classes on positive discipline, much of which we have applied to our home. It has been an absolute joy to watch the person our 4 year-old is becoming in her first year here. You can feel how much teachers and administrators care about their role in the kids' lives. This keeps them from having to send in the am to a daycare, have him transported to school, picked up by the daycare at school and transported back. I originally became interested in Sage because my daughter left 6th grade at Christine Donnell School of the Arts (a charter school in Meridian Joint District 2) and entered Lake Hazel Middle School as a 7th grader. Lake Hazel is so overcrowded that I felt that the curriculum wasn't being taught very efficiently - my daughter wasn't being challenged. In addition to that issue, the overcrowding was obnoxious to the point of severe frustration and anger. (But that's a whole different review). So, Sage attracted my attention because of the small class sizes and challenging curriculum. It has been wonderful! Sage is a school where a student can really push his or herself. My daughter is in 8th grade, but most of her classes are combined with 9th graders, and she's in 10th grade advance math. Not to brag, but it's nice to have the option of moving ahead if you're smart enough. By staying challenged and pushing herself, I know that she's not getting into trouble. In addition, Sage doesn't have a gym. instead they go out into the community for Urban PE. The also don't have a library, but instead take walking field trips as often as needed to the city library (conveniently located in their neighborhood). This has helped my somewhat shy daughter become more comfortable in an urban (yes, I know it's not Seattle or LA) environment. I did take off one star because they don't offer traditional sports programs. My daughter plays soccer and runs cross country, but Sage doesn't get out until after 4pm (they have longer hours, but then no school on Friday's). Because of their longer hours, my daughter can't even participate in sports at another school - she can't get there early enough for practices or games/meets. There are work arounds of course. She has been able to play soccer in a community league and Sage has implemented a lunch time running club. I also took off a star because Sage only offers French. I feel like the reality is that we live in a country where a huge percentage of the population speaks Spanish and it should at least be an option. The work around has been to take Spanish during school hours with the IDLA system. It's not ideal. She is an advanced Spanish student and was forced to take beginning Spanish this year, as you have to start IDLA at the beginning, but at least its something. Sage also has an Elementary/Middle school. It's at a different location, on Parkcenter Blvd. They just opened the new campus this years, having taken over the old Parkcenter Mall location.

We paid $10 for my 3 year old and $12 for our 8 year old, affordable for so much fun! And that's for all day not for 1-2 hours of play. They had a winter break camp going on, there was about 10 kids who were being watched by 3 adults who worked there, we thought that was a cool option for local families. They have drinks and snacks and we also really appreciated that! I asked for a Flat White and it was actually delicious! Bridget was the one working the front desk, drinks and snacks yesterday and she is really awesome! Very sweet with great people skills! The play area was also clean, they must wipe things down pretty good every day. The only cons are when you first walk in the first door for entry, the small walk through room smells heavily like chlorine with a hint of mildew, like you're about to walk into an indoor pool. Also, the bathrooms looked like a daycare bathroom, out of toilet paper, toilet paper on the ground and no towels to dry your hands. Im sure they have their hands very full during times they have camps where they are watching a lot of kids. Someone going in and checking the bathroom once an hour should fix that. And lastly, we forgot to bring water with us for our kids, they don't sell water bottles and they don't have filtered water. They do have 2 water fountains for the kids but I don't let my kids use water fountains. Next time we'll be sure to have our waters with us. Thank you Bodies In Motion, our kids had a great time!

But when the receptionist pressed for a reason, I calmly explained that it simply wasn't a good fit for my family. Her response? She told me my 3-year-old daughter was "too sensitive." That was not only completely unprofessional, but also incredibly inappropriate. I wasn't asking for feedback. I was trying to protect my child from an environment where the teacher was far too serious for a toddler and clearly not the right match. Swimming should be fun, especially at this age. Period. Overall, we're frustrated with both the lack of results and the poor customer service.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. We have a child who just turned 3 years old in June that we enrolled at Northwest Montessori in August 2025. He had been potty trained for about 2 months before we started but with the change, completely regressed. But we were working on it, asking the teachers for guidance on how to handle it, etc. Our child came home telling me one day that his teachers (Miss Rebecca and Miss Beverly) wouldn't let him play at the station he liked because he had an accident (pooped his pants). But I just thought maybe that's just how a 3 year old tells stories... But then yesterday, I got a call from the school. He had another accident. Now we have extra clothes at the school and in the past the teachers have helped him get cleaned up and change his clothes. This was actually something we SPECIFICALLY asked about during our tour (how accidents would be handled, if they would help with wiping since he's still learning, etc and we were told oh, yes absolutely). Then yesterday I got a very rude call from their "director" Debbie who was angry that my child had another potty accident. She was not kind or apologetic but actually snapped "it's not the teacher's job to do this" ... But this "montessori" has 1 year olds as well. So they are a daycare. They change diapers. They had actually mentioned moving him down a class if we needed to when we started but that was as close as they ever came to working with us to find a good solution. *** And when we enrolled, we specifically asked about this and they said they would make him put on his own clothes but they would help clean him up. She then told me that I needed to come pick him up. When I got there, he was pulled out of his room and sitting in a chair, sitting in his own poop. His clean clothes were literally on the floor next to him that they refused to help him with. Because they were mad that he had an accident, they decided to punish him by making him sit in his poop. Three grown women thought it was appropriate to punish a three year old for a bathroom accident by making him sit with a turd in his pants until I could get there (and btw she initially left me a voicemail so they had no idea how long it would take me to get there or to even get their message).

When…read morewe were moving out to Boise, mid-pandemic, it was hard to navigate getting our son in school in a place that we had no real parent network in place. At the recommendation of a colleague, we looked into Northview and we could not be happier. After months of hard-to-navigate online pre-k programs back home, we enrolled our son in the in-person program at Northview mid-year. The teachers and staff were patient, attentive and showed extra care in getting our son situated and back in the "groove" of attending school. We kept our son there over the summer, where they did an amazing job balancing active play and lots of outdoor time, with the right amount of learning to stave off the summer learning loss. Now, our guy is in Miss. Debbie's kindergarten class and we are so impressed, seriously... she is a child-whisperer. Patient, understanding, calm, smart, creative and loving. Miss. Debbie does a wonderful job setting up her curriculum to incorporate many Montessori principles while also preparing students to enter into 1st grade in a more traditional setting. Added bonus, the before and after school care that is still developmentally stimulating and fun! The size, access, communication and flexibility of the staff make this school a working parent's dream! Finally, while I know people are in many different places when it comes to things like COVID policies and masking, I appreciate the thought and care that Northview takes in constantly reviewing the latest guidance and working on ways to keep students and their families safe. For me, this has provided incredible piece of mind. In a time of a lot of change and chaos, Northview has been one of the absolute best things we've found in moving to Boise and we will forever be grateful for the foundational love of learning they have helped to spark in our son.

As an Acton Academy, Heroes encourages every child to think and behave like a hero, not a victim, while embarking on a self-growth journey. They encourage every family and child to be proactive, begin with the end in mind, to hold themselves and others accountable and to high standards. It's a place where children discover their own passions, gifts and begin to lead meaningful and purposeful lives. I have seen incredible growth in all 4 of our children over the last 2 years while attending Heroes Academy. They have developed real life skills such as how to have a meaningful conversation with an adult; how to fail and get back up again; how to speak in front of a large crowd; how to begin finding a passion or start a small business, all without our help. If you're worried that your child isn't actually learning much by completing so many assignments, doing homework each day, taking tests and getting 'good' grades in the assembly line of a traditional public education system, then Heroes Academy might be great for your family.
