I blew a tire nearby, found this place online and called. A woman answered and said they could see me right away. Took them a bit to realize they weren't gonna be able to fix the tire and it would need to be changed. They asked if I wanted new or used. I asked for whatever was in stock. They said they had a used tire for me. They came back and said the used tire wouldn't work and they had to order a new one and it would take an hr. They actually sent someone to go pick it up. My car was done in about 50 mins. Cost me $178 for the tire and labor for my Mazda 3. read more

Overpriced HACK. Took vehicle here for an issue running rough. Had check engine light, my scanner said it was the intake VVT Actuator. Any mechanic who knows anything knows two things: with these actuators, when you replace one, you replace ALL; and on most Nissan 4 cylinder engines, there's 3, one for intake, two for exhaust. The code was for intake, he replaced ONE exhaust actuator. He gives this HUGE speech about how he's been in business for 40 years and how he's so trusted in the whole state, so trusted that he has the state police fleet, starts hamming up his mechanics' "experience", etc etc. First of all, his "experienced" mechanics only replaced ONE of three actuators, and they replaced an exhaust actuator when the code called for the intake. They cleared the code, so the car ran fine for one day, until the sensors came back on and found the fault in the exhaust actuator again, then the car went back to limp mode and stalling. I call him, he tells me it's a defective part, bring it back in and he'll replace it. Again, replaces it and doesn't touch the actual problem, the intake actuator. The car has been tied up here for a week now, including the two days to replace the "defective" part. I get it back, he guarantees, GUARANTEES me everything is all set. I drive the car 500 feet down the road to the light at CVS, car stalls out, in traffic. This man charged $500 for a part and labor that's under warranty, and didn't even fix the problem, all while stroking his tiny little "ego" talking about how incredible his shop is. I ended up using my AAA to tow it to my mechanic, who doesn't do warranty work, and paid $150 total for parts and labor. Galindas is a scab, that's the bottom line. He'll rip you right off with a huge smile on his face and a "guarantee" that the problem has been fixed. Scum. read more

Do not bring your car here to have it repaired!! I brought my car here because it was having a problem starting and with the idle. The owner assured me I was in great hands and that he had been in business for "over 40 years" I got a call that the car is all set to be picked up. Car makes it less than a mile down the road before it stalls out. I bring it back to the shop. He tells me that the part that was replaced was faulty and assured me again that they would fix it. Second time I am told that the car is all set I get in the car, It will not even stay running!! It kept stalling out. Needless to say, I had to have my car towed to another mechanic to actually get it fixed, and was out the money I had given to this poor establishment and "business owner of over 40 years " Save yourself the money and headaches!!!! read more

I had a nail in my tire, and needed to get it out today!! I called four different places this morning to see if they would take me today.. Two didn't answer the phone, both being big names for tire places, and other two couldn't take me today. I called Galinda's aka Cumberland tire. The man that answered the phone was nice, and before I could even say "can you take me if I come today?" He said come now! We will take care of you right away. Not only did the man that answered the phone welcome me when I drove up, but also followed through like he said. $15 later and within 15 minutes, I drove away from Cumberland Tire a happy girl!! I felt grifted. I would highly recommend not doing business here. I needed a state inspection, the first shop had a 2 hour wait so I called the next shop available from google maps. Galinda's promised to see me right away as they weren't busy, so I drove right over there. They didn't start my inspection for 40 minutes because the mechanic was 'having his coffee' according to the employee at the front desk. During that hour I was able to read more into their 4 out of 5 star google review average read some of their 1 star customer reviews. Next, I initially failed my 2020 inspection for brake pads, rotors, and wipers, which surprised me because I keep my car in good condition. I told the shop I didn't understand the failure and was told 'you use your brakes'. Due to poor customer service and the negative reviews I read, I went to another shop for my repairs to pass inspection. At the other shop they told me that the car should not have failed RI state inspection for breaks because the state standard is that you only fail if you are less than 1/32nd (0.3 mm) of an inch, and I had 3 to 4mm left of my brake pads. My wipers were actually low, but that would have been $60 and 30 minutes, not an entire day. I lost an entire workday in the office, paid for 2 uber rides ($30) and I spent $393 on brake repairs that I did not need yet. I choose to do the work the same day instead of fighting the failure because I don't want to miss multiple workdays to contest the failure in person at DMV Cranston and then re-inspect. That day, after repairs, l re-inspected at Galinda's Automotive Service Inc. and they passed me in about 3 minutes. I brought up my concern about the height of my old break pads, which I brought with me, and they said take it up with the DMV. read more

I have never experienced anything like this when it comes to Car garage.. first of All the Manager (Dan) treats you like if you are going there for free, no manners , no respect, no customer service at All. besides his rudeness, he said to tow the car , three days later, I called for status he replied we ll call you and hangs up on me , when I call right to try to get at a date , he yielded at me and hanged up again .. this is our second time there before and it is always same so why we have to put up with this management nonsenses... this place sucks .. not courtesy , not efficient.. totally deceiving read more

Stopped in today for my car's every-two-year Rhode Island State inspection. My registration is current but I left the current paperwork at home. Instead of sending me away, the manager called the DMV and asked if he could inspect with an expired registration. He could. I waited 30 minutes and the car was done. They replaced a broken taillight for a modest $6. A very professional operation. In business for 40 years. I highly recommend them. read more

It was the worst experience I ever had. I bring my car for a inspection at 11.48 am and the owner told me that every one was going to lunch and they will be back 1:30 PM I Went back to work., went I came back I spooked to the receptionist and she told me tha will take no more that 15 minutes. And to bring the keys and the registration. I came back and she get up to help me and he yell at her told her to pay attention to him. The when she finish with him she grabs my keys and registration. I waited 45 minutes, during that time a nother customer came for the rejection that he gave him, to be taking care of. He told the rest of us that he gave him a rejection and he wanted to get alot of money for the work, and he bring his car to another place and they charge him more that half of what he was charging him?. then I pleased ask the owner after I waited 45 minutes, how much time it will take, he look at me and told me that if i wanted i can get my keys and come back went i have more time! I THENT GOT UPSET and went inside his shop and told him that I will take his suggestion. The he got more mad and said it will take 5 more minutes and to pay the receptionist. They don't take credit cards or checks. I hat to wall almost a 1/2 mile to the Santander back on broad st. To get the cash. Went I came back waite another 5 minutes to get his attention. He rejected my sticker and gave me a list of thinks that need to fo to pass the inspection Suppricely the light of the plates that I check the day before was Burn.?
