For a small local theater company, Gallery Players rocks. I have seen two productions here and both were very professional, with great sets and good acting. The theater itself is very small and intimate, and with the exception of a few of what appear to be partially obstructed view seats, there isn't a bad seat in the house. My only complaint is that it can get very hot inside.

I'm going to the theatre!! I love performance arts. I saw "The Tempest" a play by William Shakespeare as the power of one here. A small but intimate theatre easily located in Brooklyn that offers quality performance arts. Gallery Players is located at 199 14th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215 (between 4th and 5th Avenues) in Park Slope of four blocks south of the 4th Avenue/9th Street (F, G, R) subway station. Alternatively can be reached by buses B37, B61, B63, and B103. Light concessions are available to purchase before the show and during intermission (cash only). The House Manager was informative to theater patrons prior to the production of exit locations, silencing cell phones and tech gadgets, concessions, facility locations, and the standard "no photography, videography, or recording of any kind is permitted." Gallery Players have a full list of productions throughout the theater season. My major negative comment is their very weak air conditioning in conjunction with the poor ventilation as I came here on a hot humid July Sunday afternoon. I felt very warm and uncomfortable during the entire two hour performance production. The stage floor appears rather dirty as it was never mopped or wiped. Facilities are relatively clean and located on the second floor. This theater is not fully accessible as there is no elevator and no wheelchair ramp. The theater, performance arts, museums, world travel, dining out, scrapbooking, wine, Yelp, poetry readings, books, open mics are my kingdoms of joy as the loneliness never bothered me anyway. Purchasing tickets can be done via Gallery Players's website: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/cal/104 I am enamored with their online production calendar as it gives a visual to make plans and schedule events revolving my life. The site forces patrons to create an account in order to return in the future as there is no option to purchase ticket without creating a account. The date before the production I received a helpful email reminder of the event with the date, time, location address and specific mass transit travel directions, suggested arrival time before the start of performance and no photography permitted. Most Broadway theaters do not provide reminder emails the day before the event, but Gallery Players do which is unique and distinguish from the standard. When purchasing tickets from their website I receive a "order confirmation" but not an actual e-ticket. I am always enamored with printed tickets or etickets as it serves a memory that I attended and seen a production performance to be included in my shoe box collection. The order confirmation is exactly a paid invoice similar to Amazon.com's invoice when placing orders/purchases - another negative aspect. A convenience charge of $2.75 is automatically applied for online e-ticket purchase, also another negative aspect, which is slightly less than large third party performance ticketing as Ticketmaster.com.

Location wise, The Gallery Players can be a blessing or a curse depending on where you live. But for a small fee ($18) the commute is well worth the time as this theater will prove itself as a top contender among quality shows that you think you'll only find in the city. I've came here twice to see "Oliver Twist" and "The Little Dog Laughed" and both time my experience was absolutely amazing!! Given the fact that this intimate theater is located in the basement of an elementary school, the production was anything but. In fact, the stage was very well designed and the actors were surprisingly talented and captivated the audience's attention. It's general seating so it's pretty much first come first serve, but being that this is a small theater any seating will suffice especially since the distant between actors and audience isn't much. Personally, I prefer it this way because when I was there, it allowed me to really see the subtle expressions that I would normally not see on a larger scale. All in all, this small production company is a definitely must as it delivers ongoing top notch seasonal shows that are memorable and that are seriously well put together.

Small company that shows off-broadway musicals. We went there to see Next to Normal- it was a very intimate experience. It was full yet we were around 80 ppl. I'd highly recommend Next to Normal and the tickets are $18 per show.

I would pace myself though because after all it's called a drinking game for a reason. If you're hungry, there's a spot in the main area where someone heats up frozen Table87 pizzas which isn't the best quality but when you've had a few beers and are starving, these pizzas are a godly.

I most recently saw them at Brooklyn Bazaar; the group tends to shuffle around shows between there, Union Hall, and Bell House. definitely a blast to experience. get on their mailing list or social media pages to find out their next shows.

But on normal weeknights, it's totally doable to walk in, grab a drink, and play without any stress. It's very laid-back in the best way. Downstairs, they host comedy shows and other performances, which makes it such a fun multipurpose hangout. People usually grab a drink and chill upstairs while waiting for their show to start, and it creates this really nice, social energy without feeling chaotic. Overall, Union Hall is a quaint neighborhood staple, great drinks, fun games, and a little bit of that old-school local charm. Perfect for a casual night out or something a little different from the usual bar scene.

The choreography was terrible because it seemed like the dances were made up on the spot except for one of the dancers who seemed to have a dancing background but not even that could save this show that was overly-priced. I wish I could ask for my $45 back but at last, this was a lesson to me to not go to anything that doesn't have any reviews because I have a feeling that they would have been all one-stars. The theater itself was very disorganized and had chairs set very closely to each other in what was the orchestra area. The stage itself looked like it belonged in a middle school and the balcony sets were too close to one another. There was barely a story line, the dancers were "meh" and Dracula.. Ill leave it at that. The venue wasn't the most organized but the staff was friendly/pleasant. The poor rating is mostly for the show, not the theater.

She didn't come with me, she merely put the session within reach and nudged me along my way. I'm so glad she did because it was such a unique enjoyable experience! For a cool $60 puppet (and a whole bunch of Muppet) enthusiasts get together for an afternoon of learning how to sculpt a puppet from foam. This idea may sound simple enough, but it includes sturdy foam blocks, knives of various sizes, scissors, sand paper, permanent markers, pastels, and some creativity on behalf of each participant. Come with an idea (a photo or sketch) in mind and Kevin (the master artist and creative director) expertly guides you through the rest. The session is slated for 3.5 hours, but time flies when you're having fun! In fact, I would have preferred another hour with time to decorate my creation - being able to add fur, hair, etc. would have been a bonus. However, I'm confident I can spruce up my Jersey girl puppet BrookeLynne with an old Snookie Halloween wig and some false eyelashes. I'm strongly considering going to another session and being a little more creative with what I sculpt. The animals all turned out fantastically! Go. Register for a workshop now.

I asked to have my payment put towards a future class over the phone. The person I spoke with did not seem to get what I was saying and ended the call. I emailed Lone Wolf instead and explained that I'd like to re-schedule. After a day I received a reply stating that I would not be able to re-schedule and that they had a no re-fund policy. I stated that I didn't want a refund, I just wanted the services I already paid for and wanted to schedule a future class. I was told that Lone Wolf had tried re-scheduling in the past and that it was a "Problem" for them, I was offered a discount of $15 on a future class. I asked how they can remember me and give me a discount but they couldn't remember that I'd already paid? It ended with me not getting a class scheduled and being out $65. Nowhere on their website does it state that you cannot re-schedule a class. Only that you can't get a refund. Big difference. In their defense, I canceled late so they could not fill the spot I left. In my defense, I booked that spot late the day before, so that spot wasn't getting filled anyway and they still had my money if I went or not. So buyer beware: If you have an emergency and can't make this class you can kiss your money goodbye.
