Behind a gas station, a block from my hotel, lay this jewel of a convenience store. It's the epitome of a small town store and I loved it. They display a bunch of unique snacks and food, in addition to a plethora of wines, beer and champagne. But the real gem is the case at the front of the store next to the register that holds the HUGE homemade truffles. I did not get a picture of them all because I ate them too quickly, but I got the banana split, the pb fudge, strawberry something or other and they all were fantastic. I went back to bring some home with me. Would go back solely for these truffles. read more

The Gallery Stores and Marina is a shop on the waterfront in New Bern, NC. They have lots of different items for sale in this store. If you are into local gourmet foods you should definitely stop by and check them out. Things I noticed, many different wines, jams, jellies, gourmet popcorn, and bbq sauces. And if you are thirsty but do not want alcohol, they've got that covered too. I purchased an all natural energy drink which wasn't bad. I didn't purchase much in this store, but browsed as there was so much to see! It was well organized and clean. read more

The older woman working here with short white hair, truly, needs to be in any type of work OTHER than customer service. We were visiting friends in New Bern and decided to stop here before dinner as it looked like they had some cute things to buy as a small gift or wine for our friends. My husband sent me in to check things out and grab something for them, and I decided to stop at the restroom first. I'm currently pregnant, so my bladder doesn't totally love waiting on a restroom for obvious reasons. A girl in front of me in line walked in to the restroom, and I checked the mens to see if it was potentially unlocked to be used instead of a line forming. The woman at the counter yelled "That's the mens bathroom!!" all the way from the counter. I proceeded to ask her if there was a toilet or just a urinal, to which she replied "uh yeah but it's the MENS". She then proceeded to run her mouth to a local customer at the counter, where I could hear her, about how we needed to go find a public restroom down there street. Lady, I'm not trying to gender mix your bathroom. I just am pregnant and had to pee. I was going to snag some wine for our friends at this establishment, but decided this place was barely worth my urine and definitely worth $0.00 of my money. We went down the street to another store instead. When we told our friends who are local about what happened, they told us this lady is notorious for being the bitter, old lady at this store. Truly it's sad the business owner lets her interact with customers. Glad we didn't spend a dime here. read more

If you are expecting a hello, a smile or even an acknowledgement, this is not the place to stop. I went inside to inform the cashier that pump 2's screen was broken. She said "I know" .... I said "may put a sign up so people don't stand in the pouring rain trying to get it to work" .... Blank stare I asked if management was aware. She said I think so. She went in to tell me there's nothing she could do about it.... (hint- put a sign up) I told a gentleman as I left that the pump was broken and he was wasting his time. read more

The Galley Store now has a coffee bar and the barista is the best in town. A nice little store with just about everything you need and close by. An excellent selection of wine and beer. They meet you with a smile. read more

The marina is really nice. Newer floating docks, 50a connections (no 30a so bring an adaptor or hope they have not lent all of theirs out). Showers are decent, just remember to ask for a key. The store is even nicer. It's full of high end wine, beer, cheese, crackers, cookies, etc. I seem to spend $50 just walking in there. The staff is always nice and remembers who you are if you have been there a few times. read more

This place has way more than you'd expect! In addition to the regular gas station stuff, this store has local and gourmet snacks and gifts.

Not sure why there is only one review on this place. And so negative. Just moved my boat to this town and visited for fuel. Was invited to a wine tasting that evening. Met a ton of nice people and the staff was very accommodating. The store had allot of character and one of the largest wine, beer & cheese selections around. Been back several times for tastings and it was packed and efficient. Great place to socialize during tastings on Fri & Sat night. read more

This place is a hidden gem. I walked in expecting a convenience store and was surprised to find a nice gourmet food market with a large selection of wines, craft beers, gourmet foods and cheeses. The staff was very friendly and let me know about their Friday night wine tastings. I will definitely be back. read more
