    Cantaloupe gazpacho with prosciutto bits!
    Andy C.

What a wonderful little place! My wife and I were driving to Oriental to get out of the house for a few hours on a nice sunny day. We showed up on a Second Sunday Soup day, which is a great idea for a light lunch! Although the Thai Coconut Chicken was already gone, I opted for the absolutely delicious Italian Sausage, Vegetable, and Shell Pasta Soup, while my wife ordered the refreshing and tasty Cantaloupe Gazpacho! We both had a lovely glass of wine, after the owner Moe offered us a taste of the Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines were dry and delicious, and went great with our soup meals. She also brought out some very nice fresh bread and butter! Normally, the bakery is open 7-10, so I thought I missed out on some sweets with a cup of coffee. Moe quickly brought out a raspberry bun, Mexican chocolate bun, and apricot pastry, as well as very smooth coffees. I told her I'd take all three, so I could have some in the morning. When I went to pay, Tammy told me they were on the house! Throughout our meal, Moe, Tammy, and a 3rd lovely staff member all checked on us. They were so friendly and kind, and made us feel relaxed with no rush, although we came a little late after the lunch time. If you're in the area, please stop by and support this fantastically warm and inviting space for people to enjoy some treats and beverages!

Best Sunday morning breakfast in oriental. Not to be missed. Friendly staff and a great frittata.

Bread was way overpriced and quality wise not what you expect from a bakery. Publics has better baked breads for a third of the price.

Growing up in the South, I've had my fill of the same kinds of restaurants, so finding a place like Cork has been such a breath of fresh air. Cork is truly special for New Bern. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, the service is consistently exceptional, and the hospitality makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. The wine list is carefully curated, with perfect pairings for every appetizer and entrée, making the entire dining experience unforgettable. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an amazing meal, Cork Wine Bar & Bistro is a place you'll want to come back to again and again. Even though we arrived for our scheduled reservation 15 minutes after opening they were out of one of the main courses and the server did not inform us until after we had taken the time to peruse the menu. Upon the chef's recommendation we ordered the veal instead of the lamb chops that we actually wanted and they did not have. My plate was extremely salty and my husbands was tough. The only positive thing I have to say about the food was that the fruit and burrata salad presented well and tasted good. A classy restaurant would have made it right. They made no such attempt other than our server apologizing profusely. I cannot recommend this anyone in good faith. Extremely disappointing

This place is the real deal. You definitely pay a lot. However, the food is absolutely worth the price you pay. This is a restaurant that talks the talk and walks the walk. The wedge salads is beyond comprehension how good it is. The bread is transcendent. I got the dry aged steak and my wife got the wagyu. Both were true to definition fine dining. My wife insisted on the truffle fries as a shareable side and by gosh they were the best fries ever had...that being said...wagyu 5oz is $130. You aren't going wrong here. Great meal, great service, worth the time and $$. It is rare to get a good deal and still spend $$$$ these days. This is the spot.

Yo, the internet homies steered me wrong! Shame on y'all!…read more I got the shrimp burger with smoked gouda mac and cheese. The shrimp were criminally overcooked, and the mac needed salt in the worst way. They didn't salt the pasta water (or salt it enough), and the mac was really sad, as a result. My friend got the soup of the day combo, which were were told was a "white bean and basil soup", but I'll be danged if it didn't come out with the most garbanzo-y looking white beans I've ever seen in my life. She said it tasted like they dumped rotel, chickpeas, and pesto into a pot and called it soup, and not in a good way. My wife got the smoked wings. She said the flavor was good, but they were brought out lukewarm and very lightly sauced (she's an extra saucy kind of lady). We got two cocktails, a cherry limeade slushie and a Kill Devil Hills Pain Killer. We were told the cherry limeade was made with just cherry mixer, lime, and vodka, but it definitely tasted like it had coconut in it, and my wife hates coconut. The Pain Killer I got was acceptable, but we ordered it with our food, and it didn't come out until I'd almost finished my dinner. The vibes in the place were meh, but fine (especially if the food/drinks were good), but the tables were extremely sticky across their entire surface, so either someone sucks at cleaning, or the finish on the tables was failing and needed to be sanded down/refinished. We did get a side of sweet potato fries that were pretty dope, but they didn't make up for the disappointment of everything else. 1 out of 5 stars; do not recommend.
